PVRI is a small charity with a global reach. Our aim is to reduce the global burden of Pulmonary Vascular Disease with a particular focus on Pulmonary Hypertension (PH): PH is a life-threatening and life-limiting condition that affects millions worldwide.
PH can lead to heart damage and trigger symptoms like breathlessness, chest pain, poor growth, and severe difficulties exercising and carrying out normal daily tasks. Diagnosis and care aren’t readily available in many parts of the world, and even when it is, PH treatment can itself be challenging and life-changing. Although it’s estimated that PH affects 1% of the global population, it isn’t widely recognised or well-understood.
To change that, we bring together a fantastic network of energetic and committed PH doctors, academics, patients, and industry partners. Together we’re identifying and addressing the key challenges in global PH, educating the global workforce, and encouraging research. In practical terms, we:
- Host international scientific conferences
- Produce an open-access peer reviewed PH journal, Pulmonary Circulation
- Run webinars and e-learning

About the Project Coordinator
The Coordinator provides project and administrative support to our international Workstreams and Task Forces, enabling them to successfully deliver complex academic and scientific workplans, surveys, webinars, research and academic papers.
Key tasks include
- managing group membership, and scheduling and managing virtual meetings across multiple time zones
- setting up surveys, arranging translations and testing, and collating and manipulating data
- liaison with our journal editors regarding fees and publication schedules for workstream papers, and proofreading and formating these papers for publication
- support the planning, delivery and evaluation of workgoup webinars and e-learning, in conjunction with our Comms team
- scheduling and supporting F2F workgroup meetings and presentations at our annual Congress

Community Connectors forms part of the Citadel programme. Citadel is a volunteer-led project preventing homelessness by helping people find or sustain their tenancies and establish a home. About the role
This is a diverse role and will offer scope to develop and lead specific projects that fulfil strategic ambitions of the research, support and influencing directorate. The main 4 areas of the role are to:

About you
We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated person to join our team and someone who brings a strong background in scientific research and grant management. You’ll have a degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience, with knowledge of research grants management. You’ll also be able to demonstrate independently managing and prioritising complex projects, showing an ability to navigate multiple tasks.
A PhD in a relevant scientific field is desirable, as well as experience working with and supporting high-level scientific committees. Familiarity with operating databases and engaging in patient and public involvement in research would also be a plus.
In addition to your technical expertise, you should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to foster effective working relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders. About the opportunity:
The Tutor Communications Officer will work closely with the Communications and Media Manager to support all aspects of stakeholder communications and engagement at Action Tutoring. The role will require you to develop engaging and motivational content when communicating with our volunteer tutor network, schools and other stakeholders.
The Tutor Communications Officer will develop their data management and analytical skills, when evaluating the impact of communications and maintaining subscriber data. They will also develop detailed knowledge of our e-communications software (Campaign Monitor) to create precise and engaging email campaigns with accurate segmentation of recipients.
Comprehensive induction and training will be provided. Action Tutoring is committed to providing development opportunities for its staff and, as a growing charity, there are plenty of opportunities to take on new areas of responsibility.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Work with Communications and Engagement teams to create impactful communications that recruit new tutors, re-engage lapsed volunteers, and convert former tutors into long-term charity supporters.
- Maintain and analyse data across our e-communications platforms (ValueText, Campaign Monitor) and our volunteer database (Salesforce) to optimize audience targeting and engagement, while ensuring GDPR compliance and data cleanliness.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Strategy will be responsible for the day to day strategic operational scrutiny and reporting in order to meet the Bikeability Trust’s mission, contractual and legal obligations. This role is critical in the leadership of the Bikeability Trust as deputising for the CEO.
The Bikeability Trust’s purpose is to ensure that all cycle training is delivered to a gold standard, inspiring everyone to cycle with competence and confidence.

Key accountabilities:
Leadership

Maintain a strong relationship and engaging with the CEO to lead the day to day operations of the Bikeability Trust ensuring the CEO can hold more external focus

Provide leadership and management to the Operations Team including:

Impact and Reporting

Develop and lead reporting on progress towards the Bikeability Trust strategy with the Board of Trustees through annual business plans and corporate dashboard, gathering evidence and analysis from across the Bikeability Trust

Refine and implement monthly and quarterly impact and KPI reporting to fulfil the ATE, TfL and other funders reporting requirements
-
Deliver high quality information, governance, and business insights to the CEO and Board to inform decision-making

Work with the Finance and grants team to ensure compliance with financial policies and reporting requirement
-
Develop annual research plans to generate impactful information to generate support for Bikeability strategy with decision makers, public and media
Active Travel England engagement
-
Lead monthly reporting and scrutiny meetings for Active Travel to reduce reliance on the CEO for input
Walking and Cycling Alliance (WACA)
-
Lead Bikeability input in the External Affairs group meetings and events to foster closer working relationships and promotion of the Bikeability Trust strategic and impact data to influence policy and campaigning activities

Prepare briefings for the CEO to attend roundtables, CEO meetings and WACA events
Communications & Research

Manage the communications function increasing awareness, understanding and support for Bikeability strategy through an impactful communication strategy, marketing, PR, social media, media and campaigns

Develop and maintain internal communications channels and engaging activities for employees, including Mental Health awareness, and regular staff surveys
HR and Governance

Maintain internal policies recommending changes to Trustees for approval and annual audit of policies

Maintain HR function jointly with the CEO across Bikeability with a focus on developing talent, succession planning, performance and appraisals systems. Seek input from external suppliers as required on HR

Develop leadership and management capability across the Trust

Develop organisational competence in strategic planning, business development and regulatory issues

You’ll use your quality improvement expertise to support health & care professionals with projects and programmes, equipping them with the latest tools, resources, evidence and data to develop and improve services for people with Parkinson’s.
You’ll support the development of a vibrant national network, working in collaboration with the Professional Engagement team and the regional clinical leads. You’ll also work with health and care professionals and Parkinson’s UK colleagues to respond to any threats to Parkinson's services and effect positive change.
What you’ll do
- Facilitate health and care service redesign and improvement projects in collaboration with clinicians, Parkinson’s UK staff and people living with Parkinson’s and drawing on the principles of co-production
- Build relationships to influence service improvement across London and support the development of a vibrant national network
- Maximise participation in the UK Parkinson's Audit and relevant surveys
- Support health & care services to develop and implement service improvement plans, using the results of the UK Parkinson's Audit as a lever
- Promote the Excellence network funding opportunities, providing support where appropriate with the development of business cases and grant applications
What you’ll bring
- Experience and expertise in service redesign and effecting change within health and/or social care in London
- Knowledge of health and care structures and commissioning across London
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and manage successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior clinicians

This role is home based with the requirement to live within and travel around your assigned geography. The assigned geography for the region covers the NHS England region. You will also be required to attend team and individual meetings that usually take place in our London office. There may also be the requirement for occasional overnight stays.
