THE ROLE
This role at The Girls’ Network, will be responsible for overseeing the charity’s finance, operations, HR, governance, and compliance functions. As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), you will play a key role in shaping the organisation’s strategic direction and ensuring its long-term sustainability. You’ll provide expert advice to the CEO and Board, lead on business planning and risk management, and manage the Finance and Operations team to deliver efficient, high-quality internal systems and support. With a focus on continuous improvement, equity, and organisational effectiveness, this role is essential to helping The Girls’ Network grow its impact and support more girls to achieve their ambitions.
Key Activities
Leadership and Governance
- Support the organisation in reviewing and implementing improved systems and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- As a Senior Management Team (SMT) member, take a leading role in The Girls' Network's strategic and operational leadership.
- Provide expert support and guidance to the CEO on legal and governance duties as a charity.
- Work with the CEO and Chair of Finance and Audit Committee to set agendas and lead on producing papers for the quarterly Finance, Audit and Risk Committee meetings and contribute to Board papers.
- Responsible for management of the organisational risk register.
- Lead the annual business planning and reporting cycle.
- Act as lead advisor for legal compliance, managing external legal advice as needed.
- Line manage, support, and develop the Finance and Operations team.
- Represent The Girls’ Network at external events and collaborating with key stakeholders.
Finance
- Ensure consistent delivery and quality of finance operations, including transactions processing, management accounts, budgets, and annual accounts.
- Lead on the financial aspects of fundraising, contract management, and funder reporting.
- Oversee statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with charity and accounting standards.
- Maintain internal controls to protect assets, prevent fraud, and ensure business continuity.
Human Resources and Working Practices
- Review HR function and establish appropriate in-house or outsourced support as required.
- Manage HR issues with internal or external advisors as needed.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of HR processes, including recruitment, induction, payroll, pensions, and staff training and development.
- Lead on the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) work plan in collaboration with SMT and staff groups.
- Have oversight of policy development and implementation related to The Girls’ Network operations.
IT, Facilities, and Business Support
- Oversee CRM and digital platforms to ensure effective data management and operational efficiency.
- Oversee information management strategy, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data security.
- Ensure IT infrastructure and support services are fit for purpose, working with the Office Manager and outsourced providers.
- Manage office operations, including facilities, leases, and contract reviews.
- Ensure active management and periodic review of support contracts across HR, IT, and Facilities.

This is a newly created role which is being introduced to support the centralisation and future growth of the Marlow Education Trust . This hands-on role will be responsible for preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring all transactions and month-end processes are carried out, preparation of balance sheet, capital projects and fixed assets reconciliations , line management of finance officers and assistants, as well as oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable and VAT returns. You will be involved in cash flow forecasting, treasury/banking processes, budgeting/forecasting process, monthly reporting, variance analysis and more. The successful candidate will have previous financial experience ideally in a school environment and a recognised accounting qualification,, and will be flexible and able to demonstrate an ability to adapt to a changing environment. You will be professional in your approach to all aspects of the role, extremely well organised, a team player and competent with accounting and procurement software, MsOffice and Google Suites.
Main Responsibilities

Produce draft monthly and annual financial statements, including payroll and balance sheets reconciliations, income and expenditure, and cash flow statements

Undertake payroll preparation including staff cost allocation on a monthly basis

Support the production of regular re-forecasts during the academic year

Prepare and post monthly and annual prepayment and accruals

Maintain fixed asset register and post depreciation

Monitor of capital projects income and expenditure and carry out necessary postings at the end of each project

Ensure compliance with VAT, taxation, and other liabilities, minimizing amounts due while meeting legal requirements

Undertake a credit control function thus ensuring that the payment of outstanding sums are received as swiftly as possible

Liaise with auditors and facilitate all audit arrangements

Manage finance team in the central services and work closely with School Leaders to provide consistent financial information to all schools

Collaborate with the CFO to design and implement new financial systems and processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining strong internal controls

Act as an extended part of the schools' Senior Leadership Teams, providing high-level support to their back-office functions

Support schools in setting reliable and realistic budgets based on consistent planning assumptions

Monitor and identify corrective actions when necessary to ensure budget adherence.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced and inspirational leader to Chair our Independent Advisory Group (IAG) whose role is to provide independent advice to the Travalyst Board and Secretariat on the delivery of Travalyst’s strategy. About the IAG
Our IAG is comprised of a global group of some of the world’s leading travel and sustainability experts. The role of the IAG is to provide independent advice to the Travalyst Board and Secretariat on the delivery of Travalyst’s strategy. Its primary remit is the expert review of Travalyst’s product roadmaps, including impact evaluation. In addition, the IAG’s proactive advice is invited on any topic, including Travalyst’s strategy and theory of change.
The IAG currently has six members, appointed as a core group of experts with a systemic view of travel and tourism. We expect this group to grow to 8-10 members during 2025/6, to fill specific gaps in expertise. IAG Members are appointed by the Secretariat, in consultation with the IAG Chair.
Where needed, the IAG may form a task group (including external subject matter experts) with a clear, time-bound remit. External subject matter experts are appointed by the Secretariat, in consultation with the IAG Chair.
The IAG sets its agenda and priorities through close collaboration between the IAG Chair, Travalyst CEO, and Travalyst Board Chair. It is accountable to its Terms of Reference, which are approved by the Board.

About the Role
The Head of Fundraising will be a key member of our Senior Management Team (SMT) and take ownership of our Fundraising Strategy to support the diversification of our income. This role is vital to our future growth and sustainability, and an opportunity to lead an exciting part of the charity which makes a real difference to the students we support.
Strategy and Leadership
- Lead the delivery of our fundraising strategy in line with our current organisational strategy which runs from 2024-2029.
- Lead on the management of key information about Get Further’s fundraising activity and ensure it is stored appropriately, well organised and with high attention to detail. This will include supporting the transition of the fundraising function onto Salesforce.
- Prepare fundraising update reports for the Finance and Risk Committee and the Board of Trustees as required.

Fundraising and Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead the core fundraising activities, including line managing our Fundraising Officer. This includes developing an in-depth understanding of existing and potential supporters to provide tailored relationship management, including engagement opportunities, to meet significant targets over multiple years.
- Support the Fundraising Officer to identify new prospects, in particular, charitable trusts and foundations that have the potential to support Get Further for the first time. You will effectively qualify and engage with prospects to build a pipeline for the coming years, matching prospects with appropriate asks.
- Oversee and write compelling applications for funding that are tailored to each recipient and make a convincing case for how their support with help more young people achieve their gateway qualifications.
- Lead on ensuring all supporters and donors receive updates and reports within the required timeframes and that these are crafted with impact data and case studies to ensure maximum stakeholder engagement.
Team Management and Collaboration
- Provide effective line management of our Fundraising Officer to support their personal development and successful delivery of their role.
- Work closely with the COO to develop budgets to accompany applications and provide financial reports to funders and partners.
- Work closely with the Impact Team to develop efficient processes for impact reporting to funders.
- Support the COO to ensure that policies relating to fundraising are up to date and fit for purpose.

As Communications Manager you will oversee the Diocese’s media relations including proactive engagement with journalists and responding to press inquiries. 1. Main Duties
Communications Strategy
- Design, develop, and implement the Diocese’s Communications Strategy which is fully aligned with the Diocese ten-year Mission plan.
- Research and identify appropriate methods and channels including secular and religious media to raise the Diocese’s profile and in turn that of the Catholic church.
- Collaborate with partners, such as the Bishops Conference of England and Wales to help shape and influence public policy aligned with Diocesan objectives.
External Communications
- Proactively identify opportunities for promoting positive news about the work of the diocese and enabling the Diocesan Bishop to contribute to thought leadership and public debate on relevant policies.
- Drafting material appropriate for publication.
- Arranging video to support key diocesan publications such as Bishops Pastoral Letters.
- Build and develop the Diocese’s links with press and media to support strategic objectives.

Support to Key Departments

The Head of Management Accounting will:
