Location

About the Role

The Health Information team work to inform and engage the public with information on cancer prevention, early diagnosis and screening. We use our knowledge and communications expertise to guide and shape activity across the charity including policy, partnerships and fundraising.

What will I be doing?

• Oversee the provision of high quality, accessible and evidence-based health information including maintaining a good understanding of best practice

• Provide strategic direction for CRUK's health information priority topics to maximise impact across public facing channels including but not limited to health marketing, communications and partnerships

• Act as a senior subject matter expert on health information and use of evidence, advising senior internal and external stakeholders (Executive Board, other charities, researchers)

• Act as a senior media spokesperson and provide expert sign-off for health information content used in a range of external channels (including press and policy influencing)

• Provide functional leadership to the health information team, ensuring that their time is prioritised effectively to focus on the areas of greatest impact - including balancing proactive workload and support for other teams.

Overall purpose

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing, leading and implementing key aspects of our communications and engagement strategy. Bridging the gap between senior leadership and delivery, you will be a confident and strategic thinker, but remain excited by the challenge of getting stuck in. Strong copywriting is essential for this role. You will be able to write, edit, and tailor content for different audiences, and publish it across various channels, including the website, social media, emails, and marketing materials. 

You will enjoy variety. Your day could involve operational planning, developing a new campaign, briefing freelancers and agencies, finding compelling stories, creating our Impact Report, speaking with journalists, working on internal communications, or drafting social media posts.

The successful candidate will have strong emotional intelligence, relationship building and negotiation skills. They will be collaborative and creative, drive projects forward, work effectively alongside the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, and bring people together across the organisation. They will provide supportive, effective management to the Communications and Campaigns Officer, and be an internal advocate for the impact our Communications and Engagement can have.

World Obesity Federation is seeking an Events Coordinator to join their team as maternity cover.

World Obesity Federation (WOF) is a worldwide federation with over 100 members and takes a holistic view of obesity from cause and prevention to treatment. WOF is a lead partner to global agencies on obesity, including WHO, and a member of the Global Obesity Coalition.

This position will begin assisting the Events Manager with the events programme and continue as maternity cover in 2025. Main responsibilities will include managing the educational events programme including in person obesity management training courses ‘Scope Schools’ as part of the SCOPE e-learning site held regularly throughout the year, and monthly educational webinars, alongside the Head of Education.

Also working with Head of Policy on medium sized events such as the Global Obesity Forum in person in New York in September 2025, and other smaller policy and fundraising meetings throughout the year. Also included in the role is managing webinars for World Obesity Day and other campaign days.

It will also involve managing the planning of the bi-annual congress the International Congress on Obesity to be held in Mexico City June 2026, overseeing the work of the PCO and organising committees to ensure development is on schedule and key milestones are achieved.

We are excited to recruit for a Head of Content to join their Global Marketing and Communication Team, based from their London office. The purpose of this role is to lead on the commissioning and co-ordinating of compelling content to ensure growth of public support for its environmental mission as well as ensuring stakeholders are updated and inspired about their work. This role oversees audience engagement on social media channels, the web and newsletters. The post-holder has a strong focus on delivery to deadlines, as well as the development and execution of a global content strategy. Working closely with regional colleagues, the role will also ensure that there is effective distribution of content across their global network.

The successful candidate will bring excellent experience of content creation with significant editorial expertise to ensure compelling story-led content. You will have considerable experience in developing and executing successful content strategies across multiple channels with an excellent knowledge of the social media landscape, platforms, and how best to utilise these to grow audiences. You will bring exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to nurture and motivate teams. You will also demonstrate a passion for the cause, bringing a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. In addition, experience of working in a global context or across multiple networks would be an advantage.

The post holder will ensure that our £2 million annual research spend funds the best work.  They will lead funding, governance, public and patient involvement and work closely with the Director for Research, Programmes and Impact to support strategic delivery.

The Head of Research will understand the research landscape and the processes required for research funding and governance.  They must also understand the role that the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) has in supporting this.  The post holder will be a strong communicator who can build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally, and work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.

Who we're looking for:

We are seeking a unique blend of marketer, fundraiser, and data analyst, equipped with the unique ability to analyse and interpret data to drive and evolve campaigns, as well as aid in developing new products. Your natural curiosity will lead you to explore and interrogate all available data points, both online and offline. You'll excel in clearly communicating complex data findings to non-technical colleagues at all levels.

• Campaign Analysis: Collaborate with the Head of Customer Experience (CX) to manage and interpret campaign analysis, providing actionable insights to stakeholders

• Team Collaboration: Work with the CX team to report on testing strategies and segmentations
• Insight Dissemination: Ensure internal stakeholders understand and utilise insights.

Our Direct Marketing Team is part of this department, and recruits and develops supporters. We are seeking a Direct Marketing Officer to join this team to manage and deliver a series of high standard direct marketing campaigns across our Regular Giving programme. This individual will be recruiting, retaining and upgrading regular donors to generate income through a variety of direct marketing methods such as direct dialogue, DRTV, digital, and direct mail. They will be encouraging regular monthly gifts or support via one of our main products such as general Regular Giving and Sponsorship, our Lottery, Value Exchange programme and other methods of committed giving as they arise.
