Location: Remote (UK based) / Bristol / London

Salary: £29,450 (Grade 3) per year (plus Inner London Weighting of £3,483.94, if eligible)

Length of contract: Permanent

Hours per week: Full time, 37 hours

Who are Women’s Aid? 

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.   

Purpose of the Trusts Fundraising Officer role:

The Trusts Fundraising Officer is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a rolling programme of prospect identification, research and applications for funding from Trusts and Foundations.

You will be joining our fantastic fundraising team who keep the organisation surviving and thriving by bringing in funding from individual donors and fundraisers, high profile corporate partners, or charitable trusts and foundations, and everything in between. This role will be working with our Senior Trusts and Statutory Officer, responsible for the vital programme of identifying, researching and nurturing new prospects, specifically Trusts, Foundations and Statutory supporters. 

Key duties and responsibilities of the Trusts Fundraising Officer:

  • Prepare core and restricted funding applications to Trusts and Foundations, up to the value £100k, contributing to the team’s annual fundraising targets.
  • Prepare and submit reports and develop stewardship journeys for funders. 
  • Research potential funders to maintain the funding pipeline.
  • Maintain records on all reporting and re-application deadlines, working closely with Finance and project teams as required.

What we are looking for in our Trusts Fundraising Officer:

  • Someone with experience of, or enthusiasm to develop, application-writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, as well as drive, initiative and determination.
  • Diligent with details, skilled at researching prospects and able to work to tight timescales.
  • We value candidates with transferable skills for example from an administration, research or communications background with strong writing abilities.
  • Fundraising experience would be beneficial, but not essential.
