JOB PURPOSE 

UK for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency's national charity partner, is looking for an agile, creative, and proactive team player who can join us as a Digital Acquisition and Mobilisation Manager within the digital fundraising team.

Working closely with the Head of Digital Fundraising, you will lead and deliver a multichannel acquisition strategy to mobilise and inspire new and existing donors to take action and donate.  Collaborating with the wider fundraising and communications teams, you will produce creative campaigns and content across a variety of channels – with a focus on digital donor acquisition and lead generation– to help grow our donor base, increase lifetime value and generate vital funds for families forced to flee. You will be a confident communicator and an experienced project manager with an enthusiasm for experimentation and digital fundraising.

United Kingdom for UNHCR is the United Nations Refugee Agency’s national charity partner for the United Kingdom. We generate public awareness and funds to protect refugees through UNHCR’s humanitarian operations across the world.

Role Responsibilities  

• Lead digital donor acquisition activities and journeys across a variety of channels including paid social, paid search, display, email and telemarketing. 
• Develop and implement a lead generation strategy to grow our supporter base, utilising and testing tools and tactics such as quizzes, petitions and hand-raisers to recruit and convert new leads and engage existing donors.
• Collaborate closely with fundraising and communications colleagues to deliver and optimise integrated, multichannel campaigns and effective, donor-first journeys to mobilise and inspire new and existing supporters to take action and donate. 
• Ensure all activities are aligned with strategic objectives, managing the multi-million-pound income and expenditure budget for digital acquisition and lead generation. 
• Actively test and optimise new products, channels and propositions to maximise fundraising and engagement opportunities, analysing progress and results.
• Manage relationships with agencies and campaign stakeholders to deliver agreed KPIs and fundraising targets, monitoring performance and budgeted spend. 
• Ensure that prospective donors receive an excellent supporter experience, working closely with the fundraising and comms team to develop a seamless journey across channels, including email, paid media and telemarketing. 
• Working with communications colleagues to ensure the website and social media channels are up to date with key messages and reflect content related to lead generation and acquisition activities.
• Produce persuasive, high-quality email, social, display and web copy to motivate the public to act and donate and proofread and collect necessary feedback from relevant stakeholders and signatories in a timely manner.
• Remain flexible and quickly respond to emergency situations, identifying fundraising opportunities and develop relevant communications and journeys as needed, collaborating with colleagues from across the organisation. 
• Use data and insights to produce at minimum monthly reports on performance against KPIs and use analytics to identify trends and optimise activities based on user behaviour. 
• Stay up to date with digital best practices and technology, including sector trends and follow industry policies, including GDPR, PECR regulations, attending training and optimising plans accordingly.
• Stay up to date with issues affecting displaced communities, campaigns from international, content and reports from the field.
• Share creative and insights with UK colleagues, global teams, and HQ.
• Participate in training seminars, workshops, and skill shares where applicable. 
• Work collaboratively with digital engagement and communications colleagues to maximise fundraising and engagement opportunities.
• The role, in the future, may include line management responsibility.
• Complete any other tasks as outlined by the Head of Digital Fundraising.

Personal Attributes and Experience  

Essential Experience 

• Substantial experience in digital marketing and fundraising, with a proven track record of planning and delivering multichannel campaigns, preferably within the charity sector. 
• Experience of working across a broad channel mix (social, web, email, SEO, SEM and other Direct Marketing channels would be advantageous).
• Experience of using digital channels for lead acquisition to grow a supporter base and deliver sustainable income.
• Experience of using data to effectively measure, evaluate and report on fundraising activities and KPIs across multiple channels.
• Experience of working with and managing external agencies and suppliers. 
• Experience managing an annual budget and forecasting income projections.
• Experience using Google Analytics and other analytic tools for tracking and analysis.

Essential Skills/Knowledge 

• Solid understanding of digital fundraising practices and principles.
• Excellent written communication skills: able to produce compelling, persuasive, and concise copy for a range of specific target audiences.
• Attention to detail and proofreading skills and an ability to give clear and constructive feedback on creative and copy.
• Experience working with Salesforce (or similar CRM platform).
• Experience working with Wordpress and iRaiser (or similar CMS/e-commerce platforms).
• Experience working with digital campaigning or advocacy platforms and tools. 
• Proven proficiency with design principles and tools (Canva/Adobe suite). 
• Proven knowledge and use of digital marketing tools, CRM databases, CMS experience, Email Marketing and Automation platforms. 
• Able to demonstrate flexibility and ability to quickly change and adapt plans. 
• Able to act proactively and identify new fundraising opportunities.
• Able to juggle and prioritise multiple tasks, meeting programme deadlines.
• Strong presentation, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent stakeholder and relationship management.
• An understanding of GDPR, PECR and other regulatory compliance for fundraising and electronic communication.

Desirable Skills/Experience 

• Experience using telemarketing to convert and cultivate prospective donors.
• Understanding of HTML and other coding languages.
• Experience of, or a passionate interest in, the charity sector and the drive to mobilise supporters to stand with refugees.

About the role 

The Head of Compliance, Risk and Governance role at Crisis is a varied and fulfilling role. You will be responsible for ensuring that Crisis adheres to all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. You will lead the Governance, Compliance and Risk team to build and embed a proactive and enabling culture of compliance and assurance at Crisis UK. You will also be the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Crisis.

The Media Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing Independent Age’s media communications programme, including media and PR, social media, celebrities and stories. They will lead the team to secure profile-raising coverage for our work in a range of print, online and broadcast media outlets including national news, consumer, sector-specific, and regional titles, oversee our organic social media and ensure our channels amplify our work and reach older people, decision makers and other influential stakeholders.

The Media Communications Manager will build excellent relationships with older people with lived experience of poverty, ensuring the voices of older people in financial hardship are at the centre of everything we do. They will also grow the organisations relationships with journalists, channel owners, celebrities, ambassadors, and other influencers to ensure that our media communications activity supports our organisational objective to tackle poverty in later life.    

You should have broad experience of developing and implementing innovative, successful profile-raising plans (across digital and traditional channels).  You will bring an ability to work both proactively and reactively, and experience of handling reputational or crisis issues. You should also have a passion for, and affinity with, the charity’s cause.

Finance and Resources Manager (Full Time)

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.  

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. AAFDA’s prime function is to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.

We are looking for a Governance & Operations Manager to join our small but nimble team to support our governance activities, and manage facilities, health & safety and IT at our small Central London office.

Leukaemia UK and You 

This is a new part-time role combining operational management of our small office based in Central London, with supporting and developing the governance activities of an ambitious and growing charity.

Hands-on experience managing the operations of small to medium sized organisations is essential, particularly facilities and office management, health and safety, and IT (working with an outsourced IT Support provider).

You will support the CEO and Director of Finance & Resources with governance activities including preparing for and running board and sub-committee meetings. You will need to be a confident minute-taker with a good eye for detail, and have experience in collating high-quality board paper packs.

You will have an appetite to innovate and drive continuous improvement across your areas of responsibility, and as the only role on the team covering these functions, must love being hands-on and getting stuck in. In return, you will gain experience working closely with trustees and the leadership team, and gain understanding and insight into all aspects of running an ambitious and growing charity.

Who we are looking for:

Someone with substantial and demonstrable experience of working with corporates within FTSE 250 and the commercial sector. This includes proactively acquiring new partnerships and maximising existing relationships, including how to access the decision makers.

Have excellent presentation and negotiating skills, representing the charity in a range of settings and to a range of audiences.

Be a self-starter with strong sales and influencing skills, Able to work independently in particular in developing corporate fundraising products and tools.

Degree in Business, nonprofit management, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Proven experience in income/revenue generation, fundraising, or new business sales, preferably within the nonprofit sector.

Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices.

Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills, displaying a commitment to excellence and careful attention to detail.

Target driven with an ability to think strategically and develop and implement compelling fundraising strategies.

Strong organisational and project management skills.

Proficiency in fundraising software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

The Senior Estates Manager has managerial, professional and technical responsibility for the operational estate team, bringing best practice and professional standards whilst ensuring compliance and regulatory standards are monitored and managed consistently and effectively across the estates function.  

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

We are a large and busy Church of England parish and are looking for an energetic and self-motivated Operations Manager to join our leadership team.  You will be someone who can oversee all the operational elements with appropriate attention to detail and processes and also take a full part in supporting new developments in line with our vision.

Our Operations Manager is moving on after almost 3 years in post so we are looking for someone to lead our Operations Team at All Saints Church, Ecclesall.

The role requires the oversight of four areas of church operations:

• Administration including finance

• Communications

• Estates

• Governance

You will manage the operations team (6 staff) and work closely with the ministry team, a wider range of active volunteers and users of our halls complex. You will be able to deal with issues sensitively and with an approach appropriate to our Christian faith. The role does include some evening and weekend work but will mainly be carried out during office hours.

Responsibilities:

General Operations Management

1.1 Manage the Church Office to ensure that the working environment and working practices are efficient, flexible and fully reflect the mission and values of All Saints.

1.2 Manage and maintain the church databases and files to ensure kept up to date and fully compliant with Data Protection legislation.

1.3 Working closely with the Ministry Team, including participation in the weekly senior team meeting, manage the church programme and calendar.

1.4 Oversee the preparation of the resources required to support the weekly services, major church festivals and other church events. Lead on arranging some events.

1.5 Oversee enquiries about baptisms, weddings, funerals and church yard.

1.6 Provide informed support to volunteers in all areas of administration and operations covering a wide range of regular and adhoc activities.

Communications

2.1 Support the Vicar in ensuring timely, appropriate and effective internal and external communications including the weekly e-mail and hard copy church notices.

2.2 Ensure that the website is regularly reviewed and updated, as required.

2.3 Manage All Saints’ profile and activity on social media.

2.4 Respond to enquiries and requests from the Diocese, local community and external organizations, as required.

2.5 Manage communication with members of the church family in matters relating to news and weekly notices in a timely manner

The Coproduction Service Manager is responsible for the operational leadership of coproduction, involvement and engagement. This includes managing service delivery, developing new opportunities for lived experience engagement, and ensuring optimal beneficiary outcomes across Greater Manchester, in true partnership with people with lived and living experience. Our charity shops raise vital funds for Birmingham Hospice.  The generosity of doners and shoppers plays a crucial role in supporting the community, helping us to provide care for local people living with a terminal diagnosis.

We are looking for a Shop Manager to join our Retail Team, at our new Boldmere Shop. 

As Shop Manager you will help and support the Retail Area Manager by developing, leading, and motivating your team of staff and volunteers, ensuring that sales and targets are achieved and surpassed; motivate your team to deliver fantastic customer service, meeting performance targets and working continually to improve the work of the Hospice.

The role will involve ensuring that stock is displayed well and is sorted correctly, ensuring the shop and stockroom is always kept clean and tidy.  You will actively encourage donations and saleable goods, and ensure stock is prepared for display/selling, ensuring all goods are appropriately sized and priced.

You will lead a team, developing and training of staff and volunteers, and be responsible for ensuring that appropriate rotas are in place to ensure the efficient running and income maximisation of the shop.

About the position:

The Program Finance Manager will be the main interface between the Programs Team and the Finance department in relation to partner grant management. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Programs team to manage financial aspects of their grant portfolios by commissioning due diligence for new partners; reviewing partner budgets; monitoring expenditure through financial reports; and arranging financial capacity building for partners if / when needed.

The post holder will carry out their role with the support of a Finance Officer based in London and by commissioning technical assistance providers (e.g. local accountancy practices) in countries in which the Freedom Fund does not hold a local registration. For countries in which the Freedom Fund is registered (currently Ethiopia and Brazil – with a registration application pending for Bangladesh), the Program Finance Manager will support the country Finance Managers to fulfil these functions within their hotspots. This position will have line management responsibility for one member of the Finance team (a Finance Officer).

Responsibilities
Partner financial management

• Develop and maintain appropriate systems, policies, procedures, guidelines and templates in relation to program finance management and ensure financial aspects of the Grant Management Handbook are fit for purpose
• Oversee the financial due diligence assessments of partner organisations – liaising with Program staff and / or external contractors (e.g. local accountancy practices) to carry out visits, develop improvement plans and to collate, monitor and report on partner financial risk
• Manage relationships with hotspot technical assistance partners for ongoing financial monitoring and partner financial capacity building
• Support the financial assessment of new grant proposals and budgets from partners and assess partner compatibility with Freedom Fund funding opportunities
• Work with the Senior Financial Reporting and Compliance Manager to ensure that partners are compliant with donor terms and conditions
• Oversee the review of financial reports received periodically from partners – identify, investigate and report on budget variances and provide reports and analysis to both the Programs and Finance teams as required
• Ensure periodic partners finance reviews are conducted and manage completion of actions resulting from the reviews
• Provide oversight to Finance Managers in branch offices on program finance management
• Provide training to Programs staff in relation program finance systems and processes
• Update and maintain the organisation’s grant management system (Salesforce) in relation to program finance matters
• Monitor partners’ payments requests in the accounting system (Microsoft Business Central) and monitor balances owing to / owed by partners on the Freedom Fund balance sheet

Partner risk

• Maintain the fraud register and lead any investigations of fraud allegations
• Assess, report on and put in place appropriate measures to reduce partner financial risk
• Produce the quarterly partner financial risk dashboard
• Report on partner financial risk to the Senior Leadership Team and Board, as required

Other

• Work with the Finance team to monitor and process grant payment requests in the weekly payment runs
• Manage the Program Finance Officer based in London
• Provide ad-hoc financial training to staff as required
• Produce ad-hoc reports as required by the Programs or Finance team
• Support the programs or finance team on any other relevant financial management issue
• Provide cover for other team members as required
• Any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Managing Director, Finance and Administration and the Head of Finance

Qualifications and experience
Essential

• Experience working for a grant-making organisation
• Experience of managing partner financial risk within an international charity
• Experience of developing financial systems and processes
• Experience and knowledge of typical donor compliance requirements

The Group Finance Director holds a key role in the executive team in the Foundation Office of the Charity.  They are accountable for all matters relating to the UWGCF Charity finance, including the oversight of school income, endowment investments, loans, subsidiary companies, VAT, and the leadership of the Foundation finance team.  To succeed in the job, the post holder needs to build effective working relationships with independent school bursars and finance teams and link effectively with the Business managers in the state funded academies.

The UWGCF is a complex organisation, and the post holder will need to demonstrate a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build effective and supportive working relationships with other and be prepared to engage fully in the work of the Foundation. This may mean working outside of normal working hours but most importantly means communicating and work with colleagues as part of the team.

Initially they will report to the Chair of Trustees, although following a Governance Review and further work on Foundation Strategy, the Trustees may appoint a Foundation CEO.  In the meantime the Foundation Office is led by a joint executive comprising three executives: Director of Governance and Operations, Director of HR, and Director of Finance.
