Salary: £50,000 pa initially, moving to £52,000 on successful completion of 3 months

POPS is a Charity, set up in 1988 by families who were supporting a loved one through a custodial sentence. Since that time, we have grown to employ over a hundred staff, across 16 geographical locations, predominantly in the Northwest of England and has developed an excellent reputation locally and nationally for the provision of quality services for families who engage with the Justice system.
POPS’ core business team supports the delivery of services and have been influential in contributing to Justice policy both locally and nationally. We are now looking to add to the Executive Team to contribute to the future proofing of the organisation to respond to new opportunities in a changing Justice landscape.

PURPOSE OF THE POST
The purpose of the post is to work closely with POPS’ Director, to ensure the quality and compliant delivery of POPS’ service located currently across Northwest, Yorkshire, Leicester and Bristol. You will drive forward POPS strategic and development plans to ensure the organisations’ future growth both locally and nationally.
The post will have significant responsibilities to ensure successful operational delivery and compliance of all POPS’ Services and commissioned projects and have a key role supporting the development of new business and engaging in newly identified commissioning opportunities.
The role requires strong leadership, resilience and creativity with the capacity to manage performance; develop and motivate staff teams; ensure contractual compliance; innovate and implement service delivery; develop and maintain productive strategic partnerships and to ensure quality and future growth of POPS’ services and the organisation.
MAIN TASKS
STRATEGY
- Work closely with POPS’ Director to meet organisational objectives and aims within the strategic plan
- Develop national, regional and local partnership to enable POPS to fulfil its mission and strategic plan
- Oversee development of ideas and implementation of required interventions to ensure future organisational growth
- Provide comprehensive reports to ensure that POPS’ Director and Board of Trustees are provided oversight of governance; quality assurance; performance against set KPI’s; future planning, fundraising and new business development.
OPERATIONS
- Directly line manage POPS’ three Operations Managers
- Ensure high performance standards and production of quality outcomes, ensuring contractual KPI’s are met
- Work closely with Assistant Director for Core Business functions to ensure services are delivered within legislative and financial requirements
- Work with Operations managers to ensure contractual compliance: ensure that appropriate targets and monitored and achieved.
- Support the recruitment and development of staff
- Work effectively with all colleagues to achieve agreed goals and respond to challenges in a timely and constructive way.
- Maintain good financial discipline, manage multiple funding streams; ensure organisational financial probity by implementing and developing appropriate financial controls and systems.
- Maintain and develop measurement and metrics to evaluate service delivery and demonstrate impact
- Produce Business Continuity and Risk Management plans and review on quarterly basis to Identify risks to services delivery, contractual compliance, staff competency, and develop solutions to mitigate against such risk.
- Attend and host internal and external meetings
- Produce reports to meet internal and external deadlines
- Ensure POPS’ Policies and procedures are implemented and fully complied with
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Directly line manage POPS’ Bid Manager
- Scan the landscape to maximise opportunities and support sustainable growth.
- Maintain positive and productive working relationships with current and future commissioner agencies.
- Maintain and develop strong partnerships with a range of national, regional and local agencies and develop collaborative working practices
- Attend Market engagement and stakeholder events
- Support bid writing process to meet commissioning deadlines
- Ensure the involvement of service user voice in all aspects of POPS service delivery and development.
- Develop a culture of imaginative thinking to generate and listen to ideas from all stakeholders.
GENERAL
- Uphold POPS’ values

With a degree in Information Technology or a related field, and certifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) or cloud computing (e.g., Microsoft Azure), you bring the expertise needed to drive organisational efficiency and growth. Your project management skills, particularly in areas such as Azure migration and SharePoint implementation, are well-established, and you have a proven track record in integrating CRM, finance, and HR systems. About this role
This is an exciting role that will lead the successful growth and delivery of the Smart Works events and community fundraising programme. Managing the Events Manager, Community Fundraising Manager and Retail Relationship Manager, you will work closely with the Partnerships Team to deliver exceptional events, raise vital funds and secure stock for clients and fundraising.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a robust Events and Community Fundraising strategy, to generate £800k+ of in-year income, and bolster future financial and community engagement opportunities. The candidate will also work closely with the Head of Wardrobe, growing partnerships with retail brands which support Smart Works’ activities.
We seek an excellent events manager, with experience in delivering end-to-end events, as well as demonstrable experience of fundraising through challenge events and regional community fundraising. An ability to juggle conflicting priorities and exceed set targets will be key.

You will also identify and develop opportunities for effective partnerships work, so that our members have strong pathways to the community-based specialist services and support they need as part of their journey out of homelessness.

Managing Travalyst’s corporate and individual donor base and driving revenue growth through targeted fundraising efforts.
What you’ll get to do:
This role combines soliciting new prospect donors, donor management, partnership development, and data-driven campaign execution. The ideal candidate will be skilled in relationship building, fundraising strategy, and donor engagement, with a demonstrable passion for Travalyst’s mission of promoting sustainable travel and tourism.
Donor Management (~40%)
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of individual donors, corporate and institutional foundations to secure philanthropic and private funding and advance Travalyst’s mission.
- Identify, solicit, and nurture new donor prospects, ensuring continuous growth of the donor base.
- Strategise with senior leadership to retain and upgrade current donors, including personalised engagement for high-value supporters.
- Support high-value donor and corporate partner meetings, preparing personalised correspondence, proposals and briefs.
Fundraising Strategy, Campaigns, and Event Management (~30%)
- Collaborate with the Partnerships and Development team to plan, execute, and manage proposal development and annual appeal processes for fundraising campaigns, including donor and partner events, direct mail, and corporate initiatives.
- Conduct prospect research for individual donors, foundations, and international government funding sources.
- Oversee the project management and execution of partnership and donor events, ensuring seamless planning, logistics coordination, and delivery to meet revenue and engagement goals.
- Track and report progress on fundraising campaigns and events, providing analysis on key performance indicators and revenue projections.
- Work with the communications team to create compelling materials for donor outreach, event promotion, presentations, and corporate engagement.
- Secure grant funding through research, proposal development, and managing the grant application process.
Donation Administration and CRM Management (~20%)
- Manage the CRM system, ensuring donor and partner data is accurate, up-to-date, and effectively utilised for engagement and reporting.
- Partner with the Operations team to ensure all donations, invoices and tracking is completed in a timely manner with follow up to donors as required.
- Oversee donor reporting, generating data insights and analytics to inform future strategies and donor retention efforts.
- Manage reconciliation processes and ensure development data and financial data are in alignment.
- Collaborate with the team on CRM system training and improvements and support data migration if necessary.
General Administration and Team Support (~10%)
- Provide administrative support to the Partnerships and Development team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing materials for donor presentations.
- Assist with special projects and additional fundraising and partnership tasks as needed.

What skills we’re looking for:
· Experience in fundraising, donor management, or business development, with proven success in partnership building and substantial (ideally 6-7 figure) revenue generation.
· Ideally, Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Nonprofit Management, Business Development, Marketing, or related field.
· Superior communication and writing skills, with the ability to edit text written by others and generate new text; experience in crafting compelling pitches and proposals.
· High proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce) and data management (experience with donor databases preferred).
· Strong organisational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines and use project management software (Notion) to plan and track projects and work collaboratively across teams.
· Experience with grant management, writing and corporate engagement strategies.
· Experience with financial reporting and analysis in Excel/Google Suite.
· Strong understanding of sustainability issues, trends and the philanthropy sector, with a track record of aligning donor objectives with environmental and social responsibility.
· Experience working internationally and collaborating with people in diverse cultural and political contexts preferred.
· Ability to work independently and remotely in a dynamic and fast paced team environment.
· Strong alignment with Travalyst’s mission to promote sustainable travel and tourism.
· Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, corporate partners, and foundations, ensuring long-term engagement and revenue growth.
· Ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies that align with organisational goals.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling proposals, presentations, and campaigns; and an ability to articulate Travalyst’s mission and impact in a way that inspires giving.
· Expertise in utilising CRM systems (Salesforce) to manage donor data, generate reports, and assess fundraising performance, deadlines and follow-ups.
· A commitment to delivering high-quality work while holding oneself accountable for achieving measurable results. Ability to set and meet high standards for performance, ensuring transparency and integrity in all fundraising activities.

· Ensure all our income generation activity is compliant with fundraising governance and legislation, including GDPR, PECR, and the Code of Fundraising Practice, and ensure our systems and processes (including the database and reporting) are compliant and fit for purpose in Business Development.

We are looking for an exceptional Finance & Operations Director, for an interim one-year period, to help us ensure that all aspects of the charity and the Centre run smoothly and efficiently, and to provide effective financial management.

About the role
This exciting new internal and external facing role will support the realisation of Resolve Poverty’s ambitious four year strategy as the organisation seeks to have impact nationwide.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a key member of the senior leadership team, alongside the CEO and Head of Policy.
