The DIP Research and Development Officer will be a member of the Diocesan Strategic Development Unit working specifically on researching and developing different workstreams for this exciting new progamme as it starts and also contribute to the existing strategic development funded projects coordinated through the Strategic Development Unit.

Quality Assurance

• Deal with external and internal enquiries
• Work closely with Industry Engagement and Partnership team to deliver industry-led (external) accreditation in a timely manner
• Lead the materials ordering process, including the distribution of certificates and badges to regional offices and external partners
• Take the lead on external partner feedback surveys, student data requests and observation reports, working with partners to ensure their completion and return
• Manage Quality Assurance data dashboards and work with the Head of Impact to provide evaluation and impact statistics for external Industrial Cadets accreditations

• Support, and eventually lead, weekly online Hubspot drop-in sessions for internal staff enquiries

The Digital Data Manager reports directly into the Head of Fundraising and plays a lead role in driving income generation through strategic management of data. You will also be developing team skill and expertise to ensure a joined-up approach to data.

The Gender and Development Network (GADN) is recruiting for a new Policy and Advocacy Officer. 

GADN brings together expert NGOs, consultants, academics and individuals committed to working on gender equality, development and women’s rights issues. 

The Policy and Advocacy Officer role is part of a small team at the GADN Secretariat, consisting of the Director, Head of Policy, and Network Coordinator. The post holder will work with the Head of Policy and Director to implement the Feminist Reframing of Macro-level Economics (REFRAME) programme and support with GADN’s core advocacy towards the UK government. 

We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of, and commitment to, gender equality, women’s and girls’ rights, and international development issues. The ideal candidate will have a passion for women’s economic justice and a willingness to actively work on these topics, alongside a clear commitment to anti-racism. You will bring experience in advocacy (ideally in a UK context), along with administrative experience of providing support to a busy team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to laying the foundations for a new Young Lives (YL) Research Hub on Climate Change and Environmental Shocks.
• Support the Deputy Director to deliver the YL Policy Influencing Strategy and key research-to-policy outputs across the YL programme, including key messages, policy briefs, impact case studies, blogs and other policy focused materials relating to YL research themes. Key themes include education and skills, employment, health & wellbeing and family lives, with a specific focus on the crosscutting impacts of climate change and environmental shocks, poverty and inequalities.
• Track and analyse international and national policy debates, with a specific focus on the impact of poverty, inequalities and climate change on young people in low- and middle-income (LMICs) countries, including the disproportionate effects on girls and women.
• Proactively engage and build relationships with key international policy stakeholders working on the impacts of poverty, inequalities and climate change in LMICs, including policy influencers and practitioners (e.g. governments, donors and civil society), research-to-policy networks and researchers.
• Work closely with the Deputy Director and YL Country Directors to identify opportunities to influence policy debates both internationally and in the four study countries and provide technical support in developing research-to-policy engagement plans.
• Work closely with the YL Head of Communications to ensure research findings and related policy implications are effectively disseminated for maximum impact, including through website and social media, webinars, conferences, policy events and meetings to encourage the maximum uptake and impact of Young Lives evidence. Key Responsibilities

To work closely with the Evidence & Advocacy Manager (EAM) to develop and implement a series of impactful evidence and research projects that support our advocacy messaging, as well as internal and external learning for inclusive programmes and advisory work. These projects will build on established workstreams alongside developing new ones to maintain and extend CBM UK’s evidence base.

Disability Evidence, Policy Research and Learning

With EAM support the ongoing CBM UK Research and Evidence workstream, through:

1. Translating evidence from our programming countries and projects to produce and contribute to a range of resources to influence FCDO and other stakeholders. Tasks to include managing and maintaining established outputs, such as the CBM UK Project Evidence Briefs and Disability Voices paper series, generating new thematic papers, as well as policy and position papers to enhance effective advocacy submissions, briefing notes, blogs and other messaging on key disability rights issues.

2. Working collaboratively within CBM UK and across CBM Global to help develop and to deliver new policy research, drawing on mixed methods and data sources including national and international databases, using qualitative approaches including participatory or citizen generated data, and new empirical work.

3. Supporting Programme staff to improve impact and learning practice in CBM UK funded projects, provide technical support for the implementation of programme related research and data collection, including MEAL.

4. Providing technical research support into the development of proposals for new grant funded projects, and, where successful, support the management of subsequent research projects.

5. Keeping abreast of new research and publications on key themes and priority concerns within the CBM UK Advocacy and Influencing Strategy, taking into consideration sector trends and developments, and ensure this is disseminated to relevant staff within the CBM UK Team.

6. Keeping watch on UK policy environment and conducting research and analysis to support CBM UK advocacy messaging on disability and human rights.

Dissemination and Communications

1. Maintaining and developing internal knowledge management systems for research and information on disability inclusion and rights, and related areas, to be used by Advocacy, Programmes and Fundraising & Communications teams.

2. Ensuring communication plans are developed with CBM UK and Global Federation colleagues for CBM UK evidence outputs.

3. Maintaining the Advocacy and Influencing pages of the CBM UK website ensuring rights-based communication and focus to support CBM UK and Global campaigns.

4. Liaison with Fundraising & Communications colleagues to amplify media stories, case studies and compelling evidence from country programming for advocacy purposes.

5. Participation in and building good relationships with UK-based disability and development networks, including relevant research networks and membership of the BOND Disability and Development Group.

This role sits within the Community Education and Training team, working to support our learners to access, complete and progress through our wide range of adult learning provision. The main focus will be on providing additional support for learners who need wrap-around support relating to a range of additional personal and educational needs. SWEDA is growing fast. Since the pandemic, the number of children, young people and adults who need our support has grown exponentially. An estimated 1.25m people in the UK have an eating disorder, and an NHS mental health questionnaire in 2023 found that 59.4% of 17-19 year olds ‘screened positive’ for having eating problems.

We have responded by expanding geographically (into Bristol and South Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire), developing our children and young people’s services and investing in the development of a fundraising team. Our Head of Fundraising has been in post for just over a year and our Fundraising & Communications Officer joined in January 2024. Now we need a Fundraising Manager to help us develop and grow our community fundraising to diversify our income and secure SWEDA’s future. We are a small and friendly team and will make you feel very welcome.

Your role will be to help us devise and deliver community and individual fundraising campaigns, secure and cultivate corporate partnerships and forge relationships with schools and other community partners. You will also recruit and manage a team of volunteers to fundraise and raise awareness. You will be someone who loves meeting people and is ambitious and driven to achieve results. You will have lots of enthusiasm, energy and ideas. You will be comfortable trying new things and in being adaptable; we want to scale our public fundraising activity and are applying a ‘test and learn’ approach. The primary objective will be to raise funds to support our life transforming work, but also to raise awareness and understanding of eating disorders, and help establish SWEDA as the eating disorder specialist across the South & West. 

We are looking for a candidate who has the necessary skills and experience to fulfil the following role:

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, lead and deliver on income generation plans for individuals (including regular giving and appeals), community and corporate fundraising to grow SWEDA’s income year on year.
• Forge and cultivate relationships with supporters – individuals and businesses – in person, on the phone and through SWEDA’s communications channels.
• Maintain a clear focus on acquisition across community, corporate and individuals, with dedicated time for proactive prospect research.
• Monitor, evaluate and report against agreed performance indicators
• Work collaboratively with the Head of Fundraising and other team members to maximise income generation opportunities
• Develop a network of volunteers to support cost effective and successful public fundraising activity.
• Drive innovation to improve fundraising practice, increase ROI and test new approaches to raise money.
• Use data insight to drive decision making and improve performance.
• Plan and implement an effective stewardship plan which prioritises personalised long term relationships.
• Effectively use the CRM to record and manage your work, capture donor information/consents and support strategic planning.

Action for Conservation is a grassroots charity using pioneering approaches to inspire and empower young people from diverse backgrounds, between the ages of 12 and 24, to become the next generation of environmental leaders. We're looking to appoint a Senior Programmes Manager - North West (Maternity cover) to help us shape and manage our programmes for young people nationally and lead our work in the North West.

Starting salary: £36,749.45 - £40,773.98 depending on location and experience
Contract: Fixed-term for 12 months, with possibility to extend this if needed
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Evening and weekend work: Regular evening and weekend work, including residential work, will be required. Time off in lieu (TOIL) can be taken for overtime worked.  
Location: Remote or Manchester/London/Bristol (hybrid) - to be agreed with the successful candidate 
Travel: Regular travel to Manchester and the North West of England will be required where this is not the jobholder’s usual place of work, as well as occasional national travel for meetings

This opportunity comes at a unique and exciting time in the evolution of our charity, as we look at how we continue to grow our work sustainably and deepen the connections between our youth and land-based work streams.

As Senior Programme Manager, you will have the opportunity to shape our work nationally as well as lead our programmes in the North West of England, enabling us to grow our reach, deepen our impact and ultimately deliver our mission. Your work will ensure that across our programmes we offer young people meaningful and impactful opportunities to take action for people and the planet and have a voice in shaping the future of our landscapes. 

You will work closely with and report to the Head of Impact and Programme Operations. You will also line manage the other regional Programme Managers and a team of two Programme Coordinators in the North West, and will collaborate with the Land-Based Projects and Policy Lead and the Land-based Project Coordinator at the intersection of our youth programmes and land-based work.

With support from your manager and in consultation with the other regional Programme Managers, you will translate our annual programme strategy into a robust cross-regional implementation plan covering both programme design and operations and make tangible improvements to enhance efficiency and impact across our regions. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our programmes are delivered as planned, to a high standard in line with best practice and cohesively across regions, and that regional objectives and targets in the North West are achieved.

The ideal candidate will be a highly capable and experienced project/programmes manager and team leader with a proven track record of motivating and supporting others to achieve the best possible outcomes for your team and your programmes. 

Key responsibilities

• Lead Action for Conservation’s work in the North West, ensuring that regional targets and objectives are achieved and supporting the expansion of our programmes and projects in line with our organisational strategy.

• Support the cross-regional planning and management of our programmes to ensure that programmes are delivered on time and to budget, to a high standard and cohesively across regions. 

• Line manage the other regional Programme Manager and the North West Programme Coordinators, providing leadership, guidance and support as needed.
