We are seeking an exceptional fundraiser who can offer a strong track record of driving organisational growth in the voluntary sector. Multi-year experience in two or more of the following core service areas is essential:

- Planning and developing successful fundraising strategies and action plans.
- Undertaking voluntary sector project evaluations / developing M&E frameworks.
- Planning and developing successful contract tender submissions.
The role is varied and interesting - managing a portfolio of clients and supporting them directly or strategically with their fundraising, impact evaluation and organisational development. Our consultants are all employees and we work closely together as a supportive team, sharing and developing skills and knowledge. We anticipate the appointee may not hold experience across all core areas of our services. We will enable the appointee to focus on projects that play to their strengths and experience and provide further support and training as necessary.
Based from home (must be UK resident), with ad hoc client and team meetings/socials (all travel paid), mostly within England. All IT equipment provided. Full-time or part-time (minimum 0.8 FTE - 28 hrs).

Job Purpose
The postholder will be responsible for two key organisational areas:
- Practice Education to an allocation of student social workers: 80% of workload
- Support with induction planning and administrative tasks relevant to the student placement programme: 20% of workload
The postholder will be responsible for providing student social workers with effective, high-quality supervision and support throughout their practice placements and maintaining accurate records of student work undertaken to inform holistic assessments of students’ practice. This role will entail stakeholder engagement both with internal leaders and external partners. The role will involve maintaining close working relationships and crossover workstreams with the Business Support Team, Health & Safety systems, and compliance responsibilities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Student Social Work Placements:
• Maintain relationships with key placement providers through provision of high-quality practice education,
• Practice Educate placements for their entirety at the charity,
• Write reports relating to the above.
• Support a continual and iterative induction process with support when inducting students to all relevant systems – utilising experts across the organisation to deliver elements of the package,
• Work in partnership with Business Support to implement appropriate systems relating to e-learning and hand over to line management during induction,
• Support the arranging of accounts, in partnership with the Business Support Team to enable new users access to the organisation’s systems.

Chapter One is a growing charity dedicated to ensuring every child has access to one-to-one reading support at the time they need it most.
Our innovative Online Reading Volunteers Programme aims to support 3,300 children facing disadvantage during the 2024-25 academic year, pairing five to eight-year-old children with reading support volunteers from over 140 local and national businesses. About the role
With ambitious targets to support thousands more children by 2029, Chapter One is seeking a passionate, energetic Fundraising Officer to be an integral part of our Fundraising team. Reporting to our Trusts & Foundations Manager, you’ll generate income from a range of existing and new trusts and foundations, along with individual fundraising activities to contribute towards the 2024-25 fundraising target of £278,000, rising to £348,000 in 2025-26 in which you’ll have an individual target.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver the fundraising plan
● Work collaboratively with the Trusts & Foundations Manager to grow Chapter One’s fundraising portfolio and meet agreed income targets from trusts and foundations.
● Maintain a portfolio of existing trusts and foundations, ensuring an excellent cultivation and stewardship journey in order to build relationships and maximise income.
● Proactively identify and research new prospective trust funders, finding creative ways to engage with them to secure support.
● Create compelling and tailored fundraising applications and reports, ensuring there is a strong emotional case for support and accuracy, to inspire prospects and supporters across trusts and foundations.
● Contribute to the highest levels of donor care for supporters, including creative stewardship, adhering to all grant conditions and responding in a timely manner to all enquiries from supporters and prospects.
● Research, interpret and present data about literacy and impact that makes a compelling case for Chapter One’s programmes.
● Contribute to internal planning and budget setting for restricted and unrestricted activities, setting out clear plans and a pipeline for income generation from trusts and foundations.
● Work with the Trusts & Foundations Manager, Corporate Partnerships team and Communications team to support the development of strategies and campaigns to grow individual giving from existing volunteers and supporters.
● Undertake administrative duties to support the delivery of individual fundraising initiatives including matched-giving campaigns and Payroll Giving.
● Work closely with the Trusts & Foundations Manager, Business Development Manager, Corporate Partnerships team and Communications team to ensure a cohesive approach and maximise all fundraising opportunities.
General
● Oversee and maintain specific fundraising administrative processes, including
recording of activity on the Salesforce CRM and internal databases.
● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fundraising regulations, networks, and developments across the sector.
● Adherence to Chapter One’s Donation Acceptance Policy.
● Contribute to forecasting and regular reporting, producing verbal and written reports for senior management as required.

This is an exciting new support role created to provide support to the team, and the CEO. As the Executive Assistant you will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the CEO and other senior leadership members. You will be a highly organised, detail-orientated individual with exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality. You will play a key role in enabling the effective operation of the charity by assisting in strategic planning, project management, and general administrative duties.
Executive Support:
- Provide administrative support to the CEO, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Schedule and manage appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements for senior leadership.
- Prepare and organise meeting materials, including agendas, presentations, and reports.
- Draft, proofread, and edit correspondence, including emails, letters, and reports.
Communication & Coordination:
- Act as a liaison between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Coordinate communication between departments and external partners.
- Prepare briefings for the leadership team and follow up on action items.
Event Planning & Logistics:
- Assist in organising and coordinating events, fundraisers, and board meetings.
- Manage logistics for events, including venue selection, supplier coordination, and participant communication.
- Support fundraising efforts by assisting in donor communications and event planning.
Project Management:
- Track key organisational projects and deadlines, providing updates to the CEO.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of strategic plans, ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
- Manage administrative tasks related to ongoing projects
General Administrative Support:
- Maintain filing systems and databases for organisational records and sensitive information.
- Assist with office management duties, such as supplies ordering, technology setup, and facility coordination.
Experience:
- Proven experience as an Executive Assistant or in a similar administrative role, preferably within the nonprofit or charity sector.
- Experience supporting senior leadership, including CEOs, Executive Directors, or board members.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex, sensitive tasks and manage competing priorities.
Skills & Abilities:
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proficiency in using CRM systems
- Ability to work independently, exercise initiative, and work effectively in a team environment.

Within our small HR Team we deal with the full range of generalist HR work. We support the organisation’s people-related needs across the full employee life cycle: helping managers with recruitment, onboarding new starters, and general employee relations matters such as sickness absence. The team is responsible for maintaining an accurate and complete HR System to ensure that payroll is accurate.
What we need
As our HR Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our team. You will be responsible for a wide range of HR administrative tasks, ensuring smooth and efficient HR processes, and providing excellent customer service to our employees. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about HR. You should have experience of working within a generalist HR environment and be comfortable working with HR systems to manage HR and Payroll records, Learning & Development activity and Recruitment & Selection work.
You will be the first point of contact for HR queries and provide general administrative support to the team. You will administer our established HR systems, such as Natural HR/Moorepay for HR records and outsourced payroll – ensuring payroll administration is accurate and colleagues get paid correctly and on time. You will be working with WorkRite (our mandatory training system) and Hireful (our Recruitment & Selection Applicant Tracking System and onboarding).
We want to be as flexible as possible in this role, so we’re open to 20 – 25 hours across ideally 4 or 5 days per week. You can either do this role from our Stockport office or hybrid based partly in Stockport and partly at home.

About the Role
As CRM Technician, you will provide support and development for the CRM database (currently Blackbaud CRM) for end-users in the UK, Ireland and Europe, and will support users by facilitating efficient data capture, processing, manipulation and reporting on fundraising activities.
Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:
- Providing support for all aspects of CRM to all end-users, particularly focusing on requests for data and reports and logged faults.
- Developing, building and running data processes required by end-users using a range of external data tools and inbuilt database features, writing clear end-user guides to document new work procedures.
- Providing advanced and specialised training to end-users of the system throughout all charity locations, including UK, Ireland, Europe and Advocacy.
- Creating and performing housekeeping routines and data cleansing based on trouble shooting and error correction to ensure the integrity of the database and inform evidence-based decision making by the wider fundraising team.
- Running the time critical task of ensuring bi-monthly Direct Debit payments are reconciled and imported accurately to the CRM database, providing an accurate portrayal of generated income for Management Accounting processes.

- Maintaining expert working legislative knowledge advising colleagues across the organisation and implementing procedures for GDPR data compliance, ensuring that legal obligations are adhered to in relation to data protection and gambling legislation.
About You
With experience of working with databases and spreadsheets, you will have a high level of data protection/GDPR knowledge and meticulous application.
You will also have experience of:
- Complex data exports & imports and of compiling complex reports using ETLs & report builders, data visualisation tools (such as PowerBI) and analysis and interpretation tools (such as KNIME).
- Maintaining high level of accuracy and attention to detail whilst working in a busy team.
- Communicating complex data issues clearly.
