As Head of Data Portfolio, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategy that ensures a lack of information is not a barrier to concerted action on air pollution. A solid technical background and understanding of air quality is desirable. As the Head of Development & Communications, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and achieving EECF’s income generation strategy. This will involve evaluating current income generation and building upon existing donor relationships and growing new meaningful donor partnerships. With a focus on high value fundraising across, individuals and corporate, this role will work with and manage a small team of three to achieve income generation goals. It will also be part of the Senior Management Team and work closely with other internal relationships to achieve growth.

To be successful as the Head of Development & Communications you will have proven experience within fundraising and particularly across high value income streams. This person will also have had previous line management experience and be keen to manage a small team to achieve success. They will be strong in building meaningful relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.  

This role is a full-time permanent position that will have hybrid working in the London offices 2-3 days per week. The salary for this role is £50,000 to £55,000.

About the role

This role will lead Kids' social change program, delivering clear policy and influencing objectives grounded in evidence and research from both our sources and external ones. At a critical juncture following the 2024 General Election and the start of a new Parliament, you will establish strategies and tactics for achieving successful impact throughout the next parliamentary term. You will also ensure that disabled children, young people, and their families are at the heart of Kids' efforts to transform the system. By collaborating with these groups, their families, and various partners and stakeholders, they will champion reforms at all levels.

What You Will Be Doing as Head of Policy, Voice, and Influencing

As Head of Policy, Voice, and Influencing, your responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement an influencing strategy to drive changes in the SEND system.
• Create policy reports and solutions for engagement with government and stakeholders.
• Integrate insights from Kids' services into policy development.
• Demonstrate how service delivery and policy influence intersect across departments.
• Gather and present evidence, amplifying the voices of children, young people, and families.

The Role

This role will be at the heart of our Localities, delivering Community Investment and partnership actively through commissioning and supporting activity that creates social impact.

Reporting to the Community Investment and Partnership Manager, you'll lead in the delivery and ongoing development of a Locality based Community Investment strategy, embedding our Thriving Communities, Customer Impact and Corporate Plan. Key responsibilities include:

• Creating, implementing and overseeing the delivery of a wide-ranging programme of interventions in localities
• Ensuring that contracts and projects are managed effectively, including performance management that demonstrates our social impact
• Ensuring the smooth and effective financial management of projects via contracts and grants, including adhering to procurement and financial regulations
• Working with the Partnerships and Funding team by writing bids that bring in external funding to deliver social impact in our communities
• Working collaboratively with Community Investment colleagues to ensure the Thriving Communities vision is delivered in localities
• Working effectively with our Grants Officer to support the grant programmes and work with awardees as required
• Embedding a framework for social impact and outcomes recording

What we need from you

Ideally, you'll have significant experience and expertise in the Community Investment sector gained from working in a similar role.

You'll need excellent partnership skills, a focus on delivering social impact, ability to identify opportunities for fundraising and programme development and commitment to customer service with the confidence to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders. You'll also have:

• A proven track record of positive stakeholder engagement and relationship management, both internally and externally
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written, tailored to a range of audiences
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• Experience of quality assurance of projects, including monitoring and evaluation systems
• Confidence with budget management and financial systems
• IT literate and able to use technology for effective project delivery
