Home-Start is committed to promoting the welfare of families with young children to enable them to have the best start in life. We are recruiting a Family Support Coordinator to help us provide targeted, specialised support to families in Barnet, who could be struggling with any of a range of issues. This includes those with children under the age of 5, expecting parents who may be experiencing poor mental health or families with complex circumstances with children up to the age of 19.
Our Coordinators are integral members of the Home-Start team, as well as wider teams of professionals from universal and specialist services to provide a coordinated response to families’ needs. They assess need and carefully match volunteers with families. This may include instigating Early Help assessments and attending case planning meetings.
Coordinators work with their own volunteer team, ensuring they are supported and fully trained to achieve the best outcomes for families and, in particular, the children. Coordinators work with families in their own home. They are skilled in recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns, be apt in completing strengths-based assessments and conversations. They also have a deep understanding of the issues families can face and the link with childhood development and difficulties they may experience later in life.
The post holder will build on our existing work and our relationships in Barnet, to deliver a volunteer-led home-visiting service and related activities to local families. This will require a good working knowledge of the borough, community partners and agencies. You will ideally be co-located in one of the community centres or community venues but will be required to travel around the borough regularly. Coordinators will allso participate in weekly family groups in each borough, based in the children's centres and family hubs.
We are recruiting a Coordinator for Barnet to cover a period of secondment until 31st March 2025. However, there may be an opportunity for this to be extended further subject to funding. The work is largely field-based, but will require regular days in the office which is in Finchley, Barnet.

Propositions & Copy Manager
Battersea’s Marketing & Communications department is responsible for communicating the breadth of the organisation’s work in an engaging and memorable way. Though our award-winning campaigns, we use our influence to affect change for dogs and cats within and beyond our gates; building Battersea’s reputation on a national and international scale.
Our work involves everything from innovative integrated advertising campaigns to rehome our animals, to supporting other departments with their strategic objectives. We also manage Battersea’s online communities, offer brand guidance, deliver innovative digital activity, and manage internal communications, ensuring that staff and volunteers stay informed and engaged. The department’s ultimate goal is to raise awareness of Battersea’s work, so we can be here for more dogs and cats.
We are looking for someone to join us as a Propositions & Copy Manager to bring the Battersea brand to life by creating, developing and implementing the use of compelling propositions, succinct key messages and engaging copy to achieve organisation-wide objectives.
The ideal candidate will have fresh creative ideas and an ability to write compelling copy to implement the brand marketing strategy for Battersea, increase brand awareness and achieve objectives. They will have the ability to drive brand affinity through the development of high-quality, insight-led copy including clear propositions, key messages and call to action for different audiences.

Over two years, a local retrofit hub will be established in three different locations, each with two members of staff who will help build trust, provide guidance and support, harness opportunities, and empower local people to achieve and benefit from change. The key will be to work at the heart of the community to encourage / support / enable householders to take up existing grants for energy efficiency measures but in addition, practical (funded) assistance will be available to enable retrofit works and to offer additional non-funded support as necessary.
The Local Retrofit Co-ordination Officer will be one of two staff based in, and working to establish, a new local retrofit hub in Sheffield. We are also recruiting for a Local Retrofit Support Officer in the same location (job ref R71). The Local Retrofit Co-ordination Officer will carry out development work to understand the make-up of the local area, the housing stock, existing networks and strategies and to identify gaps in provision. They will be responsible for identifying opportunities for significant schemes such as ECO to be implemented on a larger scale and to build partnerships with organisations working locally where they can add to the retrofit experience. Through the action taking place in the community, the Local Retrofit Co-ordination Officer will build local capacity with installers and supply chains to deliver energy retrofit measures in a supportive environment. They will also co-ordinate or deliver advice and events in the community to householders and/or others to raise awareness of retrofit practice and technologies as well as to inform and de-mystify. Impeccable customer service will be at the heart of all community engagement.
The Local Retrofit Co-ordination Officer will work alongside other NEA departments to share experiences and learnings and to assist with the progression of other elements of the project. They will be expected to identify local/regional funding opportunities and assist NEA’s Fundraising and Partnerships team to produce proposals where applicable.

What you will need to succeed

As well as the important benefits to participating households, this demonstration project will provide valuable insight into the attitudes of low-income householders towards energy efficiency improvements, highlighting challenges and barriers to retrofitting energy efficiency measures into the homes of those who need it most. NEA intends to utilise the knowledge gained (positives and negatives) to inform and influence those who make the decisions and design key national energy efficiency campaigns.
The Local Retrofit Support Officer will be one of two new staff based in, and working to establish, a new local retrofit hub in Blackburn, Burnley or Hyndburn (exact location TBC). We are also recruiting for a Local Retrofit Co-ordination Officer in the same location (job ref R74). The Local Retrofit Support Officer will assist householders to apply for energy efficiency retrofit measures and support them through the installation process providing impeccable customer service.
As someone with proven practical technical experience, they will be responsible for monitoring the quality and standards of energy efficiency retrofit measures installed in our clients’ homes and, on behalf of the client, will manage third party installers working on the property. In addition, it is expected that the Local Retrofit Support Officer will directly install some smaller interventions/measures which are yet to be confirmed.
Working closely with the Local Retrofit Co-ordination Officer (R74), they will also co-ordinate or deliver advice and events in the community to householders and/or others to raise awareness of retrofit practice and technologies as well as to inform and de-mystify.

NEA’s Local Retrofit Co-ordination Officer role sits in the Directorate of Homes and will report to the Community Retrofit Project Manager.
What you will need to succeed
Local Retrofit Co-ordination Officers will have experience working in energy retrofit, community development and regeneration or housing sectors. They will also be an excellent communicator with experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders – with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

About the role
Our moderators manage Facebook groups of up to 18,000 virtual challenge participants. You will be working with some of the biggest names in the sector, supporting them to raise five and six figure sums.
This role is perfect for skilled fundraisers who can provide excellent supporter care, and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9am (or earlier), wrap up by 9pm and adhere to our sub-three hour response time.
As a Fundraising Group Moderator, you would be responsible for:

Our moderation takes place between 9am and 9pm, Monday-Sunday. Different challenges have different requirements and whilst you need to be on hand to monitor the group during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' professional fundraising experience. They will understand the importance of stewarding relationships and be committed to always acting in the best possible way for the charities we work so hard to support.
Full training will be provided alongside regular one to one and team catch ups.
