The Role
Our influencing work is changing the UK conversation about domestic abuse, with both national
and locally based elected representatives and the officials and colleagues who work alongside them.
As our Policy and Public Affairs Manager, you’ll lead impactful policy initiatives that align with our mission to end domestic abuse and to ensure support for the whole family, preventing harm, reducing risk and supporting recovery. Working closely with our Head of Public Affairs and Policy, you’ll develop strategies which will amplify our voice and the voice of survivors, and deepen our policy engagement, particularly in relation to multi-agency work, health and family justice.
You will be joining the organisation at a pivotal moment as the new Government makes an explicit commitment to halve VAWG in ten years, including planning a new strategy and a number of new Bills to support this mission This provides an unmissable policy development and influencing opportunity to ensure that SafeLives’ priorities for improving the response to domestic abuse are taken forward by Government.
This is an ideal role for a dynamic and experienced policy manager with a commitment to social change and the prevention of domestic abuse.
You will be based in our London office and/or remote working, with regular meetings in London and occasional travel to other locations around the UK, including our Bristol office.

The Finance Officer – Disability Inclusive Development (DID) will deliver the day-to-day financial administration of the DID programme to ensure all financial requirements of the projects are fully met. Key duties will include:
- To develop, review and amend coordinating and implementing consortium partner contracts and budgets to enable project delivery with the guidance of the Head of Inclusive Futures
- Coordinate the process for timely and accurate donor financial submissions including core monthly financial expenditure reports, forecasts and ad hoc requests.
- Work with the Head of Finance to develop tools to improve financial analysis throughout the project, for instance Power-BI dashboards, using data linked from the programme financial database (MyCLAIMS)
- Support the preparation of financial reports and forecasts for the donor.
- Deliver the day-to-day finance and administration tasks on the DID project including partner transfers, cost recovery, fund management, procurement, manage the assets register.
To succeed in this role you will need:
- An understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity for people with disabilities

To promote NGA. This will include:

What we’re looking for in our ideal Consultant:
- A serving trustee, governor or governance professional/lead or have recently served as a trustee, governor or governance professional/lead, or can satisfy the Head of Consultancy and/or the Head of Training Development that s/he has the experience and skills to carry out the role
- Willing to promote key NGA policy and practice messages, guidance and look to extend NGA’s sphere of influence
- Familiar with the most up to date and relevant Ofsted and DfE guidance
- Willing to adhere to the course materials and guidance provided by NGA
- Prepared to actively promote NGA and its services
- Prepared to refer all opportunities for governance training, and consultancy work to NGA

The Role
The Joint Operations Director (JOD) is a new role at Devon Air Ambulance, bringing together the leadership of all staff involved in the safe and effective delivery of outstanding services to patients. You will provide strategic leadership to our operational staff to ensure we deliver against our strategic objections for prevention, treatment and recovery. The JOD will need to achieve the right balance between compliance and freedom within boundaries to support innovation and empower team members. The role will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and will also be a Director of the Trading Company.
The Candidate
We're seeking an inspirational leader who is collaborative and open and can provide cross-departmental support to all teams, with the ability to achieve strategic goals. The ideal candidate will be able to role model a culture of integrity, honesty and openness with demonstrable experience of working in regulated environments. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to build effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Care Quality Commission (CQC). The candidate will have high levels of resilience and be able to synthesise highly complex and sensitive information, communicating it clearly especially where there are barriers to understanding. As the role will require engagement with communities, staff and supporters across the county, it is essential that the candidate has a full driving licence.

Role Requirements
- Working alongside the Head of Public Fundraising, you will strengthen and implement business planning, pipeline and budgeting processes as well as devise comprehensive audience-led stewardship plans, maintaining momentum and focus to achieve targets.
- Lead the implementation and delivery of the strategy for the Events and Partnerships teams and work with the Head of Public Fundraising and the teams to develop and review strategies to maximise income from events and partnerships
- Manage partnership pipeline including building opportunities with new businesses to increase the range, value and number of partnerships for The Children’s Trust
- Lead the Events team to review and overhaul our current events programme so that we are maximising net income and ROI as well as meeting the needs of our supporters and local community, and building connections and long-term relationships with our events supporters
- Work across the Retail, Fundraising and Communications directorate to maximise opportunities for contact mapping, cross-sell and support the activity of other teams within the directorate (including but not limited to stock donations, sponsorship of committee-led events, pro bono support, gifts in kind etc.)
- Be responsible for the implementation of the budgets and delivery of income and expenditure against the plans
- Bring the Events and Partnerships teams together to ensure that we are seizing opportunities to integrate the programmes, for instance through corporate sponsorships of events, employee volunteering or participation, donated goods for raffles and auctions, match funding and more
- Develop relationships with colleagues across the Public Fundraising Team, wider directorate and organisation to ensure that opportunities for engagement, integration and promotion of events and partnerships are maximised and publicised
