Who we are looking for
We are looking for a Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer to join our ambitious and growing type 1 diabetes charity, JDRF, as part of the policy and public affairs team. You will work on projects with our corporate partners and high-level Parliamentarians, people with type 1 diabetes, policy makers and researchers. You will help to deliver JDRF’s influencing plans, improving access to and choice of type 1 diabetes treatments and technology.
This role will be fundamental in delivery of our advocacy mission: to reduce health inequalities in type 1 diabetes, to widen access to type 1 diabetes treatments and technologies and to ensure that people with type 1 get access to emerging new treatments and future cures.
An experienced public affairs professional, you may have worked for charities, in parliament or an organisation before in a similar role. You will have excellent written and communication skills, the ability to understand complex policy issues and communicate them effectively, as well as fantastic interpersonal skills.

Your role in our mission…
As the team deliver an ambitious 5-year plan aimed at increasing share of voice, audience and income, you will play a vital role as you lead on the digital marketing strategy and oversee implementation to acquire and retain supporter audiences across the Marie Curie product portfolio.
You will manage a team of Digital Marketing Specialists within the Marketing and Communications team as well as working closely with colleagues across the organisation - including Fundraising, Retail, Caring Services, Information and Support, Technology and Transformation and CRM.
You will create and lead digital marketing initiatives for growth across all digital platforms, leading on developing and implementing Marie Curie's overall digital marketing strategy across social media, email and our website to drive brand recognition, donations, community engagement, service awareness and other ways to support (such as shopping or campaigning) alongside managing the day to day for email marketing, social media (organic and paid), website content, SEO and paid search.
You will set the strategy for 'always on' digital acquisition and conversion activity - targeting key opportunities and acting with agility to reposition budget and take full advantage of any opportunities across digital quickly and effectively.
You will leverage our new brand to test creative approaches to understand what resonates with prioritised audiences. You will build a test and learn plan and execute this to ensure that Marie Curie truly understands what works and what doesn't across all digital channels. Crucially, you will be responsible for working with product owners in Fundraising on digital service delivery to grow and develop relationships with supporters and hit financial targets.
Key Criteria:
* Proven digital expertise, with a strong understanding of best practice in marketing activations and communications and experience of drawing up digital marketing strategies across a complex product portfolio.
* Demonstrable track record in in delivering marketing results in a user focused environment. With confidence in working to robust KPIs and key analytics to demonstrate progress in revenue, audience and engagement and digital campaign results so that teams can learn from tests and results.
* Ability to digest complex data, extract key insights to inform strategies and campaigns and turn findings into clear actions is important, as are strong project and campaign management skills.
* A highly effective communicator with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations, you are skilled in managing and leading others to develop testing plans and optimise campaigns.
* Adept at collaborating across teams, keeping ahead of emerging trends and horizon scanning and highly motivated by the prospect of working in an innovative team to improve the digital offering at Marie Curie.

Job Vacancy – Regional Adviser
The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is looking for an experienced, proactive and customer focused adviser to support the work of the wider Advice and Support team
The right candidate will enjoy and excel at managing their own diary and workload and would have significant experience of working in an educational, health or social care environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential for this role along with the ability to show empathy.

About the Masonic Charitable Foundation
The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is one of the UK’s leading charities, providing a range of benevolent support to individuals and awarding grants to local and national charities.
Our work helps to encourage opportunity, promote independence and improve wellbeing for thousands of people each year. Last year, the MCF awarded support totalling around £20 million. Our support is funded from the donations of freemasons, their families and friends.
The MCF was founded in 2016 following the merger of four charities that had operated separately since the eighteenth century.
Our Regional Advisers are home-based workers who are compassionate and dedicated to responding to the needs of Freemasons and their dependents in their area, providing essential support. They are professional and accountable, working independently but collaborating with volunteers, colleagues, and local agencies to provide an exceptional service on behalf of the charity.
Their main purpose is to visit and contact members of the Masonic community to determine their needs and to help them to access support from the MCF and other relevant agencies. Support is provided through a combination of home visits, telephone calls, or video calling.
The role also provides guidance, support and recommendations to office based staff processing applications for our extensive range of grants to support those in need. They form close and effective working relationships with local volunteers, providing support and guidance to extend our reach.
Main responsibilities
- Responding to/visiting freemasons and their dependents to:
- provide support and advice; and
- determine relevant support from the MCF or other agencies to meet their needs
- Face-to-face visits, video conferencing and in-depth telephone calls are required to provide extensive and detailed support.
- Production of accurate and comprehensive reports detailing agreed plans and all relevant supporting documents
- Liaising with colleagues within the department to provide guidance and support in processing applications for our extensive range of grants to assist those in need
- Ambassadorial role for MCF, liaising with other stakeholders, delivering occasional presentations and workshops to raise awareness of the role of the Advice, Support and Enquiries Team and support available from the MCF

The role
As Head of Programme Development, you’ll take a senior role in the strategic planning and operational delivery of Art Fund’s grant-making programme, taking a lead on certain areas of the business plan to ensure they deliver against and inform the ongoing development of Art Fund’s strategic vision. BEfriend is seeking a Befriending Coordinator to join our Befriending Project aimed at combatting isolation across the London Borough of Ealing.
We have been operating in Ealing since 1994, and are proud to celebrate our 30th anniversary this year! Our Befriending Project supports people who are isolated and experiencing chronic loneliness. It provides a lifeline to people living alone who might go for days at a time not seeing a single person.
Key Tasks:
- Client Assessments: You will support a caseload of clients from their initial referral through to the end of their time with us. This will involve processing referrals, conducting assessments, matching with volunteers and conducting ongoing six-monthly reviews. You will provide regular telephone contact whilst they are on our waiting list and signpost to appropriate services as required.
- Matching and Coordination: You will interview potential volunteer befrienders and work with the Lead Coordinator to successfully link them with individuals in Ealing who are experiencing isolation. You will monitor the matches through monthly reports from the volunteers and six-monthly client reviews.
- Support and Supervision: You will provide support to the volunteers when required, particularly during the first month of their match. After that you will conduct six-monthly reviews and ad hoc support.

What's the role about?
