Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR) exists to relieve the suffering of British wildlife, to encourage respect and tolerance for wildlife and to further its conservation. SWWR strives to do this by:
· providing a public rescue, rehabilitation, and release service for injured, sick and orphaned wildlife.
· providing a learning and outreach programme, public education, and access to a unique wildlife experience.
· disseminating information and data, delivering professional training, and helping conservation projects, to improve knowledge and raise standards of wildlife care across the UK.
To maximise the potential funding available for Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR), particularly through obtaining grants from trusts, foundations, local authorities and other sources.
This role will also be responsible for enhancing the reach and value of legacy fundraising at SWWR and building strong relationships with corporate supporters to help secure the financial sustainability of the Charity.
Our Fundraising Manager is responsible for planning and preparing all fundraising and grants working alongside all departments to ensure projects are fulfilled from inception to fruition. The post holder takes care of medium- to long-term activities, budgeting, planning and strategy, as well as being responsive to emerging opportunities and adapting to change. The Fundraising Manager is also the main point of contact for new and existing supporters, providing support and stewardship to the amazing individuals and organisations who want to help wildlife.
Alongside the above, the Fundraising Manager will also provide support to the current fundraising personnel and activities at SWWR, coordinating and supporting a range of tasks and functions to aid in the smooth running of the Charity.
Fundraising is integrated into every part of SWWR’s operations. The Fundraising Manager works closely with colleagues in Education, Retail, Events, Finance, Volunteering, and Wildlife Care to understand their needs and provide support to aid in the smooth running of the Charity.
SWWR’s annual operational costs are approximately £900,000. The majority of funding is raised through supporter donations, fundraising events, trading activities and legacies.

With an attractive portfolio of diverse conservation projects nationally and internationally (habitat creation and restoration, species recovery and people engagement), you will have the opportunity to develop new income-generating relationships and present the RSPB’s work in ways that inspire and allow Trusts and Foundations to have a major impact to save nature.
The role will help identify potential funders through desk research & phone calls, craft relevant approaches to donors and produce tailored grant applications. The role will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive overview of donor interactions via Salesforce CRM software and ensure donor retention through the delivery of progress updates and impact reports. Superb relationship-building skills and excellent communication abilities will be instrumental in creating new partnership opportunities, shaping proposals and securing major five- and six-figure support from national and international donors for the RSPB’s conservation projects.

About Fundraising at CARAS
CARAS offers holistic early-action support to refugees and people seeking asylum, ensuring individuals have the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive in the UK. Founded in 2008, we have co-created our thriving adult and youth services in partnership with CARAS community members over the last 16 years and now run a thriving weekly provision of social and educational programming delivered alongside wrap-around casework support.
The growth in our service has been underpinned by great success in fundraising which has allowed us to consistently grow year on year, with our current annual budget now standing at approximately £750,000. Fundraising is led by the Head of Development and Impact. St. Joseph's Hospice Merseyside is the oldest and largest hospice on Merseyside, providing specialized end-of-life care for patients with a wide range of life-limiting conditions. The hospice's 31-bed Inpatient Unit is located in a beautiful setting within a conservation area and 12 acres of natural woodland in Thornton, Merseyside. The hospice's specialist healthcare teams care for over 200 patients and their families from across Liverpool, Sefton, and West Lancashire every year. Our services are free to our patients and it costs around £10k per day to run the hospice.
With the changing horizon of Fundraising, this is a new role for the hospice and pivotal to our future income generation activity for the Charity. The Income & Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to raise funds and secure partnerships for the hospice. They will lead the existing Hospice fundraising team, identify new sources of income, build and maintain relationships with donors and supporters, and manage fundraising events.

Our partner is a leading environmental organisation with impactful programmes in PNG. They are seeking a Finance Director to oversee the finance function; provide strategic analysis and advisory support; and to lead through succession planning and capacity strengthening within the country office.
Responsibilities
- Financial oversight of the programme – this includes ensuring that there is a strong control environment across the HQ and regional offices, that policies and guidelines are properly understood and implemented, properly manage and account for income, and monitor banking, cash and cash advances and expenditure.
- Prepare and submit the annual accounts & statutory returns, ensuring that these are compliant with local laws and requirements.
- Financial management – creation and review of the organisational budget, oversee the monthly close and reconciliations, and prepare financial & KPI reports, and cashflow management.
- Grants compliance, management and reporting – supporting in budget creation for new grants proposals, monitoring expenditure versus grants income, ensuring that all project finance activities are compliant with grants requirements, providing financial oversight to sub-grantees, and preparing donor/grants reports.

Requirements
- A bachelors degree in accounting or finance; additionally an MBA or an accounting qualification is strongly preferred.
- Senior finance professional with at least five years of experience of leading the country finance function of a charity that is complex, both in terms of projects, but also portfolio of funding. Previous experience of working in a complex environment such as PNG is desirable.
- Willing to be hands on, alongside offering strategic advisory support.
- Strong technical accounting, financial management, reporting and grants compliance, management and reporting experience.
- Significant experience in the compliance and management of grants from institutional donors, including the US and European governments.

PROJECT MANAGER
THE ABBEY OF ST EDMUND: A MILLENNIUM OF ENGLISH HISTORY IN WEST SUFFOLK
Thanks to National Lottery players, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, in partnership with West Suffolk Council and English Heritage, has received a Development Phase grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to conserve the Abbey of St Edmund ruins, deliver universal access through a network of footpaths, and build a heritage welcome centre within a line of listed buildings facing the town’s public space.
We are now looking for a Project Manager to co-ordinate and assist in the management of the development phase, which will last until February 2026. If we are successful in our delivery phase application, the role will continue for a further three years. We’re looking for someone with:
- Similar project management experience, at a comparable level of cost and complexity, especially working on Heritage Fund projects.
- Experience of working on projects with complex structures (we have three project partners: St Edmundsbury Cathedral, English Heritage and West Suffolk Council).
- A good understanding of audiences for heritage to enable activity planning and audience development to take place alongside the capital and design works.
Flexible working, but must be on site at least 2 days a week.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser or a candidate with transferrable skills who is looking for their next challenge.
This fundraising role is varied and fun and may suit someone who has worked in fundraising for a few years and understands the diverse range of responsibilities that come with the role. You should be able to work well in a small team and be prepared to adapt cheerfully to changes and challenges that may crop up daily.
Your main area of responsibility will be for generating income by writing proposals to Trust and Foundations, working with service managers across the country to research and build compelling cases for support across the organisation.
We are looking for someone who can secure multi-year grants and core funding support through creating high value applications and also have the skills to research and fire off multiple applications to smaller trusts for small projects on a daily basis.
Experience in meeting fundraising targets would be useful but not essential. An important aspect of the role will be maintaining up to date reporting systems of approaches and successes and fulfilling grant obligations to funders.
As part of a small fundraising team and you will also work with your colleagues to further develop the Walk for Autism fundraising campaign and be instrumental in developing a high quality supporter journey using email, texts and social media. Developing digital fundraising is one of our main strategies so a willingness to learn new skills in this area is a key part of the role.
You will be required to work outside of office hours occasionally with some travel to services around the UK. It would be helpful to have a driving licence but it’s not essential. This position is subject to a Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) that will be met by Autism Initiatives.

VOICES are excited to be seeking our first full time fundraiser to support our growth and development. We are looking for an individual who has relevant sector experience, a good knowledge and understanding of fundraising and a commitment to working in a trauma informed way. As a survivor led organisation, we are looking for someone who shares our ethos and will be proactive in consulting with our Lived Experience Group(s).
You will work closely with the CEO to help secure the long-term future of VOICES, through expanding and diversifying our income generation.
With a good understanding and knowledge of grants and trusts fundraising, you will also help direct our future – with consideration to community fundraising, charity shop and/or social enterprise. Whilst we’ve many ideas about what it might look like, no decisions have yet been made and we’re keen to work collaboratively with our new fundraiser and hear their vision.
At VOICES, we have big ambitions which would cement our role as sector leader in recovery services and ensuring survivors’ voices remain at the heart of policy and practice.
This role will also involve working to help develop VOICES’ name, increasing community awareness of our charity. You will therefore bring with you, knowledge of social media, marketing and communications and/or a willingness to learn.
Please be aware that due to the nature of the services delivered by VOICES in our safe space centre, this role is restricted to those assigned the gender female at birth in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, oversee and actively lead the implementation of a fundraising strategy which exploits a wide range of fundraising opportunities, maintains diverse and sustainable income streams, and builds the organisation’s voluntary income capacity to meet its aims and objectives.
- Oversee and support the development of fundraising, with consideration to diversifying our income avenues.
- Working closely with the CEO and Finance Assistant, maintain an overview of funding across the organisation and analyse income sources to manage the fundraising strategy, assess progress against targets and contribute towards our financial capacity.
- Absorb the knowledge of the team and consult with them regarding priorities, representation, approach and model.
- Work with the CEO to develop high quality grants and trusts applications (our current main source of income).
- Build on our existing corporate partnerships and establish / develop new corporate partnerships for VOICES.
- Attend Finance Committee meetings and the Board of Trustees, reporting on fundraising and progress against the strategy.
- Help to grow the name of VOICES, through use of relationships, partnerships, marketing and communications.
- Work closely with the Centre Administrator to agree a planned approach to social media.
- Working with the VOICES team, consider the role of volunteers in VOICES – taking management responsibility for any fundraising volunteers.
- In line with our trauma-informed ethos, adopt a trauma-informed approach.
- Work with clients, including the Lived Experience Group, to hear their ideas for fundraising and enable their participation in events / volunteer opportunities where appropriate.
- Develop and maintain relationships with a variety of key stakeholders including Clients, funders (including trusts, companies, major donors), Trustees and volunteers.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate fundraising activities, taking corrective action or enhancing them when necessary

Job Purpose
As the Head of Fundraising, your primary responsibility is to lead the strategic direction and execution of Village Water’s fundraising efforts, with a focus on diversifying income streams and maximising revenue generation. You will oversee all fundraising activities, particularly in Trusts and Foundations (both UK and International), corporate partnerships, High Value Donors, and statutory bodies. Your role involves crafting compelling funding applications and reports, creating an ambitious fundraising strategy, applying for and securing large multi-year grants from new and existing donors, ensuring exemplary donor stewardship, and fostering collaboration across teams to achieve fundraising goals.
Responsibilities
• Develop and refine a comprehensive fundraising strategy, with a specific emphasis on Trusts and Foundations & corporate fundraising, to ensure a steady pipeline of funding opportunities. Coordinate with team members to meet fundraising targets effectively and manage donation pipelines working with CEO and Finance manager to ensure the pipeline matches the cashflow.
• Directly oversee and support your team members, conduct performance evaluations, and provide coaching to ensure both individual and team objectives are achieved. (currently the team is 3)
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential donors, including Trusts, Foundations, Corporates and Statutory bodies, through proactive engagement and personalized stewardship.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues to develop persuasive proposals and impactful reports that effectively communicate Village Water’s mission and achievements.
• Plan and implement annual fundraising campaigns.
• Work closely with monitoring and finance teams to accurately assess impact and budgetary needs, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to donors.
• Maintain accurate donor records and ensure compliance with data protection regulations within Village Water’s database.
General
• Foster a collaborative work environment by engaging with staff, volunteers, suppliers, and local partners.
• Actively participate in networking events to expand Village Water’s connections and fundraising opportunities.
• Provide regular updates at team meetings and Trustee meetings as required.
• Offer support for other fundraising activities as needed, promoting a culture of teamwork and shared success.

Skills and Experience

• Proven track record in securing funds from Trusts and Foundations, Corporates and Statutory, including large awards.
• Experience in securing multi-year grant support, including both restricted and unrestricted funding.
• Familiarity with complex application and reporting processes.
• Strong donor stewardship skills, with the ability to cultivate and maintain successful relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of crafting compelling cases for support and presenting Village Water’s work effectively.
• Proficiency in financial management and budget analysis.
• Familiarity with relevant software and databases, including Microsoft Office 365 and Salesforce or similar.

The Development Officer (Trusts & Foundations) will join a small, dedicated team responsible for securing income from charitable trusts, foundations and grant making bodies in the UK and internationally in support of agreed University priorities, including Health-UEA Climate-UEA and various campus projects.
Reporting to the Senior Development Manager (Trusts & Foundations) you will apply for and manage grants whilst also managing the research of new funding opportunities for the team.
Educated to degree level, or with equivalent relevant qualification or experience, you will have excellent organisational and time management skills; strong interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; and an aptitude for face-to-face fundraising. Full training will be provided in fundraising/managing of relationships with volunteers and supporters.
