Business Development Manager
Birmingham LGBT is seeking to recruit a Business Development Manager (BDM) to work closely with the Director to grow the business activities of Birmingham LGBT. The BDM’s core purpose is to work with the Director, the management team and the Board of Trustees to identify and develop new business and funding opportunities to help Birmingham LGBT to meet its charitable objectives.
We recognise the importance and advantages of diverse workplaces and communities, and we acknowledge under-representation in our workforce of Black, Asian and global majority people; people with a Romany or Irish Traveller background, and people with lived experience of migration. We are seeking a highly organised and methodical individual to provide administrative support to the CEO Department. Key responsibilities include:

· providing logistical support to key governance meetings and events

The Heaney Cluster an intensively supported housing scheme for the most challenging customers in the borough. The majority of the customers come with a history of entrenched rough sleeping; often coupled with enduring mental health difficulties. The aim is to offer a home to those who would have difficulty finding accommodation because of their lifestyle choices involving extreme drug and alcohol misuse. The high support hostel caters for eleven service users with complex needs and is staffed 24 hours a day with the minimum of three staff on duty. The medium support services are staffed from 9am to 9pm where the customers present with varying degrees of mental health issues.
Enhanced Support Workers will devise person centered support plans with customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet their needs and goals. This will include sign posting them to the local drug and alcohol services to address substance misuse issues. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.

What you'll do:

Duties & Responsibilities

- Execute an annual volunteer recruitment plan, including volunteer induction, training, and management.
- Building Fundraising Relationships
- Provide excellent stewardship to supporters, expanding the network of individuals, groups, and corporate supporters.
- Follow up on leads from the Hot Prospect Action List and represent Marie Curie confidently in various settings.
- Support high-value event participants to achieve targets and deliver excellent service to the public, encouraging support.

Are you interested in supporting people at immediate risk of rough sleeping and making a real difference to the lives of people who are homeless?
We are looking for people to join this exciting pilot as Night Assessment Worker. The service delivers a new approach to preventing rough sleeping, through the provision of accommodation with onsite specialist move-on support to those who are at immediate risk of sleeping rough. The service will provide a route and support for single homeless clients who are presenting to the Local Authority Housing Options or day centres who have not been sleeping rough yet but who are at imminent risk of this happening.
Where homelessness cannot be prevented by the council a referral can be made into the Rough Sleeping Prevention Project, which is run across London to support as many people as possible. The service will work in partnership with the local authority to secure onward move-on options e.g. access the council (Private Rented Sector) PRS scheme, advocating for access to supported housing.
In these roles, you will work in our Islington Assessment hub space for up to 15 clients where the team delivers casework and support, provides each person with a comprehensive assessment of their needs and intensive specialist support to secure move on. In the rewarding role of a Night Assessment Worker, you will:
- Work as part of a busy team environment working closely with those affected by homelessness.
- Provide a safe and supportive environment at night to clients; and support a team of Assessment and Reconnection Workers, with key tasks, such as implementing reconnection or assessment plans and supporting clients in appropriate accommodation.
- Work on a 2 week rolling night shift rota with an average of 3-4 waking night shifts in a row (shifts are typically 8pm-8:30am).

Well House is a crisis house supported accommodation service that supports individuals for between 14 and 28 days as an alternative to requiring hospital admission for their mental health needs. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure members of the local community are able to access critical mental health support at all hours.
