Westway Trust are seeking a full-time Communications Manager who will work closely with the Head of Communications and Marketing to develop and deliver annual Communications, Marketing and Engagement plans that demonstrates and promotes Westway Trust strategic priorities.

This is a pivotal role in the organisation with responsibility for managing the multimedia and digital ecosystem at Westway Trust; generating regular, creative and engaging multimedia content whilst line managing a small team.

You will be a creative thinker with strong communication skills, with considerable experience of using Adobe Suite programmes or similar.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

Multimedia creation and management

• Manage Social media platforms: Westway Trust, Visit Portobello, Adult Learning, Pop Up Crèche & Westway Arts
• Monitor and report the impact of social media campaigns
• Website/Intranet  administration
• Work with website Host Company: writing briefs, submitting tickets to developers, implementing new features and reporting site issues

Content Creation

• Developing content, producing videos: researching, coordinating, filming & editing
• Writing briefs and working with photographers, videographers and designers
• Writing, co-ordinating and producing newsletters

Digital Marketing

• Support the Head of Communications and Marketing to develop and deliver annual Communications, Marketing and Engagement plans
• Work across the organisation to promote our work, opportunities and work of stakeholders
• Communications and Social Media strategies: Lead and work with project leads for individual campaigns to develop plans for content production, calendars for social media, and timeline for project start to completion

Quality Control

• Follow brand guidelines for videos, social media artwork and written content. Including updating content for other teams before public publishing or distribution
• Proof reading content for digital and printed materials

Events

• Technical support
• Developing and implementing marketing plans

Digital Communications Support

• Internal: Supporting other teams with external & internal communications and content creation
• External: Supporting community groups with digital communications and content creation

Experience, knowledge and skills:

• Experience in developing, maintaining and analysing the performance of digital channels to meet organisational objectives

As a Conservation Projects Manager and a key member of the national Conservation team, you will work with experienced consultants and skilled craftspeople, with national and regional colleagues, volunteers, local partners and stakeholders to develop and manage a range of holistic, conservation and new use projects, from inception to completion, and providing professional advice and support to community led projects.  You will lead on all capital, conservation and maintenance, programmes in the region.

You will have expertise and specialist knowledge in the field of historic building repair and conservation, and a proven track record of project management (client side) in the heritage sector. You might be a Building Surveyor, a Conservation Architect, an Estate Manager, or a Project Manager, in this continually varied and unique role you will be working on some of the most significant historic buildings in the country. This is a very exciting time to join our expanding Visiting Caseworker Service. We are seeking two new colleagues, who will join our current team of two caseworkers covering the UK and Ireland.  These newly created positions will be regionally based, one covering South West England & South Wales, and the other North West England & North Wales (with other travel across the UK on occasion).

Visiting Caseworkers each deal with an approximate caseload of 70-100 cases / visits per year.  Central to the role will be supporting and advocating on behalf of vulnerable applicants, or those who are living in particularly complex or challenging situations. The job will be wide-ranging and include elements of advocacy, support, income maximisation, mediation, partnership working and processing our own grants where appropriate, with the overall aim to reach long-term sustainable solutions for Anglican clergy households.

Working closely with the Visiting Caseworker Manager and the wider Charitable Services team, key responsibilities will include:

Receive referrals from applicants via the Grants & Services team, for potential casework and home visits

• Assess and prioritise urgent cases on a weekly basis.

Conduct home visit (or online meeting)

• Provide thorough assessment of current situation, taking into consideration time available and wellbeing of the applicant.
• Conduct general income maximisation check (welfare benefits, grants check etc), where necessary.
• Identify, discuss and escalate (to Designated Safeguarding Officer) any safeguarding concerns within the household.
• Gather information in order to create individualised action plans with the primary contact and other household members. 
  • Assess and prioritise urgent actions during the meeting.

Develop an action plan 

• Complete a written summary of the meeting and draft an action plan for possible areas of help and support with allocated responsibilities and agreed timelines.
• Prioritise urgent actions and agree responsibility for each action with applicant.
• Liaise with other agencies (e.g., DWP, Social Services, NHS, other charities, voluntary organisations, occupational benevolent funds, Dioceses, CofE Pensions Board etc.) where necessary.
• Refer to our own partnership support services if appropriate for help and support.
• Research and identify any local organisations for longer-term support.
• Consider and recommend most appropriate grant support through our own internal grants programme.
• Advocate on behalf of the applicant (e.g., complete internal and external applications, liaise with other external agencies, members of the Church where necessary). 
• Act as third party for complaints, mediation or appeal hearings with applicants, either in person, online, or helping prepare a written submission.
• Keep accurate and objective notes and communications within our CRM system and ensure this is kept up to date on a daily basis.

Follow-up

• Manage and update action plans, while keeping in contact with applicant on a regular basis.
• Encourage and empower applicants to complete their actions and know when to step in, as and when necessary.
• Only in exceptional circumstances, consider a further home visit, if deemed appropriate

Other reasonable duties and projects commensurate with the post

• Support and work closely with other VC colleagues sharing areas of expertise.
• In particularly busy times, act as an overflow for grant applications, to support colleagues in the Charitable Services Team.

Role Purpose:

As the Pathway Coordinator – Hospital Discharge you will work closely with colleagues within the Wellbeing Collaborative and across the organisation, to develop and deliver our innovative offer in the acute hospitals and community reablement across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, to co-create local solutions enabling the community to better access the support the voluntary and community sector (VCS) has to offer.

The role will see you: 

• Interact with patients on a face-to-face basis, actively listen and understand their needs ahead of leaving hospital.
• Provide connection to appropriate community support, ahead of discharge. Helping them to return home safely, avoid re-admittance and stay healthy and independent for longer.
• Following a referral from hospital teams, ahead of discharge.
• Develop relationships with professional teams including the Discharge Coordinators and Discharge Key Workers
• Engage in multi-disciplinary discussions in relation to community support available post discharge.
• Work with colleagues efficiently and effectively to distribute one-off wellbeing grants to enable discharge from hospital in a safe and timely manner.
• Identify and highlight gaps in provision at point of discharge from hospital, and work with community groups to identify how best they could support.
• Support the team in the trialling of integrated volunteering into community wellbeing pathways.
• Work as part of the team on a duty roster for a minimum 2 days a week signposting people and professionals to relevant local community service providers.
• Work with the team to monitor and evaluate the Wellbeing Collaborative to ensure our objectives are achieved and evidenced.
• Support the Pathway Coordinator Team Lead to implement a robust and effective communications strategy which not only champions and promotes the work CAN does but also its members.
• Champion the CAN membership and the support we can provide to communities and grassroots groups as well as to our statutory colleagues.
• Maintain a good level of understanding and information on related CAN services and work closely with other colleagues across the organisation to represent the wider organisation at community events.
• Embrace and embody CAN values in how the role is delivered with collaborative and generous working behaviours.
• Administrate and organise own work to ensure that it is accurate and meets quality targets, reasonable deadlines and reporting requirement.

About you:

You’ll have a good understanding of the work of an umbrella infrastructure such as CAN and the benefits the voluntary and community sector (VCS) can and do bring the community.   You’ll understand how the local public sector works with the VCS including BCP Council, NHS Dorset, Public Health and have a desire to see them working more efficiently and effectively together.

As a people person with great interpersonal skills, you’ll be able to build and maintain excellent professional relationships with a wide range of people from a range of background to connect and develop solutions which meet people’s needs.

Experience within acute and/or community hospital, reablement services or community signposting would be an advantage, but full training will be given for the right candidate.

Role Requirements

Site wide general housekeeping service – ensure that the housekeeping services is of an acceptable level and is consistent across site.

•  Carry out a cleaning service in allocated buildings/rooms/areas ensuring that daily tasks are completed according to the standard operating procedures in relation to the cleanliness/hygiene standards.
• Follow infection control procedures whenever carrying out duties and ensure procedures are followed should there be an infection control outbreak.
• Liaise with the Housekeeping Supervisor and House Staff on a daily basis – carrying out special requests in relation to Housekeeping.
• Ensure safe storage of cleaning materials and equipment and sufficient stock is maintained – informing the Housekeeping Supervisor of stock requiring ordering.
• Assist in the cleaning of communal areas on a daily basis and cleaning of carpets, curtains, and high dusting on a rotating schedule.
• Ensure that any repairs required to fixtures and fittings are reported to the designated Facilities Helpdesk as soon as possible and any issues are reported to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Assist in routine housekeeping audits as outlined in the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensure any works are to agreed service levels.
• Prioritise work to complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Assist other members of the Site Services and Facilities teams as required
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonabl require    from time to time.
