At Unfold, we have been supporting young people and families across Westminster and its neighbouring boroughs for over 30 years. Our vision is to empower individuals to overcome barriers and achieve their goals through mentoring and peer support. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Programme Coordinator to join our small but committed team, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality mentoring programmes and women's support groups.

The Role

You’ll support the Programme Manager in coordinating the logistics and delivery of our mentoring services, which include our flagship Mentoring for Mothers programme and its adaptation, Mentoring for Mothers Welcome, tailored to support asylum-seeking women and their children.

From the initial application stage to conducting assessments and making the all-important mentor-mentee matches, you’ll ensure that everyone feels supported and valued throughout their journey with us. You’ll also be a crucial point of contact for our volunteer mentors, providing training and supervision, answering queries, and ensuring they feel confident in their roles.

In addition, you’ll take an active role in the coordination of our Women Support Groups, which help to foster a sense of community and solidarity. You’ll be responsible for ensuring sessions run smoothly, supporting facilitators, and actively promoting our mentoring programmes to group attendees. Your proactive nature will help strengthen our relationships with external partners and support the development of new opportunities for our service users.

About You

You'll have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable families and individuals, especially those from diverse and complex backgrounds The ideal candidate will have a background in community support or volunteer management, with strong communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. You should be confident working independently but also thrive as part of a small, close-knit team.

An understanding of the challenges faced by asylum seekers and refugees is crucial, as is a solid grasp of safeguarding principles and experience implementing them. You’ll be organised, with a knack for managing multiple priorities, and tech-savvy enough to navigate our CRM system, Beacon, to keep all our records in order.

Experience working with community groups or delivering programmes in a charity setting would be a bonus. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who can speak additional languages relevant to our service users, such as Pashtu, Dari, Urdu, Arabic, or Farsi, although this is not essential

The Diocese of Truro is committed to responding to God’s call to serve those in poverty. It is a call throughout scripture and the tradition of the church. As SRO you will help parishes and deaneries respond to the social needs in their community. This will focus particularly on the effective use of the Lowest Income Communities Fund, and other resources, to make a real difference to people’s lives.

Much of this work will involve working alongside volunteers and clergy in parishes to identify local need and the appropriate responses to help meet this need; supporting them to develop projects including measures of success. The role is also about promoting the prophetic call to serve those in need; building networks and trusting relationships across the Diocese; and acting as a persistent advocate and champion within, and beyond the Diocese, for those at the margins of society.

You will have significant experience of working with vulnerable people and doing so in in partnership with a range of stakeholders. Being able to manage multiple projects, including budgets; build the capacity of others and be effective and proactive in communicating are all key. An understanding, and appreciation of, God’s call to serve the poor is essential as is being comfortable in talking about Christian faith and theology.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Trust Fundraising Manager with proven experience, to maximise income for Whizz Kidz services from Trusts and Foundations through researching new funding opportunities, creating high quality applications with Service staff and stewarding existing warm funders effectively. 

The Role

As Trust Fundraising Manager you will secure new funding opportunities and work on a pool of warm and cold charitable Trusts with a focus on the £10,000 to £40,000 range.  The role involves researching and qualifying prospects, submitting high quality funding applications and stewarding existing donors effectively. It will also involve managing reporting deadlines and matching potential donors to projects needing to be fundraised for, collaborating with our Service Teams. 

You will prepare applications and reports to trusts and foundations, in line with funder deadlines, keeping in touch with donors and prospects via phone, virtually and face to face. You will match potential donors with projects, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach.

The person

You will have experience of: Securing funding from Trusts with excellent writing and presentation skills; Solid prospect research skills to identify new funding opportunities and maintain a forward pipeline of applications; Of working collaboratively with Service Teams to package and cost project areas; Stewardship of warm funders including preparing donor reports, reviewing financial reports and gathering case studies. You will also have strong time management skills with ability to manage and prioritise your workload and ideally experience of using a CRM for Trust Fundraising.

The Role 
 
As our Deputy Shop Manager you will be responsible for setting up our brand-new shop in Hull, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.

You will manage the day-to-day operation of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager, including managing a team of volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures. You will lead by example and ensure that volunteers, supporters, donors, and customers understand how their contributions are making a difference to the lives of people in Yorkshire and beyond. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Play an active part in running our shop in Hull, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.

• Provide cover for days off, holidays and sickness as required, with possible occasional travel to other shops to provide support if needed by the charity. 

• Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation. 

• Manage a team of well-trained volunteers in the absence of the Shop Manager and take every effort to create a happy retail environment. 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received). 

• Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes. 

• Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 
 

• To be ideally educated to GCSE level or equivalent but not essential.

• To have Experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development.

• To have previous retail experience in charity sector or commercial sector is desirable. 

• To be highly organised with good time management skills.

• To be able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

• To be able to use own initiative.

• To be resilient and adaptable to change. 

• To have good planning, guiding and motivation skills to successfully achieved targeted income is desirable.

• Good written and numeric skills are desirable.

About the Brent Centre for Young People (BCYP)

The Brent Centre for Young People is the leading mental health charity for young people in Northwest London, helping over 700 young people a year with a wide range of issues. We offer specialised treatment in the areas of depression, suicide prevention, tackling self-harm, eating disorders, exam anxiety and more. Our approach is rooted in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. We aim to reach significantly more young people in the years ahead, drawing on our heritage that combines specialist treatment in-house and outreach into communities. The Brent Centre is also an important Research Centre on Adolescent Breakdown and Adolescent Psychotherapy.

Fundraising at BCYP

BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant- makers. We work hard to ensure that we submit excellent, data-driven applications and evaluations. Until now, applications have largely been submitted by our Fundraising Manager- Trusts & Foundations, with occasional support from a freelance bid-writer. We now want to recruit a new member of the team, to help us to grow our income stream in this area and help us to steward these key relationships.

In this exciting newly created role, you will be responsible for helping to grow our income from grant- makers to design and promote funding opportunities, and to steward relationships with supporters through the giving cycle. We are looking for a fundraiser with at least three to four years of experience in identifying prospects and grant-writing, and who has experienced success in securing funds. Vitally, we want to recruit an individual who is as committed to Brent’s vision, and who will work with us to help us be there for young people in the coming years.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises vital funds to help make Alder Hey Children’s Hospital a truly world-class, patient-friendly hospital for the 450,000 patients and families we care for every year. 

The charity helps to fund a range of activities and projects that are designed to enhance and improve the lives of our amazing young patients. This includes the funding of specialist medical equipment to ensure our brilliant surgeons and clinical staff have the most up to date and cutting edge technology available and funding hi-tech distraction equipment designed and proven to reduce pain and anxiety in our patients. We also fund a range of programmes and special projects such as our ward musicians, our on-site magician and the play specialists we have on every ward. 

We have recently closed our Surgical Neonatal Appeal, having successfully raised our £3m target towards a brand new, state of the art Surgical Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the hospital. This year we will be fundraising towards a new Same Day Emergency Care Centre, providing an unrivalled experience for our patients and their families. 

About the role: 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy Corporate Partnerships Team. Reporting into the Corporate Partnerships Manger, the post holder will work with the Corporate Partnerships Team to deliver the corporate fundraising strategy. 

The post holder will be responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate partnerships, stewarding supporters, organising and managing corporate events as well as supporting with content for corporate partner communications. 

Key Responsibilities will include: 

• To assist the Corporate Partnerships Team in delivering against their financial and non-financial targets as specified within the corporate fundraising strategy.

• Income generation.

• Management of your own portfolio of corporate accounts which includes providing outstanding donor stewardship to maximise supporter experience, engagement and funds raised. 

• Organise, manage and execute our corporate fundraising and engagement events such as our Dragon Boat Festival and Golf Day. 

• To work together as a team to grow corporate fundraising income through current partnerships and new business approaches, as agreed with the Head of Corporate Partnerships. 

• Utilise the CRM database to maintain accurate records for data segmentation and for income and other KPI reporting purposes. 

• Create funding reports for external partners when required. 

• Support and attend third-party corporate events as well as wider charity events. 

• Keep up to date with fundraising trends. 

• Communication and stewardship 

• Work with the Corporate Fundraising Manager and Marketing Team to develop a communication plan for corporate accounts. 

• Interact with corporate partners on social media, as well as creating content for platforms such as LinkedIn.

• Create stewardship/development plans for corporate partners. 

• Create and deliver presentations to raise awareness of the work of the Charity.

• Deliver tours of the hospital to supporters autonomously.  To assist the Corporate Partnerships Team in delivering against their financial and non-financial targets as specified within the corporate fundraising strategy.

• Be an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity in line with the core values of the organisation. 

• To act as a spokesperson for the charity when required, including representing at external events as appropriate 

• Be an active and supportive member of the Alder Hey Children’s Charity team, contributing to the team’s development and working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers. Attend and support events run by the fundraising teams where required. 

• Gain and maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the charity’s work, priorities and future plans and act as a spokesperson for the Charity when required, including representing at external events as appropriate. 

• Any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager.

*The charity is currently conducting a four-day working week trial, due to end on 31st March 2025. This means that, for example, staff previously working 37.5 hours a week are now working 30 hours a week to enable a four-day working week. The trial is monitoring the benefits of a four-day working week against productivity. We are confident that by embracing a more flexible and balanced approach to work, we can continue to create a thriving and fulfilling work environment while driving growth and success for our charity. Next steps will be agreed before the 31st March 2025, based on an assessment of the trial period; the four-day working week trial may be ended, extended or adopted permanently. 

This fixed term contract is for 14 months at 28.13 hours per week. As part of our 4-day working week trial (working week Monday to Thursday) working hours required will be 22.5 hours per week if you opt to sign up to the trial and its associated conditions. If the trial was to end after 31st March 2025, the working hours required would return to the contracted weekly hours for this role of 28.13 hours per week. As part of our staff charter, we have a flexible working policy and can consider accommodating a flexible working pattern such as school working hours if requested.
