Who we are looking for 

We are looking for a Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer to join our ambitious and growing type 1 diabetes charity, JDRF, as part of the policy and public affairs team.  You will work on projects with our corporate partners and high-level Parliamentarians, people with type 1 diabetes, policy makers and researchers. You will help to deliver JDRF’s influencing plans, improving access to and choice of type 1 diabetes treatments and technology.

This role will be fundamental in delivery of our advocacy mission: to reduce health inequalities in type 1 diabetes, to widen access to type 1 diabetes treatments and technologies and to ensure that people with type 1 get access to emerging new treatments and future cures.

An experienced public affairs professional, you may have worked for charities, in parliament or an organisation before in a similar role.  You will have excellent written and communication skills, the ability to understand complex policy issues and communicate them effectively, as well as fantastic interpersonal skills.

• ​drafting briefings, reports and policy submissions

• communicating across a range of parliamentary and professional stakeholders at all levels

• working in a public affairs and/or policy-based environment

Your role in our mission…
As the team deliver an ambitious 5-year plan aimed at increasing share of voice, audience and income, you will play a vital role as you lead on the digital marketing strategy and oversee implementation to acquire and retain supporter audiences across the Marie Curie product portfolio.

You will manage a team of Digital Marketing Specialists within the Marketing and Communications team as well as working closely with colleagues across the organisation - including Fundraising, Retail, Caring Services, Information and Support, Technology and Transformation and CRM.

You will create and lead digital marketing initiatives for growth across all digital platforms, leading on developing and implementing Marie Curie's overall digital marketing strategy across social media, email and our website to drive brand recognition, donations, community engagement, service awareness and other ways to support (such as shopping or campaigning) alongside managing the day to day for email marketing, social media (organic and paid), website content, SEO and paid search.

You will set the strategy for 'always on' digital acquisition and conversion activity - targeting key opportunities and acting with agility to reposition budget and take full advantage of any opportunities across digital quickly and effectively.

You will leverage our new brand to test creative approaches to understand what resonates with prioritised audiences. You will build a test and learn plan and execute this to ensure that Marie Curie truly understands what works and what doesn't across all digital channels. Crucially, you will be responsible for working with product owners in Fundraising on digital service delivery to grow and develop relationships with supporters and hit financial targets.

Key Criteria:
* Proven digital expertise, with a strong understanding of best practice in marketing activations and communications and experience of drawing up digital marketing strategies across a complex product portfolio.
* Demonstrable track record in in delivering marketing results in a user focused environment. With confidence in working to robust KPIs and key analytics to demonstrate progress in revenue, audience and engagement and digital campaign results so that teams can learn from tests and results.
* Ability to digest complex data, extract key insights to inform strategies and campaigns and turn findings into clear actions is important, as are strong project and campaign management skills.
* A highly effective communicator with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations, you are skilled in managing and leading others to develop testing plans and optimise campaigns.
* Adept at collaborating across teams, keeping ahead of emerging trends and horizon scanning and highly motivated by the prospect of working in an innovative team to improve the digital offering at Marie Curie.

About the Masonic Charitable Foundation

The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is one of the UK’s leading charities, providing a range of benevolent support to individuals and awarding grants to local and national charities.

Our work helps to encourage opportunity, promote independence and improve wellbeing for thousands of people each year.  Last year, the MCF awarded support totalling around £20 million.  Our support is funded from the donations of freemasons, their families and friends.

The MCF was founded in 2016 following the merger of four charities that had operated separately since the eighteenth century. 

Our Regional Advisers are home-based workers who are compassionate and dedicated to responding to the needs of Freemasons and their dependents in their area, providing essential support. They are professional and accountable, working independently but collaborating with volunteers, colleagues, and local agencies to provide an exceptional service on behalf of the charity.

Their main purpose is to visit and contact members of the Masonic community to determine their needs and to help them to access support from the MCF and other relevant agencies. Support is provided through a combination of home visits, telephone calls, or video calling. 

The role also provides guidance, support and recommendations to office based staff processing applications for our extensive range of grants to support those in need. They form close and effective working relationships with local volunteers, providing support and guidance to extend our reach.

Main responsibilities

• Responding to/visiting freemasons and their dependents to:
  • provide support and advice; and
  • determine relevant support from the MCF or other agencies to meet their needs
• Face-to-face visits, video conferencing and in-depth telephone calls are required to provide extensive and detailed support.
• Production of accurate and comprehensive reports detailing agreed plans and all relevant supporting documents
• Liaising with colleagues within the department to provide guidance and support in processing applications for our extensive range of grants to assist those in need
• Ambassadorial role for MCF, liaising with other stakeholders, delivering occasional presentations and workshops to raise awareness of the role of the Advice, Support and Enquiries Team and support available from the MCF

BEfriend is seeking a Befriending Coordinator to join our Befriending Project aimed at combatting isolation across the London Borough of Ealing. 

We have been operating in Ealing since 1994, and are proud to celebrate our 30th anniversary this year!  Our Befriending Project supports people who are isolated and experiencing chronic loneliness. It provides a lifeline to people living alone who might go for days at a time not seeing a single person. 

Key Tasks:

• Client Assessments: You will support a caseload of clients from their initial referral through to the end of their time with us. This will involve processing referrals, conducting assessments, matching with volunteers and conducting ongoing six-monthly reviews. You will provide regular telephone contact whilst they are on our waiting list and signpost to appropriate services as required.
• Matching and Coordination: You will interview potential volunteer befrienders and work with the Lead Coordinator to successfully link them with individuals in Ealing who are experiencing isolation. You will monitor the matches through monthly reports from the volunteers and six-monthly client reviews. 
• Support and Supervision: You will provide support to the volunteers when required, particularly during the first month of their match. After that you will conduct six-monthly reviews and ad hoc support.

SENIOR HEALTH MARKETING EXECUTIVE
 

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

We're looking for a Senior Health Marketing Executive to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to be responsible for providing proactive support to the delivery of all aspects of Cancer Research UK's health marketing plan. You'll partner with our Policy, Information & Communication Directorate to ensure you meet their cross channel marketing needs, establishing best practice and expertise in direct, digital and above-the line marketing campaigns. This role is key is delivering our message.

The role also manages external relationships with marketing and communications teams both at national and local level including government, NHSE, local NHS, health professional bodies and other charities.
 

What will I be doing?

• Undertaking internal and external landscape analysis to define and develop the audiences and product offerings that need activating as part of the health marketing plan

• Supporting the Marketing Manager to develop cross-channel integrated briefs that meet the needs of Cancer Research UK audiences and working with agencies and internal teams to deliver required outputs from brief response through to development and approval

• Translating cross-channel integrated briefs into production specific briefs, leading on the delivery of data and digital campaign set-up requirements in collaboration with internal teams

• Taking responsibility for the content and creative production process and campaign delivery, working with a number of internal and external stakeholders

• Supporting the approval process ensuring all health content is evidence based and in line with Policy Information and Communications (PI&C) messaging frameworks

• Working with UX experts to devise pre-launch test and learn initiatives, using results to recommend areas for optimisation

• Overseeing the campaign set-up and management process across all channels

• Working with Adobe, Social and Marketing Delivery teams to deliver email, SMS, social and other specialist marketing activity

• Leading on in-campaign reporting and post-campaign analysis, sharing recommendations for optimisation and to improve the effectiveness of future campaigns with the Health Marketing Manager and key stakeholders.

What skills will I need?

• Relevant experience of delivering multi-channel campaigns, from planning through to execution and analysis

• Good understanding of end-to-end consumer journeys and the role of different channels in fully integrated campaigns

• Experience of managing and motivating agencies to drive maximum value from relationships

• Data-driven with a good understanding of UX principles and experience of interpreting results and recommending opportunities for optimisation

• Experience of developing highly effective campaign assets for use across channels

• Proven ability to develop positive working relationships and work effectively as part of a team

• Ability to prioritise, manage conflicting deadlines, work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks to deadline

• High level of IT literacy, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

• A professional marketing qualification, such as Institute of Digital Marketing or Chartered Institute of Marketing, or equivalent experience.

We are recruiting for a Business Development Officer to join the team to help us identify and secure new customers across our online learning, trainer-led courses and consultancy service as well as support the work of the wider Business Development team. This role will give you the chance to change the future for thousands of children.

About the role

The key aspects of the role:

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to agreed targets and KPIs
• Take the lead on business development campaigns for key sectors
• Progress new business enquiries, delivering key activities including providing quotes and product demos
• Conduct high quality industry and prospect research to grow the new business pipeline, proactively generating leads to agreed targets
• Attend conferences and events to raise awareness of Professional Learning Services to key audiences

We are looking for someone with: 

• Experience in a business development, sales or fundraising role, either in the charity sector or in the commercial sector

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
• Experience of working with one or more commercial sectors, education or sport would be beneficial

About the role

The primary purpose of this role is to support the successful delivery of Transport for All’s communication and engagement strategies. You will work with the Head of Communications and Engagement to ensure that Transport for All has consistent and effective messaging through the creation and development of digital and print copy, and digital content including podcasts, graphics and videos. This is a Permanent Full-Time role for 37.5 hours per week.

The role can be based at home – where a suitable home working environment is in place – or from any RSPB office, located at different locations across the UK. The role may require occasional travel to an RSPB office or to support meetings in central UK locations.

The RSPB is looking for an Executive Personal Assistant (Exec PA) to join the Income and Conservation Investment directorate, providing vital support to the Executive Director and wider leadership team, as well as facilitating the smooth running of the 300 people strong directorate.

About ICI

The Income and Conservation Investment (ICI) team are dedicated to generating income, long term support and system change to help protect and restore nature. What's the role about?

As Executive PA, you will provide assistance to the Executive Director of Income and Conservation Investment (ICI), managing their busy inbox and diary and proactively helping them to stay on top of actions and deadlines. You will also play an important role at leadership team meetings, ensuring their smooth running by producing agendas and capturing actions. You will be a key point of contact for colleagues across the directorate and around the RSPB so we are looking for someone with a positive and approachable manner who enjoys working with others and is able to efficiently prioritise and problem-solve. A typical day might include tasks such as:

• Supporting the Executive Director through inbox and diary management, booking travel and accommodation, compiling agendas, gathering meeting papers, collating actions and reminders
• Working with the Board and Council Coordinator to ensure papers are drafted and submitted within set timeframes and follow the correct process.
• Building and developing effective relationships with people across the organisation and externally on behalf of Executive Director. Ensuring confidential and sensitive matters are handled appropriately.
• Organising monthly directorate briefings and other engagement activities, sourcing interesting and relevant content to help inspire colleagues and showcase the work of teams across the RSPB.
• Facilitating various meetings, including that of the leadership team by working with the meeting chair to produce agendas, gather papers, book guest presenters, capture actions and generally ensure meetings run efficiently.
• Understanding, sharing and implementing best practice from across the organisation, for example, Information Management principles, new digital tools or ensuring meetings are inclusive and accessible.
• Working closely with the Executive Board PA group to improve processes and provide cover during times of absence.
• Supporting the leadership team with recruitment and induction of new staff and volunteers, following appropriate policies and procedures where applicable.
• Working in line with the RSPB expenses and purchasing policies, file expense claims and raise purchase orders.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• At least one years experience of providing PA support to Director and/or senior management
• Experience of providing dedicated personal administrative support to senior staff.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft O365 suite, particularly SharePoint, PowerPoint and collaboration tools
• Able to make the best use of time particularly when under pressure from competing priorities, prioritising and delegating tasks effectively, during periods of both low and high demand.
• Able to proactively identify and solve problems and respond quickly to change
• Able to identify and act on opportunities for continually improving ways of working and create efficiencies
• Able to communicate effectively with people from all levels of the organisation as well as external stakeholders
• Able to organise meetings and events, of varying scales, and coordinate all aspects of the logistics.
• Able to take meeting notes and minutes clearly and concisely, with attention to detail
• Able to deal with confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
