World Horse Welfare is an international charity that strives to support and strengthen the horse-human relationship through a combination of care, research, education and influence. We work to promote and protect welfare across the full spectrum of the equine world, including horses in need, sport and leisure horses, and horses used in work and production.
We are looking for a friendly, highly organised individual to oversee the daily running of our Visitor Centre at Glenda Spooner Farm which nestled in the stunning Somerset countryside, just outside the cozy township of Somerton. The main aim of the role is to ensure that all visitors have an enjoyable and informative experience, whilst assisting the Senior Centre Promotions Officer and Centre Manager with the organisation of a variety of events.
The successful candidate will be approachable with the ability to communicate with people at all levels. You will be flexible, self-motivated and proactive with the confidence to deal with people at all levels. This role deals with enquiries relating to the hiring and use of centre’s facilities (indoor school and conference room) and the subsequent co-ordination of bookings, ensuring the arrangements meet all requirements. You will promote the charity’s membership schemes and ensure all promotional and display material, including merchandise, is up to date and presented professionally. A knowledge and experience of horses would be advantageous.
This role offers up to 32 hours per week over 4 days. It is operated on a flexible basis and would suit a job-share as weekend working is required. A flexible approach towards working hours is essential as some events can take place outside of normal working hours.

About the Role
The Director of Partnerships will lead TASC’s partnership efforts, responsible for cultivating and securing new partnerships, and delivering on partnership strategies. You will manage relationships with key strategic partners, donors, civil society allies, and academic stakeholders. The Director of Partnerships will work closely with the CEO, contributing to the charity’s broader external relations activities, while operating with independence and professionalism.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Right to work in London.

Role Summary
As Head of Fundraising and Business Development, you will be responsible for implementing an effective fundraising and income generation strategy aligned to the objectives of our organisational Strategic plan and with a strong emphasis on partnership building and relationship management.
We exist to create lasting change for those who are marginalised and vulnerable, so you will need to be driven by the passion to see lives changed and help generate income to support more of this valuable work.
You will need to work effectively and confidently as our lead for both contract tenders and renewals and charitable fundraising and be experienced in helping develop a mixed model of income generation.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with high level demonstrable experience in business development and major contract tenders, bid writing and building corporate partnerships.
You’ll be highly effective in building meaningful relationships with a wide demographic of stakeholders, from large corporates to individual donors, and will exemplify the passion and value that we carry for our service users and supporters.

Responsibilities
Business Development Objectives
• Take the lead on Business Development for the charity by ensuring processes and procedures for supporting us to bid for and secure public sector contracts are robust and effective.
• Work with the Chief Operating Officer and relevant Head of Service on identifying and securing contractual funding opportunities.
• Develop and write tender bids to support us to secure new contracts

Fundraising Strategy & Objectives
• Create and implement an effective Fundraising Strategy for the charity that applies the right balance of fundraising mechanisms, e.g. trusts, foundations, corporate philanthropy, events, individual giving and major donors, to achieve our organisational objectives.
• Work to established Fundraising targets and goals, considering strategic change and approach where any risk of shortfall is identified, to enable the development of charitable activities in response to established need

Job Context
It is an exciting time to be coming into Lepra as we currently celebrate our organisation’s Centenary year this year. In 2023 we underwent a strategic review and developed our new 6-year global strategy to re-establish our work into the future. We are using our Centenary year in 2024 as a springboard to launch our new strategic period. You will oversee the administration of pension schemes, ensuring that all relevant legislation is followed meticulously. You’ll manage pension contributions, transfers, and payments, ensuring everything runs smoothly and accurately. Keeping our pension records up-to-date will be a key responsibility, allowing you to support staff effectively when they have questions about their pensions. To be considered for this role you will have demonstrable experience working in a HR role. You will be CIPD Qualified Level 3 or working towards the qualification. As our Senior Accountant & Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insight, advice and support to key stakeholders across the organisation. You will be a trusted adviser to non-finance teams helping them to understand financial data and make informed decisions. You will be a key element of the high-performing and credible finance team, supporting both the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant and the Assistant Accountant in operational finance and in ongoing delivery of accurate financial information on which the business partnering relies.
To be successful in this role you will have strong analytical skills, providing financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting advice to drive performance and operational efficiency. You will have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders across the RCR. What you’ll do:

- Supporting RCR’s regular financial and non-financial performance reporting with analytical advice, insight and commentaries.
- Support the wider finance team in delivering timely management information

- Cover for the Head of finance in their absence.
What you’ll need:
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
- Experience of both financial business partnering role and accounting role.
- Excellent commercial skills, including the ability to lead or support negotiations and to influence and motivate others.
- Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical/non-professional audiences.
- An enquiring and analytical mindset with the ability to spot risks, to dig further to follow up on problems and work through issues to offer practical solutions.
- Experience of collaborative work across functions to support others in delivering tasks and projects.
