As this is an apprentice role you will have a designated 1 day a week to undertake apprenticeship related activity or focused study – this will be agreed with your line manager. 

 
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following: 

• Ability to meet the entry requirements for a Level 3 HR Support Apprentice Programme and undertake the studying and course work required to complete the course.  
• Proficient in use of MS office applications, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.

A little bit about the role 

We seek a graduate with excellent communication skills for our Recruitment team. You must be able to manage data, multitask, and adapt to dynamic environments. Enhance Frontline’s social worker training selection process with autonomy and a commitment to continuous improvement.

The Recruitment team is responsible for sourcing, selecting and hiring for 500 places for Approach Social Work (previously known as the Frontline programme) in local authorities across England.

We think the internship at Frontline is unlike other internships. You’ll be given plenty of opportunity to develop key skills for your future career, while also holding a core role within the team. You will be joining us at our busiest time and so will have day to day coordinator responsibilities throughout the year. This makes it a great first step into your career as you’ll have real practical examples to take forward. Some key responsibilities include:

About the role

The Programme Coordinator will primarily be responsible for supporting Money Heroes, our largest primary programme designed to develop the financial capability of children across England and Wales. Money Heroes provides resources, training and mentoring for primary schools, as well as storybooks, games and other materials to supplement learning about money at school and in the home.

The Programme Coordinator will work closely with the Programme Manager and the Money Heroes team to ensure the smooth running of the programme, including coordinating content development and website updates, supporting the delivery of teacher training events, supporting the marketing and promotion of the programme, and supporting ongoing monitoring and evaluation. The role also works more broadly across the whole of the Programmes and Services team to ensure joined-up cohesive support is offered internally and externally to staff, teachers and other educators.

The post holder will be responsible for providing high-level customer service both internally and externally to a variety of people including teachers and other educators and YE staff. This role will also provide ongoing support to ensure we are effectively communicating the aims and objectives of our programmes to external stakeholders through newsletters, social media and email campaigns.

Recognising the huge barriers people who have served a sentence face to re-entering the workplace, we realised a specialized service was needed. You’ll be working with the local church to manage the delivery of Resurgo's award-winning Spear Programme. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.

Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]

• Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme
• Building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture, and attitudes in the training room
• Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively
• Handling safeguarding
• Taking a lead on rating the work readiness of the trainees and making sure data is inputted and used correctly on salesforce
• Tracking trainee progress on the dashboards
• Liaising with volunteers for key programme engagement events such as mock interviews and external panels. Leading on briefings and communications with these volunteers

Delivery of Spear Career [20%]

• Delivering weekly Spear Career sessions (including running workshops with past Trainees), maintaining records and reporting on statistics, and creatively developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees

Training the Graduate Coach [10%]

• Contributing towards the training and developing of the Graduate Coach by modelling excellent coaching and giving regular feedback

Trainee recruitment [10%]

• Developing relationships with Job Centres and local referral agencies to ensure that the maximum number of Spear Trainees are enrolled on each programme. This involves liaising with referral agencies, active face-to-face recruitment and monitoring recruitment statistics

Continuous professional development

• Continually engaging in professional development, including being part of Resurgo’s wider coaching programmes and possibly supporting on leading internal training such as Grad Coach Training

Active participation in and support for church team and mission

• As the Spear programme is run in partnership with a local church partner, you will establish a strong personal connection with the church to develop the engagement and backing of church members and help build a strong network of supporters for the Spear programme. As part of this you may be asked to speak at church/events and contribute to prayer meetings as per Resurgo’s Christian ethos and the mission of the church

Depending on experience, the role will support our programmes challenging economic injustice caused by environmental damage, biodiversity loss, deforestation, illegal resource trafficking, climate change and conflicts over natural resources; promoting transparency and accountability in public and private institutions to encourage responsibility and minimise the impacts of corruption; and promoting fairer and more effective economic and fiscal policy tools to help states meet development goals and enhance the rule of law. Working as part of a small, busy team, you will have the opportunity to learn at very close hand what it means to work for an international NGO focusing on achieving environmental and economic justice. You will develop projects with a range of partners, including international agencies, NGOs and CSOs, and governments and government bodies. You will collaborate with a range of volunteer lawyers (law firms and barristers chambers) who are leading experts in their field. The role will also involve project management, assistance with fundraising, fulfilling compliance obligations, and evaluating and learning from projects.

Key Competencies:
• Relevant experience and knowledge (either from previous work experience or study) relating to environmental law and policy and/or economic justice in an international development context;
• A law graduate with a good understanding of how law is useful to achieving reform on the above;
• Demonstrable understanding (either from previous work experience or study) of key issues in sustainable international development, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals;
• Experience in developing countries and transitional economies;
• Ability to develop and manage relationships with a range of stakeholders, including donors, NGOs, civil society organisations and government representatives, on an international basis;
• Familiarity with, or understanding and enthusiasm for the concept and practice of, pro bono legal assistance;
• Demonstrable project management skills and experience, including administration and coordination;
• Ability to work on a wide range of tasks simultaneously;
• Excellent research skills to effectively convey research findings;
• Comfortable working independently and proactively and as part of a small team with a busy caseload;
• Strong interpersonal and team working skills;
• Some experience or demonstrable ability in donor management, including managing existing relationships, meeting donor reporting requirements and in raising funds for future projects and activities (desirable);
• Working knowledge of another language used in Sub-Saharan Africa or Latin America such as French, Portuguese, Kiswahili or Spanish (desirable).

Key Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with the Senior Legal Managers and/or Legal Manager to deliver and implement the programme strategy, in conjunction with the Executive Director, partners, staff and Board;
2. Assist in developing an understanding of the most effective policy tools and legal interventions to deliver the programme objectives, through engagement with volunteer lawyers, ILP partners, staff, Board and others;
3. Support the building and maintenance of ILP’s programme(s). This includes:
• Liaising with partners to identify legal/policy needs and offer potential legal and/or policy reform solutions, including through conducting legal analysis;
• Assisting the programme lead(s) to build a pipeline of relevant projects and cases, including through engaging in outreach to potential pro bono partners;
• Supporting programme staff to network and build relationships with volunteer lawyers who have relevant technical expertise;
• Mapping and developing relationships with regional and international development entities and other technical assistance providers to identify potential partners, needs and focus countries;
• Representing the programme(s) in external fora and events;
4. Assist with ensuring effective project delivery and evaluation of impact including:
• Coordinating project implementation through the full project cycle;
• Supporting the preparation of financial and narrative reports for donors;
• Maintaining strong programme management and knowledge management systems and processes;
5. Support fundraising activities to support both the programme(s) and organisational overheads, including exploring opportunities for potential funding and assisting with funding applications;
6. Share in the necessary operational activities of the organisation. This includes some administration and contributions to website and social media communications.

• Location:Flexible for the right candidate including those outside the UK. Office premises are located in central London, with hybrid working (approx. 2 days per week in the office) if London-based.

Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre

Church Community

• The Spear Coach is directly employed by Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community

40% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard. Chapter One is a fast-growing charity, with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills they need to thrive. We work to ensure that all children have 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.

Our Early Literacy Intervention (ELI) programme (based on a model that serves 20,000 children successfully in the USA) provides daily, 1:1, 7 minute phonics sessions for children who are behind in phonics. Using a bespoke technology tool, a trained Early Literacy Interventionist works individually with target children. 

We are seeking a part-time Early Literacy Interventionist (ELI), based at Galleywall Primary School in Southwark, South London. This ELI role, reporting to the Schools Development Manager, is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and grow their knowledge of phonics and/or their teaching skill set. It is ideal for someone with previous school experience who is looking for a new and exciting challenge.

For your caseload of target children, you will conduct an initial baseline assessment and then deliver differentiated, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach. Although you are employed by Chapter One, you will work closely with the school team to understand the progression of the school’s phonics teaching; establish tailored plans for each child and feedback on pupil progress. Using your knowledge and insight, you will also collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.
