Job description

Transparency International (UK) are looking for a Senior Coalition Communications Coordinator

You will work for the UK Anti-Corruption Coalition (UKACC) and its Illicit Finance Working Group (IFWG), collaborating with each of its member organisations. The purpose of this role is to coordinate communications activity amongst its member organisations. Communications will largely focus on the UK’s role as a hub for dirty money and range across all channels – from digital and social media to print, broadcast and events.

The Senior Coalition Communications Coordinator will report to the Coalition Policy Manager and perform this within the Transparency International UK advocacy team.

Main responsibilities

  • Coordinate UK Anti-Corruption Coalition members to review, refresh, and develop the Coalition’s communications strategy.
  • Coordinate joint UKACC media responses and coordinating relevant comms activities between comms professionals embedded within member organisations and relevant parliamentary groups.
  • Manage the UK Anti-Corruption Coalition website and social media activities, ensuring the content is relevant to key audiences, compelling and up to date.
  • Responsible for coordinating and producing shared messaging and content for the Coalition informed by audience insight and understanding.
  • Responsible for working with members to design and deliver events that support the Coalition and member objectives.
  • Perform other duties not listed, e.g. help the Coalition Policy Manager complete some tasks and support working groups, including drafting policy consultation submissions and advocacy documents, preparing meeting agendas, and other non-communication functions.

Who we are looking for

  • University undergraduate level degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable and sustained experience of communications and engagement with audiences.
  • Professional experience of working with print, broadcast and digital media operations, alongside experience of working with digital and social media tools, and measuring the impact of related content.
  • Experience of enabling different groups to coordinate and collaborate
  • An ability to identify opportunities for influence and develop a tactical plan to do so
  • The ability to think quickly and innovatively to solve complex and difficult issues, both independently and in collaboration with others
  • Ability to navigate dynamics between various stakeholders with high levels of diplomacy.
  • Ability and confidence to present complex technical information to a non-technical audience.

Why TI-UK?

Transparency International is a global movement sharing one vision: a world in which government politics, business and the daily lives of people are free of corruption. Transparency International UK is the UK national chapter of this movement. We work with the UK and devolved governments, parliamentarians, civil society and the private sector to tackle corruption at home, addressing the UK’s global corruption footprint and helping multinational companies prevent corruption by operating with integrity. We are also home to two major global programmes tackling corruption in the Defence and Security and the Global Health sectors on behalf of the wider Transparency International movement.

What can you expect from us?

  • A collaborative, flexible and friendly working environment where you will be provided with:
  • A competitive salary for our sector

  • Generous annual leave: 28 days plus statutory public / bank holidays as well as a gifted winter holiday break of three to four days each December
  • Enhanced leave beyond statutory requirements to support your parental or caring responsibilities
  • Family friendly policies
  • Additional leave to support your volunteering or community service
  • Aviva Smarthealth to support your physical, mental & financial health.
  • Training and Development related to your role
  • Season ticket loan/ Cycle to work scheme
