Role & Responsibilities
We’re proud to have recently been given funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to complete the next phase of our ‘Reuniting Sydenham Hill Wood & Dulwich Wood’ project.
The project will focus on 27.4 hectares of ancient woodland habitat in the largest remining tract of the Great North Wood in South London. This natural heritage is a vital resource for the local community – the Woods saw an unprecedented 81% increase in footfall during the height of the pandemic, with visitor numbers increasing from 189,645 in 2019 to 343,385 in 2020. Only fragments of the ancient Great North Wood landscape remain; this project will help to ensure the long-term protection of the largest area of remaining Woodland.
As Project Manager, you can expect to:
- Oversee all work, ensuring that all project work is completed on time and to budget as described in the delivery phase, holding quarterly meetings to ensure we’re on track
- liaise and further develop relationships with relevant partners and funders
- oversee procurement and management of contractors in the capital works programme for the Woods, this includes the installation footpaths, conservation fencing, boundary railings, and improved entranceways
- oversee and coordinate the Woodland Activity programme which will be delivered by the Senior Officer - Sydenham Hill Wood & Dulwich Wood & the Learning & Engagement Officer along with volunteers
- to implement a signage & interpretation strategy for Dulwich Wood to enable greater, physical and intellectual access
- liaise with the Trust’s Ecologist & manage Ecology Consultants as required. To oversee the implementation of surveys
Our ideal Project Manager
- Experience of project management including budget management and reporting to funders
- An understanding of urban wildlife conservation issues, including woodland habitat restoration and management
- Experience of managing contractors for capital works & consultants
- Understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity & inclusion
- Experience of managing staff, or substantial experience of formally managing volunteers

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to help shape the strategic direction of a housing association that provides a vital service to the communities of Islington, Hackney and Waltham Forest. You will be a proficient Excel user. Experience of using Power BI will be an advantage, but is not essential.

Mini Malvern Nursery is expanding, and The Downs Malvern are looking to recruit multiple Nursery Practitioners to be part of our incredible team.
Mini Malvern Nursery is for children aged 6 months and up. The nursery comprises of three bright, modern classrooms and two outdoor gardens with adventure play areas, in addition to accessing The Downs Malvern’s beautiful 55-acre site, including a Forest School and a smallholding with pigs, quail, chickens, and sheep.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our youngest children and will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the Nursery provision remains at a consistently high standard. You will have a deep knowledge of Early Years Education and a willingness to nurture and support children in their early development.
This role can be worked on a flexible basis either part time or full time which can be discussed at interview. A full time basis is 40 hours per week.
Mini Malvern is open from 8 am to 6 pm, 49 weeks a year. We close for bank holidays, as well as one week at Easter, one week in August, and one week at Christmas.

Refugee Council is a leading charity supporting refugees and people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK. Providing practical, hands on support, their award winning services include welcoming refugees into local communities across the country, providing specialist children’s services – with a particular focus on refugee children who arrive here alone, helping people to navigate the asylum system, and supporting people to access housing and employment. - Facilitate access to other advice in areas such as financial benefits, debt management, food banks and community food outlets and social housing providers, as necessary.
The role holder must also:
- NVQ Level 3 minimum or equivalent in either employment support/advice, mental health or other relevant area, or equivalent experience gained through work experience in the field.

- Create an organised and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers.
- Actively recruit the correct/specified number volunteers to deliver the stores objectives and KPI's.

- Hold the shop keys, ensuring that the shop is secure whenever it is left unattended.

Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR) exists to relieve the suffering of British wildlife, to encourage respect and tolerance for wildlife and to further its conservation. SWWR strives to do this by:

Our Fundraising Manager is responsible for planning and preparing all fundraising and grants working alongside all departments to ensure projects are fulfilled from inception to fruition.
