OVERVIEW AND JOB PURPOSE
Pump Aid is a dynamic, award winning and growing organisation, which is promoting a radically different approach to aid and development in the WASH sector by establishing Malawi’s first social impact business (Beyond Water) focused on delivering reliable access to clean water for rural communities. We challenge conventional development programmes by taking a business-based approach that ensures long term sustainability and impact for the communities we work with. Clean water results in better health, increases educational attainment and reduces inequality for women and girls across Malawi.
To support our mission we are recruiting a Communications and Fundraising Officer to help deliver on our ambitious growth plans to reach 2 million people by 2030. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated person with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who can plan and create compelling communications to increase awareness of our work and engage new and existing supporters. Furthermore, you will lead on key areas of our fundraising strategy including annual fundraising campaigns, individual giving and small trusts and foundations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- You will lead on defined elements of Pump Aid’s fundraising strategy: scoping, applications, reporting and management (to largely small to medium sized trusts and foundations, community funders and individuals.)
- You will develop and manage a schedule of compelling communications across a number of channels including social media, web and print that will grow engagement with Beyond Water’s mission.
- You will support the Head of Development to pitch to social impact and philanthropic investors by finding creative ways to differentiate ourselves from traditional approaches to international development.
- You will take responsibility for managing and administrating fundraising income, using Salesforce CRM to keep up to date records of donations, keeping donors updated through regular reports and leveraging annual campaigns including the Big Give Christmas Campaign to maximise individual giving donations.
- Maximise the value and duration of donor support through excellent stewardship and relationship management.
- While office hours are notionally 9:00am to 5:30pm, the demands of a business focussed on Africa, with donors in the UK, USA, Europe and Asia mean a degree of flexibility is required.
Candidate Profile
1. Strong experience in planning and executing communications plans across a variety of mediums (social media, website, blog posts, impact reports) to grow awareness and engagement with the work of our social enterprise
2. Demonstrable success in fundraising within the charity sector; scoping, prospecting, proposal writing and reporting.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to present to a variety of audiences
4. Experienced in home working and able to self-motivate and develop and execute personal work and action plans with limited face to face supervision
5. Demonstrable ability to prioritise and manage conflicting outcomes and objectives and ensure the right job is completed at the right time
6. Works well in a small, dynamic team
7. High level of computer literacy – Canva, Microsoft Office, Salesforce or similar CRM software

The role
This is a wide-ranging community fundraising role. Activities include supporting family

comfortable supporting families who stay with us who want to fundraise, as you are

StreetVet relies on its team of over 400 vet and nurse volunteers in 23 locations around the UK to provide free veterinary treatment, funded by grants, corporate and private donors and partners. Since inception in 2016 the charity has treated nearly 3,000 pets and has won numerous awards including the Vet Trust Award for the Most Trusted Veterinary Charity, Purina Better with Pets Prize and Homeless Link Excellence Award for Excellent Support. Main Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be a core member of the Central Team, working closely with the Marketing Team to develop and deliver the income stream for the charity with fundraising strategies that support StreetVet’s mission. This role will have budgetary responsibility and will involve building a donor database, donor and fundraiser stewardship, organising fundraising events, and securing grants and sponsorships.

Responsibilities:
Fundraising Management and Development
• Work with the Head of Marketing to develop and implement a balanced and realistic fundraising strategy, which builds on StreetVet’s strengths and maximises income for the charity.
• Deliver an integrated fundraising programme, which includes corporate partnerships, individual giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, legacies, community and events.
• Ensure all fundraising activity is compliant with GDPR and relevant fundraising regulation and that all data is accurate and maintained efficiently.
• Work with colleagues across StreetVet to proactively identify fundraising opportunities in line with our ethical fundraising policy and procedures, prioritising relationships where our values are aligned and we can achieve the biggest positive net gain for the human/animal bond and animal welfare.
• To maintain and develop the donor CRM platform including building supporter journeys to enhance donor experiences and maximise income for the charity.
• Work with the Head of Marketing to ensure that all opportunities to promote StreetVet and develop our fundraising and supporter engagement experiences are explored and maximised.
• Manage all aspects of finance and reporting relating to fundraising, including annual budgets, monthly reporting and re-forecasting. Provide monthly reports and updates on all fundraising activities and income streams

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Brixton House is looking for an experienced, committed and highly organised Fundraising Manager. The post holder will have a central role in working with the Head of Development to secure grants from mainly trusts and foundations but will also work across other Departments to steward relationships with individual donors, support innovative digital fundraising campaigns, and assist in the delivery of targeted fundraising events.
The Development team is responsible for achieving a minimum voluntary income fundraising target of £300k, increasing over the next 2 years to £550k. Achieving these targets is central to Brixton House realising the creative ambition of our productions and performances, and to delivering our creative engagement programme in the wider community, with a particular focus on the London Borough of Lambeth.
The Fundraising Manager will report to the Head of Development and work collaboratively with colleagues and internal stakeholders across Departments to ensure there is a good fit between fundraising prospects and our programmes, and that our fundraising outputs are aligned with the vision, mission, and values of Brixton House.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Income Generation
- Working with the Head of Development to implement the Income Generation Strategy to diversify our funding, including developing and managing a pipeline of Trusts & Foundations, competitor analysis and prospect development to achieve ambitious fundraising targets.
- Drafting and completing high quality funding applications and compelling funding proposals, including strong narrative storytelling, detailed budgets and comprehensive spending plans.
- Managing relationships with grant makers, writing grant reports, ensuring that deadlines are met and that the work accurately reflects our commitment to the grant makers requirements.
- Ongoing donor relationship management, acknowledging contributions, providing written updates on projects, programme delivery, and effective stewardship to encourage repeat giving.
- Managing and responding to supporter enquiries promptly, providing them with the best experience possible to maximise fundraising opportunities, and maintaining excellent up-to-date and timely records of all fundraising activities.

- Extract and interpret data from our CRM system Spektrix, and other external data sources to gather and process information which strengthens the case for support, and which enhances the quality of funding applications and funding reports.
- Working closely with colleagues in other Departments to ensure our CRM system and processes collect the accurate data required to meet funder requirements.
- Working closely with colleagues in other Departments to assist in the monitoring and evaluation of funded projects, and other activities which enhance the content and quality of reports for funders, trustees, and other key stakeholders.

Church and Christian Engagement Specialist
We’re looking for TWO experienced Church & Christian Engagement Specialists to join World Vision, an important charity helping vulnerable children across the world.
Position: Church and Christian Engagement Specialist
Location: Homebased (positions available covering the north of the M62 corridor or Northern Ireland)
Hours: Full-time and Part-time 15 hours per week (including occasional Sundays)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £12,688 per annum (£30,874 FTE) + good range of benefits

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an amazing fundraiser to join our Church and Christian Engagement team. The heart of our work centres around engaging and inspiring Churches and Christians to join us- through regular giving, one off donations, action and prayer. Whether in churches, at festivals or events you will be sharing World Vision’s work around the world helping the most vulnerable children overcome poverty and experience fullness of life. You will be a confident communicator, a sharer of stories, a focused fundraiser.
You will join a team working across various fundraising and engagement activities throughout the year. You will build and manage your own caseload of external relationships across the UK, combining face-to-face, online and telephone work, to connect with churches and individuals. Using our existing resources, you will offer people the opportunity to join us- whether through sponsoring a child, donating to our work in emergencies, using our discipleship resources or praying for our work around the world.
In this team, we love that each day is different - from online meetings with longstanding church supporters, to meeting new audiences at Christian festivals, or on the road supporting our work on tour with an event partner. As a key member of the team, you'll be confident managing your own workload within the context of our wider team plans, working together with colleagues in wider teams to bring our work alive. You will have an eye for detail and fantastic relationship-building skills. You'll be confident working to targets, and excited about sharing World Vision’s work with new and existing donors.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Confidently building connections with churches and their leaders towards engaging with World Vision’s work, creating opportunities for individual giving or gifts from the church community.
- Using existing resources, campaigns and engagement tools to engage churches and individual Christians to support our work.
- Build a caseload of engaged church contacts to meet or exceed annual fundraising & acquisition goals, managing your time & workload.
- Ensure churches are on the correct supporter journey for their level of engagement, using appropriate touchpoints (telephone, email, meetings, hand written notes etc) to intelligently engage with key contacts. Maintenance of records, use of CRM system, monthly reporting on income and financial management including making sure gifts are properly allocated.
- Sharing WV’s work through in an audience appropriate way, including (but not limited to) presentations to church leaders, speaking in church services, or other external opportunities. Making a clear and compelling ask.
- Attending events (online and in person) to connect with individuals and leaders as a member of the WV team.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent attention to detail and be able to juggle multiple projects/pieces of information and form them into well-ordered activity plans and be able to prioritise.
Key skills required for this role:
- Superb communication skills, both in formal and informal settings
- Fundraising or sales experience
- Strong relational skills, potentially with experience in nurturing relationships towards financial engagement
- A good understanding of the UK church and Christian landscape
