The Role:
As the Programmes Lead - Sector Improvement, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our sector improvement programmes, providing strategic guidance, and driving change across the HE sector to improve mental health outcomes.
The UMHC framework, launched in 2019, is a set of evidence-informed principles supporting universities to adopt a whole-university approach to mental health and wellbeing. To support its adoption, Student Minds introduced the UMHC Award assessment process and a holistic membership programme (‘Programme’) for universities in 2021.
Through the UMHC Award and Programme, we aim to ensure every university and HE organisation in the UK adopts a strategic, whole-organisation approach to wellbeing and mental health, creating conditions where all students can belong and succeed in the ways that matter to them. This ambitious, impactful programme sits at the heart of the Student Minds strategy.
The Programmes Lead - Sector Improvement will:
- Lead National Programmes: Manage a team delivering the UMHC Programme and Award Assessments, working closely with the Head of Programmes to set strategic direction and ensure successful delivery.
- Recruit and Train Assessors: Lead a team of over 40 Assessors to deliver the UMHC Award Assessment process to approximately 16 universities annually.
- Develop Events and Resources: Plan and deliver conferences, online and in-person events, and resources for our growing membership base (113 universities and counting in 2024/25).
- Build Strategic Relationships: Engage with the HE and mental health sectors to foster partnerships, identify needs, and drive improvement.
- Financial Oversight: Support annual fee reviews and manage a complex programme budget with significant income and expenditure.
- Drive Organisational Thinking: As part of the Leadership Group, contribute to shaping the future of sector improvement opportunities at Student Minds.

Events have long been a core part of Forward Trust strategy. Although sitting within the Fundraising Team, this role will have an organisational-wide remit.

What we are looking for?
As a Senior Events Officer, you will possess the following skills -
- Experience of delivering a wide range of events (including income generating and at least one other)

Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Legacy Manager with demonstrated experience, preferably within the charity sector or comparable commercial environment. The role will involve primarily working from home and must be situated in or near London to attend regular in person meetings with key staff.
Key responsibilities
Take responsibility for a portfolio of around 300 legacy pledgers in order to deepen relationships and offer excellent stewardship to ensure that legacy pledgers feel valued by STUK and their pledge is retained.
Act as the first point of contact for legacy enquiries, both internal and external, responding with authority, sensitivity and diplomacy, so that legacy enquirers and intenders choose to leave STUK a gift in their Will.
Plan and deliver a programme of marketing and advertising to promote legacy giving and grow our pipeline of legacy supporters. This will include contributing to campaign strategy development; producing marketing materials including newsletters; and consulting with the Head of Individual Giving re legacy mailings.
Undertake general legacy communications including developing a tangible legacy vision, make phone calls, arrange one to one meetings and write personal notes/letters.
Organise at least 2 – 3 legacy events per year including post-event follow-up.
Organise legacy stewardship activities such as recognition mechanisms.
Liaise with and oversee the administrative work of Legacy Link, our legacy administrators.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all legacy activity on Salesforce and in shared files.
Provide useful data insight and analysis producing regular statistical, qualitative and financial reports of legacy activity.
Manage in memoriam marketing.
Travel
There is limited but regular travel into London for regular team meetings as well as periodic travel as needed around the UK for meetings with legacy pledgers and to organise legacy events.
Required Education and Experience
5+ years of relevant experience with exposure to legacy marketing and liaison with legacy enquirers, considerers and pledgers preferred.
A proven history of generating significant growth in key legacy metrics such as numbers of legacy enquirers and pledgers.
Demonstrated success in developing substantive donor relationships and in supporting senior management and programme staff, to execute donor and engagement strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with both management and donors.
Extremely detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
Able to take ownership of a process and to use problem solving skills to resolve issues.
Able to make sound decisions based on analysis, experience and judgment.
Able to function both independently and as part of a global team.
Familiar with the MS Office and donor management systems. Knowledge of Salesforce and First Class preferred.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, although an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for this required level of education.

About you:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Community Fundraiser working in Newport/Monmouthshire/Torfaen. As the ideal candidate you must have 3 or more years experience in a Community Fundraising team, with the ability to work on your own autonomously. You’ll have new ideas and a positive attitude.
You will be comfortable meeting with diverse groups of people and developing relationships as well as looking for opportunities to engage. You will have excellent relationship management experience and the ability to work on various project at the same time. You will have experience working with and recruiting supporters and volunteers.
This role is home based but involves occasional travel to our Head Office based in Sully, as well as regular travel throughout the geographical region. Therefore a driving licence and access to a vehicle is needed.
The ability to work flexibly to include evenings and weekends and to align working hours with the needs of our supporters is essential.

About the role:
Reporting to the Community Fundraising Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading on all Community Fundraising within their geographical area.
You will be responsible for developing and growing income and engagement within a defined region whilst also delivering first class account management to existing and new fundraisers.
Working within the Income Generation Team, you will work closely with the Corporate and Major Giving Teams as well as Events and Philanthropy to ensure that all opportunities are maximised.
This role is varied – no two days are the same and will require someone who is able to work autonomously whilst being an integral part of a team.

What you’ll be doing
As Senior Digital Communications Coordinator, you’ll be delivering our digital communication strategy by coordinating the organisation's creative digital content and analysing the impact of our digital communications to increase our impact as a campaigning organisation.
We are looking for someone who can create digital content, implement new and creative approaches to digital communications and analyse impact.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Coordinating the development and delivery of impactful digital communications plans for work across River Action’s Campaigns, Communities, Legal and Fundraising teams.

Working with colleagues across the organisation to gather content including data and images for digital communications.

Writing highly engaging, evidence-based and tactically astute content for digital communications.

Designing digital communications materials using graphics software, videos and photography, adjusting format, style and medium for different platforms and audiences.

Working closely with River Action's Media coordinator, to deliver reactive responses to real-time news stories and press releases.

Collaborate with community activists and groups in gathering new video, audio, photographic and written content for digital communications.

Posting and coordinating social media streams across all platforms (River Action’s prime channels are Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Linkedin).

Actively cultivating River Action’s social media presence by growing the charity’s following across all platforms and supporting our many partner organisations and influencers with supportive posting.

Maintaining River Action’s website, commissioning blogs, and other innovative content, ensuring the website is inspiring, accurate and relevant.

Coordinating the delivery of River Action’s monthly newsletter including gathering content, writing copy and monitoring key indicator analytics.

Monitoring and reporting communications performance and River Action impacts achieved through digital communications including social communications, email communications and website.

Identifying new and innovative digital communications tactics to increase the impact of our work across the organisation.

Testing and analysing the effectiveness of digital communications tactics.

Recruiting and coordinating relationships with key influencers and our alliance of collaborators to promote our work, develop key messaging and profile-raising.

Your purpose
To deliver a high quality experience to schools in your region through expert relationship management and delivery of specific project outcomes: driving high levels of engagement, retention and renewal and enabling Voice 21 to have the greatest impact in each Voice 21 Oracy School.
Your responsibilities
Relationship management and Group Project delivery

Build and manage strong relationships with member schools and key stakeholders at all levels, across your region in order to add value to their membership, driving engagement, long term loyalty and ultimately impact in our schools.

Use your understanding of member schools in your region to create ‘wow moments’ across the membership journey (e.g. dropping in to meet with key stakeholders or setting up virtual networking opportunities).
-
Manage and deliver projects in your region, specifically our large and highly successful Voice North East group project. This includes working as a leading member of the project team, effectively managing project risks and progress toward milestones, sending communications, and reporting to group commissioners or funders on progress.

Represent Voice 21 effectively to external audiences in meetings and events. Develop our regional network through events. Arrange & attend open mornings with current member schools and support with additional event organisation and delivery as required with support from product and events leads.
School journey and experience

Provide an excellent customer experience for member schools and key stakeholders (e.g. Local Authorities and Multi-Academy Trusts) from sign up through to renewal, acting as the first point of contact for your Voice 21 Oracy Schools.

Own the membership journey and school experience for your region, including the underlying processes, activities and comms that support membership.

Gain frontline insights from listening to member schools in your region - collect, track and analyse data about their patterns of behaviour and use these insights to improve their experience.

Use your understanding of our membership offer to support and guide schools in your region to access member benefits that best meet their needs, are most impactful for their students and steward them towards accreditation (e.g. use diagnostic tools to set action plans for the membership year and signpost to Voice 21 products, resources and events).

Bring together data (from our CRM system, our Programme team and impact and engagement monitoring) to understand and own the ‘complete picture’ of each school’s member journey in your region - use insights to manage and increase engagement; proactively share insights gained, internally (e.g. with the Programme team about attendance or school feedback) and externally (reporting to a group project commissioner or funder).

Own membership renewals in your region, helping the Engagement team to deliver our annual school renewal targets (70%+).
