The Role
This is an exciting role within a critical area of FILE, building our evidence base on impact and using it to support learning with a range of stakeholders. The Impact & Learning team at FILE is responsible for generating evidence and learning, enabling FILE and its partners to be as impactful as possible.
As a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Specialist, you will be part of a small and integrated team providing support across a broad portfolio of work.
This involves collating and analysing data, creating and facilitating learning processes within FILE and with our funded partners, and ensuring evidence and insights are fed back into our strategies and those of our partners.
This team works closely with all functions across the wider organisation.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform tasks related to the collection and analysis of data as well as learning from evidence regarding FILE’s activities. This position will primarily focus on supporting four key areas:
- Monitoring: enabling and supporting the collection of robust and consistent data from partners to support their progress towards impact
- Data management: partner data collation and verification from different data sources
- Donor and Board reporting: preparation and presentation of data and evidence for our donors and board to demonstrate our progress towards impact
- Learning: enable learning at all levels of the organisation through designing and delivering learning processes with FILE staff and partners
To achieve this, you will:
- Support our portfolio and grants team in monitoring and reviewing grant documentation in line with FILE’s results framework including providing grant assessments.
- Review and verify partner reports, providing summaries for internal portfolio, executive teams and FILE’s auditing.
- Monitor progress of individual grants and portfolios including data extraction in line with FILE’s Results Framework and Case Database
- Maintain and refine as required, data collection and management tools including partner reporting templates in collaboration with our grant management team.
- Summarise relevant data for inclusion in our 6 monthly donor reports and quarterly updates for our Board and Senior Leadership Team.
- Support our Impact and Learning Manager to coordinate strategic inputs from portfolio teams relating to progress and results for inclusion in donor reports.
- Support our Impact and Learning Manager with the development and facilitation of webinars and learning sessions for FILE’s key audiences.
- Prepare and share relevant data in a compelling format bi-annual learning processes with FILE portfolio teams.
- Support our Impact and Learning Manager with the creation of new templates and methods for showcasing impact and results across a wide range of audiences.
About you

- Understanding of and interest in climate mitigation & adaptation, biodiversity or other environmental issues
- Proven experience of applying monitoring, evaluation and learning or research approaches within an organisation
- Experience and interest in building equitable relationships and partnerships and a confident collaborator, able to work with people across the organisation and with external partners
- Facilitation skills – in person and online, including designing sessions and processes which focus on learning outcomes for participants
- Experience of collecting qualitative and quantitative data using different tools and templates including desktop research and semi-structured interview
- Data visualisation skills using different platforms and tools to clearly and compellingly communicate data
- Good quantitative data management and analysis skills including use of MS databases (Excel, Access) or other similar tools
- Competent in translating technical information into reports or knowledge products for different audiences
- Well-developed project management skills
- Philanthropic experience an advantage but not a requirement

The Foundation for International Law for the Environment (FILE) was set up in 2018 to be the major philanthropic re-granter scaling up legal action globally to tackle the climate and the biodiversity crises.

The role works with a team of 10 Programmes Advisers focusing on each of UNICEF’s programmatic priority areas to support fundraising, communications and advocacy as part of our work for children in emergencies. The role co-leads a cross-organisational team of around 20 people in sudden onset emergency activation appeal launch.

The Role:
Reporting to the Deputy CFO FRAP, this is a pivotal finance role that oversees all financial activities within the Engagement Division, including ensuring solid financial governance and compliance with Oxfam’s statutory requirements and providing strategic financial advice to various stakeholders across the organisation to support decision making and the division’s operational objectives. The division has ambitious growth for our retail channels and our individual donor supporters in the next five years.

Purpose of Role:
Reporting to the Supporter Care Manager, you will deliver excellent customer care to supporters and potential supporters of Operation Smile UK. As an integral part of the Supporter Care team, you will successfully support the Individual Giving programme and wider fundraising activities, providing support to ever increasing income and supporter stewardship for the delivery of increasing levels of unrestricted income for Operation Smile UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for existing supporters and new supporters who respond to our fundraising activities by phone, email, letter or in person, letter, or email delivering outstanding supporter care
- Liaise with supporters in timely communication via email, phone, and mail with excellent customer care

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Major Gifts fundraiser to join the successful Development team at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew as Senior Development Manager, Major Gifts on a 12-month fixed term maternity cover contract. Part 1: Role Purpose:
This role is a key member of the busy HQ finance function. Although the role is primarily focused on the HQ finances, the role operates within the context of Street Child as a global charity and so also has interaction with the global finance team. The role offers the chance to work across a number of finance functions, and some of the subsidiary charities. It is essential that the applicant can juggle the complexities of a busy role with has varied work priorities. Key stakeholders are the HQ Finance Manager, Finance Director and the HQ based fundraising team. The role works alongside the Finance Assistant and plays a role in oversight and coaching of this role.
Part 2: Key Responsibilities:
1) (40%) Deliver all functions related to Accounts Receivable
- Ensure that all income from a variety of different sources is correctly and accurately recorded in the finance system and CRM (which is under development) on a weekly basis.
- Supporting with work on accounts receivable including accessing, downloading and saving in a systematic manner reports from donor portals, bank account and other sources.
- Working with colleagues in Fundraising to analyse and code income reports in Excel and uploading it to the Finance system on a timely basis, at least weekly. Following up on how to code any income which is not allocated to a source.
- Working closely with colleagues in Fundraising to ensure prompt collection of outstanding balances from customers, and sending out monthly debtor balance statements.
- Raising donor invoices and requests for payments, and issuing donor receipts.
- Income and customer account reconciliations and revaluations.
- Any other responsibilities relating to Accounts Receivable.
2) (20%) Lead the Accounts Payable process
- Whilst the Finance Assistant is responsible for all payments, the Finance Officer has a lead role in ensuring that all invoices are paid on time, in an efficient manner and that the finance system reflects the transactions within the correct accounting period and correctly coded in the system – including account code, cost centre, project code and donor code.
- Determine most efficient payment platform to process international payments, and ensure that recorded in the finance system at the correct conversion rate.
- Be a point of contact with the Foreign exchange agents to quickly resolve any questions.
- Work with the Finance Assistant to ensure accurate and timely recording of all approved supplier invoices, requisitions, staff expenses and other expenditure in the accounting system and that all supporting documentation for all transactions are uploaded.
- Managing at least two payment runs a week and additional runs as required; ensuring that all invoices for payment are correctly approved by the budget holder, setting up payments on online banking platforms and sending out requests for payment approvals to payment authorisers and verifying that all payments are fully approved in the banking platforms by the deadline set.
- Once the payment is made, allocating the payment against the invoices in the Finance system.
- Reviewing staff expense claims to ensure that all supporting documentation is provided before payment.
- Managing monthly staff credit card reconciliations and ensure that these are returned on time with all receipts and invoices and checking and reviewing classifications, with follow up as required.
- Carry out monthly Creditor account reconciliations ensuring that all balances are valid and backed up with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Fully deliver the set up all payroll payments in time for the monthly pay day. This involves ensuring correct amount and currency of payment (which may differ from the salary of the individual’s employment contract) and method of payment across all HQ staff.

3) (40%) Month end reporting and reconciliation and subsidiary accounts
- Complete all balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and petty cash reconciliations and submit for approval by HQ Finance Manager.

Are you looking for an opportunity to join an incredible campaigning organisation as an Individual Giving Lead? We’re thrilled to be looking for a Senior Income & Engagement Officer to lead the Individual Giving function within an amazing international campaigning charity. This organisation works with partners around the world to fight poverty and defend human rights, as part of the movement for global justice
As Senior Income & Engagement Officer, you will work closely with the Director of Income & Engagement to develop and implement strategies and campaigns to deepen relationships with individual supporters to increase both campaign participation and grow income. You will also lead on a Legacy programme and manage an Income & Engagement Assistant, ensuring the delivery of world class supporter care and experience.
This is an incredible opportunity to be the Individual Giving Lead and shape the programme moving forward, making informed decisions and working with senior stakeholders to get the best out of campaigns.
As Senior Income & Engagement Officer, you will need:
- Significant proven experience managing individual giving fundraising campaigns across a range of offline and digital channels. This could have been gained working in-house at a charity or working for a fundraising agency or similar.
- Excellent copywriting, written and oral communication skills with the ability to translate data to insight and communicate this with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience of meeting fundraising targets and developing individual giving or digital income streams.
Deadline: 8th July
Salary: £44,000 - £46,600
Working pattern: Full-time, permanent
