We are seeking a Sex Worker Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (SWISVA) to provide appropriate emotional and practical 1-to-1 support to people involved in sex work, who often experience stigma and face barriers to accessing services. Working within a specialist sexual violence approach, you will be enabling people to access support and navigate services, including those directly related to sexual violence. You will support them to navigate criminal justice processes if they wish to do so. You will be working in partnership with other agencies and making appropriate referrals for people to access other services to support their wider needs. You will play a key role in advocating for improved responses to sexual violence, including pathways through the criminal justice processes.  

The post is part of a unique partnership between National Ugly Mugs, Basis Yorkshire and POW (Nottingham) to ensure more specialist support for sex workers who have experienced sexual violence, to develop good practice guidelines, develop and share learning, and to influence change in provisions for sex workers. Each organisation will be employing a SWISVA; the program will be led by a Program Coordinator who will be based with Basis Yorkshire, and who will lead on influencing of policy and sharing of learning to improve outcomes for sex workers who have experienced sexual violence   

The main role responsibilities (further outlined in the job description) are:  

• Oversee a caseload of people who have experienced sexual violence

• Ensure that sex workers have access to specialist sexual violence services, including access to the SARC and support throughout the criminal justice process

• Ensure that safeguarding practice is embedded within working practices to effectively support those at risk 

• Work collaboratively with Police, ISVAs and other colleagues to ensure the needs of sex workers are met and their voices are heard within the criminal justice process 

• Advocate for sex workers wishing to access the specialist service, challenging discrimination, exclusion and stigma both for individuals and within the wider community  

• Ensure the service maintains its strict confidentiality and protects the data of those accessing the service 

• Work collaboratively with peers in the SWISVA Partnership Program and the Program Coordinator to enable the Programme to achieve its wider objectives of quality assurance, development of good practice guidelines, learning, evaluating and influencing  

• To work within POW to support the core services including drop-in and outreach, taking the lead and driving as allocated

About You:

Having worked in a third sector direct marketing role previously, you will have experience running effective national and regional campaigns using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email, social media, direct mail, and telemarketing. With your good organisational and time management skills you’ll be able to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities under pressure. 

You will have knowledge of usability testing, user research methods and conversion rate optimisation as well as an understanding of fundraising regulator guidance, gambling commission compliance and GDPR. 

About The Role

• Manage the delivery of all Retention campaigns from concept through to evaluation, using data and insight to drive creative and production, drawing up schedules, and managing the approval processes
• Work collaboratively with data teams to ensure effective use of supporter profiling for delivery across a range of Retention campaigns
• Manage relationships with external agencies including media houses, designers and printers; to negotiate costs and relevant performance reviews
• Responsibility for collation of all KPI tracking, trend analysis and activity results that feed into the team’s reporting and performance structure 
• Work alongside the Content team to research and develop retention. To gather information, case studies and photos for use in all direct marketing campaigns. Where appropriate, to liaise with external agencies such as designers and copywriters

Purpose of the role

Baca is looking for a Support Worker who can join the support team and provide support, care and be a role model for young people who are newly arrived refugees and victims of trafficking aged 16 to 18. - Prepare the annual accounts, in compliance with SORP and relevant GAAP. Work with external accountants/auditors to manage the preparation and audit of end-of-year accounts.
- Facilitate the production of the annual report.
- Lead on organisation-wide budgetary planning along with the CFO and CEO.
- Responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.
- Ensure efficient day-to-day financial operations within the charity, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions.
- Efficient and rigorous financial administration including but not limited to staff expense, bookkeeping, gift aid (and any associated schemes), P11d, bank reconciliations, payroll, the workplace pensions scheme, credit card management and invoice processing.
- Provide support and training to other staff on finance issues (such as purchasing and commissioning of expenditure, charity SORP requirements, etc.)
- Ensure all external obligations, accounts and budgets are prepared and reported in a prompt, accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure all organisational financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation and evolve and ensure adherence to finance policies and procedures, including the maintenance and development of these.
- Stay up to date with any relevant changes to charity legal and financial responsibilities, for example charity commission and HMRC reporting requirements.

Key requirements and skills:

- Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with significant experience in financial control, ideally in a UK charity.
- Experience in managing year-end audits and producing statutory accounts.
- Track record of planning and budgeting for organisations with annual turnover of at least £1 million.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High levels of familiarity and comfort with Microsoft office packages and computer-based accountancy packages – QuickBooks is currently in use.
- Experience with DEXT, ApprovalMax and SAS is desirable.
- Ability to prioritise and work flexibly in a busy environment.
- Be comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated with initiative.

We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland.  You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

We are looking for three Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) to join our team in High Wycombe.

The purpose of the role is to engage people in a variety of interventions, using a person centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

All Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care. You will join our caring multi-disciplinary teams, to help empower you to provide quality psychosocial interventions to our diverse client groups. 

A core part of the role will be working with people to address holistic support needs across all aspects of the person’s substance use and wellbeing. This could include diverse work related to physical and emotional health, meaningful use of time, family and relationships, community engagement and activites, accommodation, physical and emotional health, offending as well as substance use (drug use and / or alcohol use).

An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You’ll also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills and a willingness to work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.

This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week.

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans and work with the maintenance team, working to maintain the general condition of the land and National Cycle Network (NCN) around the county of Yorkshire. 

As the Estates Maintenance Operative, you will carry out regular maintenance duties on the path and surrounding owned land, including habitat and vegetation management and general repairs and upkeep to the boundaries and structures. 

You will all liaise with path users, volunteers, neighbours and officers within partner organisations where necessary. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. 

About you 

You should have experience working outside in a paid or voluntary capacity engaging with the public. 

We ask that you ideally have experience of using power tools such as Brush Cutters, Strimmers and Hedge Cutters, and the application of pesticides. 

You will need to have a full clean UK Driving licence for this role as you will be travelling around the region in a Sustrans owned vehicle
