Over the past few years, Families in Grief (FiG) has grown significantly to meet the needs of our North Devon and Torridge community. We have just completed a piece of work to expand our reach, enhance our accessibility to healthcare professionals and schools, and broaden our range of services to better support children, young people and families who have been bereaved. We are now looking for an experienced leader with a passion for making a difference to continue this work.

Our aims:

• To provide a credible and high-quality bereavement support service to all grieving families children, young people and families in need of our help.
• To better educate and support professionals who come into contact with bereaved children and young people.
• To improve family relationships after a member of the family dies, to reduce bereaved families' feelings of social isolation, to improve a child or young person’s engagement with school and the wider community for families to learn further about the impact of grief.
• To ensure all families and professionals working with families in North Devon and the Torridge area are aware of FiG’s services.

• Continue to shape the vision: leading FiG with clarity and purpose, ensuring the charity remains responsive to the needs of bereaved families in Northern Devon.
• Drive strategy: collaborating with the Board to develop and implement a rolling 3-year strategic plan that aligns with FiG’s goals and adapts to changing needs. Champion innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring the charity thrives in a dynamic environment.
• Inspire teams: providing inspirational leadership to employees and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration, compassion, and excellence.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Lead the review and development of the Headway brand
• Develop and launch campaigns to raise the profile and reputation of Headway
• Implement campaigns that meet organisational need such as promotion of services, recruitment of volunteers or a shop donation appeal.
• Create and disseminate promotional materials such as an impact report as well as leaflets, flyers, posters and digital assets relating to Headway services.
• Oversee the production of videos, testimonials, and photography for use in promotion of Headway and its services.

As part of a dynamic team delivering the Safeguarding on Transport (ST) project, you will be responsible for developing our community engagement work across Yorkshire as well as supporting our wider UK programme.  The role will require you to engage the public and work closely with British Transport Police, station staff and employees as well as local services in the area. driving inequality. They support our work to hold those in power accountable, uncover new
evidence to support positive change, and empower citizens.

The Bureau has experienced significant growth over the past three years, increasing our annual

income comes from grants, there is strong potential for further fundraising growth, and we are

Role and Responsibilities:
Support from trusts and foundations is our main source of philanthropic income so we are looking
for somebody with experience in grants fundraising who can quickly apply their skills and
expertise. You’ll work closely with our Development Director to report to and liaise with current
funders, manage a pipeline of prospects and submit successful applications to secure new grants.
In addition, you will support in building a major donor programme to diversify and strengthen our
funding base. You will collaborate with colleagues at all levels across the organisation, from impact
producers to reporters to finance and operations, in a supportive and welcoming culture that
values teamwork and shared success.

As an excellent communicator, you will be able to take complex issues and translate them into
clear, compelling narratives that resonate with funders and stakeholders. You will also be
passionate about building strong relationships with our funders and supporters.

While experience in high-net-worth fundraising would be a valuable bonus, it is not essential. You
don’t need to have raised funds for non-profit media before, but you do need to be excited by our
work and able to express The Bureau’s key areas of work and impact in an accessible, accurate and
compelling way. We’re a small team, so you’ll need the willingness to pitch in on fundraising tasks
– big or small – to ensure The Bureau is in the best possible position to pursue its mission.

Skills and Experience:

• Excellent fundraiser with a demonstrable track record of 3+ years’ experience successfully raising significant funds for charities or non-profits and managing relationships with funders (foundations - essential, high net worth individuals - desirable);
• Strong background in managing grants admin, including due diligence and processing agreements;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to speak and write English fluently;
• Great analytical skills, with experience in researching and identifying new funding sources for various projects;
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities;
• Experience of working with databases and funding pipelines;
• Exceptional time management skills, a professional attitude, and meticulous attention to detail;
• Resourceful and able to think creatively with strong problem-solving skills;

Purpose of Role

The Portfolio Manager will play a key role in the success of the team responsible for Comic Relief’s funding programme focused on tackling the effects of poverty.

The Portfolio Manager will hold direct responsibility for a number of investments with Funded Partners, both in the UK and internationally, ensuring excellent grant making practice, and be responsible for managing funding calls.

Funding management and relationships

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program is a twice-a-year intensive training program enabling cohorts of 8-16 exceptionally talented international entrepreneurs and nonprofit professionals to launch outstandingly cost-effective, evidence-based new nonprofits in the space of two months. 

The program chiefly consists of a twice-annual sequence.

• Preparing the upcoming cohort and running the initial book club where participants deep dive into our handbook and the recommended idea reports

• The two-month program itself, which includes a 2+ week in-person section and consists of training and coaching participants to select co-founders and ideas

• Post-program support to the new founders, providing ongoing guidance and facilitating connections with our networks of mentors and alumni.

The Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program team chiefly consists of ~two FTE preparing and running the program and  interacting regularly with the recruitment team (for finding and selecting the ideal program candidates), the research team (for selecting and adapting the ideal charity ideas for the program participants), and the operations team (for supporting the incubated projects immediately upon launch through the program). ABOUT YOU

The role is most suitable for a mid-level professional (3-5+ years of experience) with a background in running programs or nonprofit organisations. An ideal candidate may bring experience in launching and implementing new or early-stage programs or in conducting earlier stage intervention research or monitoring & evaluation work, particularly in LMIC contexts. APPLICATION PROCESS

Our application processes aim to be highly predictive, time-effective, and informative for you. The role

We are looking to recruit a fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) FP&A Manager to lead a newly established Business Planning team for the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The Foundation has an annual expenditure of £17m and employs 180 people in the UK, Ireland, India and the USA. We are anticipating further growth in the coming years. 

Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead all aspects of the annual business planning and budgeting cycle and monthly reporting to the Foundation’s management and Trustees. Today, over 2 million farmers participate in Better Cotton's programmes globally.

In this role, you will be part of the Global Programmes & Partnerships team, supporting our programme partners to achieve this ambitious objective and helping Better Cotton producers improve their labour practices. As part of the global partnership team, you will work closely with country teams to translate Better Cotton Standard requirements into context-appropriate action plans and set producers on the path towards continuous improvement.

• Leading capacity-building initiatives, provide technical guidance, and support programmatic alignment at both global and country levels. 

Responsibilities 

We are seeking a motivated Partnerships Manager – Labour Rights to join our Global Programmes & Partnerships team. In this role, you will:

Standard Implementation Support

• Provide technical support to country teams and programme partners to ensure the effective implementation of the Decent Work Principle of the Better Cotton Standard (Principles & Criteria) aiming at improving the working conditions of workers and farmers across smallholder, medium and large farm contexts. 
• Collaborate with country teams and programme partners to ensure a shared understanding of the Decent Work Principle of the Better Cotton Standard.
• Provide technical assistance on local adaptation of the Better Cotton Standard through tailored capacity-strengthening strategies such as trainings, workshops, and webinars.
• Guide the design and alignment of capacity strengthening strategies on decent work at the global and country levels.
• Develop and test implementation guidance materials through consultations, pilots, and engagement with experts and partners.
• Ensure cross-functional coordination and organisational learning related to decent work and capacity-strengthening efforts.
• Develop frameworks for monitoring and evaluating decent work initiatives.
• Coordinate regular reporting and ensure that organisational learning informs programmatic improvements.

Country Programmes Support

• Support country teams with implementing decent work components, addressing labour issues, and integrating gender as a cross-cutting theme.

• Assist in operationalising the “assess and address” approach to labour monitoring, scaling best practices across diverse country contexts.

• Assess the capacities of programme partners to meet Better Cotton’s due diligence requirements with regards to ensuring adequate working conditions of their employees, especially field staff and creating capacity strengthening action plans to address any gaps identified. 
• Ensure an understanding of these issues and the need to take ownership for effectively addressing them at the organisational level, assisting in establishing or improving their organisational systems to address potential rights violations faced by their staff and external community members affected by their business operations through effective grievance mechanisms;
• Assist in partners’ due diligence from a labour rights perspective, ensuring gaps are addressed with corrective actions.
• Support programme partners in implementing labour rights recommendations, including by providing training and technical guidance. Oversee their progress in line with defined deliverables.
• Ensure that programme partnership agreements reflect commitments to human and labour rights protection.  Would add in supporting with the development of partnership management tools including partnership agreements and relevant annexes to ensure that labour rights requirements are appropriately incorporated.

Complaints Management

• Manage complaints related to labour rights violations submitted to Better Cotton, ensuring timely investigation and resolution in collaboration with Better Cotton’s Complaints Management focal points at global and country levels.  
• Oversee investigations and follow up on corrective actions for responsible case closure.
• Ensure that appropriate learning takes place following the closure of investigations (including mapping locally available support services and external grievance mechanisms)
• Develop guidelines detailing appropriate follow up and response to different types of labour and human rights concerns depending on severity and other criteria.

Brainstrust is a charity dedicated to helping people with brain tumours and their families. We provide comprehensive support services, information, and assistance to enhance the quality of life for those affected by brain tumours. Our work is backed by a thriving portfolio of funders, and we are seeking a talented Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Manager to join our passionate team.

As the Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in securing funding from trusts, foundations, and on occasion, corporate and statutory sources to support brainstrust’s vital work. You will be responsible for managing and growing our portfolio of funders, ensuring excellent stewardship, and identifying new funding opportunities.

Contract Type: part-time: 2-3 days per week, negotiable. We would also consider engaging with the right candidate on a contract, or freelance basis.

Dartington Service Design Lab is an internationally respected social research and design charity focussed on using evidence to help those working with children and young people have a greater impact. We have over 60 years of experience working across the public and voluntary sectors to improve the lives of children and young people. 

We are seeking an individual experienced in developing bids in response to tenders and other partnerships. The role will lead the end-to-end bidding process, from identifying and nurturing suitable applied research, service design and consultancy opportunities and invitations to tender, developing compelling proposals (involving the wider team as required), managing bid submissions, adherence to compliance requirements and deadlines, and supporting the team with preparation for interviews. Successful candidates will have at least three years’ experience in a bidding or business development role, within the social research, consulting or charity sector. Key responsibilities are outlined in the job description document.

As a team, we operate remotely across the UK. The successful candidate may be based anywhere in the UK. Our staff tend to work from home or when appropriate, together in local co-working spaces, and normally, every quarter we meet as a whole team in our beautiful Devon office.
