The Head of Fundraising will play a crucial role in driving this expansion by developing and implementing strategic fundraising initiatives, expanding our network of supporters, and ensuring the sustainability of our programs. We are looking for a strategic and collaborative leader with a proven track record in fundraising who can inspire and lead a team and is passionate about using technology for social good.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with Jangala's mission and growth objectives.

• Identifying and securing new funding opportunities across various channels, including corporate partnerships, grants, philanthropy and individual giving.

• Leading, mentoring, and managing the fundraising team, setting clear objectives and ensuring their professional growth.

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential funders, leveraging networks and partnerships to expand Jangala's reach.

• Monitoring and reporting on fundraising performance, adapting strategies to meet or exceed fundraising targets.

Core Requirements:

• Proven experience in fundraising, with a track record of achieving with a track record of achieving six figure grants or contracts.

• Experience working with corporate funders.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic fundraising plans.

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience in one or more of the technology, humanitarian, UK charities or international development sectors.

• Existing network of contacts in relevant areas eg. corporate funders interested in tech 4 good, UK based trust and foundations, global humanitarian funders, and government contacts interested in humanitarian technologies.

• Proven ability to secure multi-year funding commitments.

• Familiarity with open-source technology and its impact on social good.

• Strong strategic vision with the ability to adapt and respond to changing circumstances.

Important details

Jangala’s office is based in London and operates a remote-first working policy. Travel to our London office will be required for mind-mapping and collaborative work at least once a week.

The starting salary for this role is £48,000-£55,000 per annum, with consideration for part-time arrangements.

• Project management experience. Proven achievements in leading payroll-related projects, such as systems implementations or process improvements.

About the role

The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for executing Pro Bono Economics’ (PBE) fundraising strategy under the Director of Development’s guidance. This role focuses on increasing and diversifying income through building relationships with trusts, foundations, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals, while also securing funding for specific research projects in collaboration with the research team. The role includes managing donor engagement, overseeing grant applications, leading a small team, and ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations, all while maintaining operational oversight of the fundraising department.

About you

Report directly to the Director of Development, the Head of Fundraising will have the following experience and skills.

Experience

• You have senior fundraising experience across a broad mix of income streams, a talent for building partnerships, bid writing and a strategic mindset.
• Experience working with research-driven organisations is a plus, as is familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce.
• You are happy to roll up your sleeves and spend as much time focused on immediate management and income priorities as you are on strategy and ideation.
• Will be suited to a senior fundraiser looking for their first Heads of role or someone who has already taken that step.

About the Role

Over the past 7 years, UnLtd have developed and built an investment offer for social purpose organisations. This has included the development and full deployment of two investment funds - UnLtd Impact Fund, and the Thrive Fund. We launched our third investment fund in partnership with Big Issue Invest in December 2022. The Growth Impact Fund is currently a £10m fund focussed on providing capital for diverse-led social purpose organisations.

Reporting into the Director of Delivery & Investment, this person would be responsible and accountable for our investment work across UnLtd. This includes the management of the previously deployed funds as well as management of UnLtd’s role in the delivery of the Growth Impact Fund, specifically the management of the pre and post investment support and the management of our portfolio of investees.

This is a significant role for UnLtd. It requires experience of working on and in an investment fund, managing a complex and ever-changing investment portfolio, as well as the ability to manage a team, and a high-level strategic partnership with Big Issue Invest.

You will lead Woman’s Trust income generation ensuring adequate income to sustain and grow the organisation, increasing its income from £1.3 Million to £3 Million in the next 3 years. While raising funds from multiple income streams, focus growths areas will be statutory and Trust and foundation funding securing six-figure, multiple-year grants and contracts. You will effectively communicate our services and campaign our aims aligned to our strategic priorities.

You will oversee the development and implementation of the fundraising strategy and the funding pipeline; ensure the maintenance and development of excellent relationships with current and new funders, stewarding grants and reporting back; review, update and develop service budgets; oversee the submission or coordination of quality bids, approaches, and events.

As a member of the senior leadership team, this post will work cross departmentally and will contribute to the overall strategy of Woman’s Trust, working closely with the CEO and the Board of Trustees. You will lead and line manage the Senior Trust and Foundation Manager and Fundraising Officer.  You will deliver a direct income target for each year, with a focus on the development and tendering of statutory commissioning.

Hours: 35 hours per week (28 hours will be considered).

Location: Office based with remote working available – minimum of 50% of working hours in Woman’s Trust Office, Edgware Road/Paddington, NW1.

About this role

We are pleased to advertise for a Head of Death Penalty Projects- US to oversee our work against the death penalty in the United States of America. 

Reprieve has worked against the death penalty since our founding. In recent years we have built a particular specialism in issues relating to lethal injection, the most popular execution method in the US. Lethal injection has been touted as more humane than other methods – a modern, clean, clinical way to execute. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Lethal injection executions go wrong more often than any other execution method, often resulting in prolonged and torturous executions, commonly known as “botched” executions. Through our work we aim to dispel the myth of the humane execution, working with allies across medicine, business and other sectors to end the misuse of medicines and medical technology in executions.

The existing portfolio of work includes litigation, investigation and analysis, corporate engagement, a wide range of public and private advocacy, and developing and maintaining world-leading expertise on execution methods, particularly the jurisprudence and science relevant to lethal injection.

Contract, location and salary

The role is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £59,226 per annum less any required deductions for tax and national insurance.Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work a minimum of 40% from the London office and the rest of the week from home. There is the opportunity for international travel in the role.

The Child Brain Injury Trust was originally set up by a group of medical professionals. The organisation has evolved over the years and is now the leading UK organisation supporting families and professionals affected by childhood acquired brain injury. Working in consultation and collaboration with families and professionals, the charity aims to ensure families can access the support they need, when they need it and to ensure they have the best possible chance of reaching their potential.

As Head of our Brain Injury Service, you will be joining the charity at an exciting time, as we have just launched our new five-year strategy – Elevating families, enriching futures. The strategy is our most exciting yet as we look to increase our reach and embed 4 key areas of support: early intervention (currently we work in  major trauma centres and specialist hospitals across the UK), community inclusion, educational services and virtual support.
