About The Felix Project
The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.
Our vision is a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.
We rescue surplus food from businesses, supermarkets, restaurants and farms. This food is nutritious, in-date, and safe and includes a high proportion of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. If we did not rescue this food, it would be at risk of going to waste. Instead, we deliver it free of charge to London charities, schools, food banks, food hubs and other organisations serving people in need. Our food is a vital lifeline for children and families, people on low incomes, people who have lost their jobs, the homeless, refugees, domestic abuse survivors, the elderly and keyworkers.
We were founded in 2016 in memory of Felix Byam Shaw, by his father, entrepreneur Justin Byam Shaw.
Role Overview
This is a new role, working as part of a team to grow and improve our volunteer programme. Thousands of individuals volunteer regularly across The Felix Project’s four depots and kitchen, with a smaller number in Fundraising and other teams. We aim to improve our volunteer programme, as well as develop new opportunities, and make The Felix Project a great place to volunteer.

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities
The Director of Programmes, Policy and Advocacy is a senior leadership and strategic role within CIUK.A key member of CIUK Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with overall responsibility for the programmes, policy, and advocacy.The role is responsible for providing leadership to the directorate, contributing to the development and implementation of organisational Strategy, raising income from FCDO and other institutional donors, contract delivery and compliance, and safeguarding focal point on the leadership team. The postholder will provide expert support and advice to the CEO, the Board and the Impact and Transformation Sub-committee of the Board across programme, policy, and advocacy. Together with fellow SLT members the Director has collective responsibility for the delivery of the CIUK strategy, ensures effective cross organisational work to this end, and ensures CIUK becomes a great place to work, supporting an anti-racist, feminist, diverse and inclusive organisational culture.
Within the confederation, the post-holder is an important voice in shaping and influencing organisational thinking, policy, and operations within the CARE International confederation, being a member of the Global and European Programme Directors working groups.
CIUK’s restricted income from donors is significant and is CIUK’s largest income stream. As such, the post holder must be an expert in the delivery of restricted-funded programming and in particular in the ways of working of FCDO as a donor, and have the ability to influence senior donor counterparts. They must have significant experience of working for an INGO like CARE to deliver complex programming in challenging contexts. Our largest programmes are complex multi-partner consortia in fragile contexts with budgets of up to £60m.
As a leader of a large team, the role-holder requires strong people leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate strategy into action, motivate colleagues and demonstrate to team members how their role links to organisational strategy and objectives.

We’re looking for an experienced, part-time volunteer coordinator to deliver our extensive volunteer programme, featuring our Older People’s Befriending projects, our group assistants, our administrative volunteers and other volunteer opportunities.
What we do
Time & Talents is a lively, busy community centre in the heart of Rotherhithe. Set in a leafy heritage building and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and children and families’ projects. Time & Talents is well-known for supporting isolated and lonely older people in the area. Our volunteer Befriending scheme is more than 40 years strong and helps around 75 housebound older people each year to have social contact they can rely on. Cycling Without Age (CWA), a newer branch of our volunteer work based on a Danish model, has transformed into Bicycle Befriending since the pandemic. Bicycle Befriending pairs trained cyclists with older people for regular rides round the parks in our specialist trishaws. The trishaws are also a big hit at our events! In addition to the Older Adults programme needs, we need volunteers each week to support our community groups and our administrative needs. Corporations often want to volunteer as teambuilding events or to help with our community offer, and this role plays a lead role as first point of contact for those queries as well. We are building our volunteer-driven offer whilst staying focused on our aims: ensuring that everyone feels part of a community and that no one is isolated or lonely.
The role
In this role, you’ll:
• Develop volunteering roles and projects in line with T&T’s aims across programme areas.
• Support programme areas to develop their volunteer roles and recruit, train and support those volunteers.
• Develop and coordinate the befriending and CWA projects at Time & Talents, including recruitment, training and support of volunteers and service users in these projects.
• Act as first point of contact for corporate volunteering inquiries.

You have a track record in driving the excellent delivery of grant-funded community programmes in the third sector. You’re an emotionally resilient and experienced team leader with a growth mindset and plenty of grit. We are seeking a treasurer to join us as a Trustee who is passionate about our vision, mission and values, to support the Animal Free Research UK Board and team in achieving our charitable aims.
We are looking for an experienced treasurer to support the Board, CEO and Finance Director in the successful delivery of the charity’s financial responsibilities. This includes provision of advice, guidance, challenge and reassurance on all aspects of the charity’s financial activities, ensuring that our strategic plans are underpinned by robust and fit for purpose financial management. You should have a strong interest in the mission of Animal Free Research UK and be willing to advocate on the charity’s behalf.
Previous experience of being a Trustee is not necessary as a full induction and ongoing support will be provided.

Board meetings and time commitment
The The Board ordinarily meets four times per year in March, May, August and November. Two of these meetings are held remotely via video call on a Saturday, and two are held in person in London across weekends. In addition, Trustees are encouraged to join a Committee relevant to their area of expertise which meets at least once per quarter via video call. An appropriate time commitment will be required over the course of the year for preparative work between meetings. Trustees are also invited to attend occasional charity events and join recruitment panels on an ad hoc basis.
Following a probationary period where Trustee-elects attend at least 2 board meetings, appointed Trustees serve a three-year term, with the option to renew for a further three years. Trusteeship is an unremunerated position, though reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be paid.

As our Public affairs lead, you will design and deliver a political engagement strategy to secure real climate commitments from the government to reduce the environmental harms of advertising including an end to high carbon ads, public space planning reforms to stop billboards blighting our communities and the introduction of demand reduction policies for aviation.
Are you keen to see bolder policies from the UK government on climate, public space, and tackling high-carbon sectors including cars and flights? We are seeking a Public affairs lead with familiarity with the UK’s political landscape who can take forward our campaigns for policy change to reduce the environmental harms of advertising and consumption of high-carbon travel, particularly aviation. We are seeking change in three principle areas:
- Tobacco-style legislation to restrict advertising for high carbon products, namely: airlines, airports, non-electric cars (especially SUVs) and fossil fuel companies
- Strengthening national planning regulations to protect our public spaces and neighbourhoods from the spread of intrusive, outdoor digital advertising screens.
- The introduction of policies to reduce demand for aviation in a fair and equitable manner, including a frequent flyer levy.
Working with others in the Possible team and our partner organisations on the Badvertising project Adfree Cities and New Weather Institute, you’ll keep on top of the latest developments in areas of sustainable transport, aviation and public space planning policies. You’ll design interventions and events for innovative policy proposals which move the ‘choice architecture’ in which we make decisions away from business-as-usual and towards an economy that puts communities, sustainability and a liveable planet first. In all this you’ll be assisted by experts in the wider Possible team and supported by a caring workplace.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Coordination and Project Delivery
- To work closely with the Director of Strategy and Programmes to coordinate and support the delivery of all our programmes to achieve the outputs and outcomes agreed with our funders.
- To support with event management both online and face to face including providing technical support to participants on platforms for online training, including driving all courses hosted on Zoom, and providing excellent customer service to all engaging with our work.
- To support evaluations through providing and analysing data to use in reporting to funders and stakeholders.
- To lead on programme administration and funder updates, including tracking key data on platforms including Arts Council Annual Survey, Julie’s Bicycle, Illuminate and Salesforce.
- To support with the administration of programme activity by attending and writing minutes for key meetings, drawing up programme contracts, aiding with diary management, filing, liaising with key personnel, and conducting phone or zoom conversations as needed.
- To support with the financial administration of our programmes through invoicing and managing participant expenses.
- To take part in training and attending any networking events as required, including potential out-of-hours events such as our 3-day residentials, to represent Cause4 externally when required.
- To contribute to Cause4’s overall business development when required, and being pro-active in terms of personal development, working alongside the line-manager to build key objectives for growth within Cause4.
Marketing and Communications
- To oversee and manage the day-to-day communications of our programmes, including managing our dedicated programme inboxes, liaising with participants, trainers and partners as needed.
- To set-up and publicise key events, projects and training opportunities on all programme websites and relevant platforms, including Eventbrite.
- To support the Programmes team to achieve public-facing training sales targets for our programmes through implementation of the marketing plan.
- To support with communications and marketing by curating social media content (SmarterQueue), programme newsletters (Mailchimp), graphics (Canva), and blogs.
- To support updating the website on a regular basis with support from the web designer and to be a coordinating lead and contributor in writing for key publications such as the digital Now, New and Next publication.
- To research and develop our audiences and networks, in line with our priority areas, regularly updating our databased to ensure key contacts are in place.
- To lead on the analytics of our marketing data, collating vital information from SmarterQueue, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Analytics.
This is a remote (home) working role, with opportunities to meet with the Cause4 team at regular events throughout the year in London, Cambridge, and other locations.
PERSON SPECIFICATION

As a Philanthropy Executive, you will work closely with the Philanthropy Manager supporting the development of a proactive and sustainable major donor programme. Your role will involve the relationship management of a portfolio of major donors and prospects; ensuring the donors you work with are engaged with our cause, and that you are responding to their individual stewardship needs as you keep them updated with our work.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the Philanthropy Manager in making strategic decisions to grow our major donor programme: providing insight from the excellent relationships you will manage, identifying opportunities and securing significant contributions ranging from four to six figures.
You will develop and use stewardship tools to guide donors through their giving journey, including cultivation plans, proposals, and reports. You will be involved in sourcing and presenting tailored information to donors, making appropriate financial and non-financial requests. You will facilitate and attend meetings and events, both in person and online, to nurture these relationships.
Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work with colleagues and volunteers across the organisation to support our fundraising efforts.
To succeed in this role, you should have a good understanding of sector trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements. You will also need to accurately record and report on your activities and portfolio, contributing to the team's KPIs.
What are we looking for?
A very skilled communicator with the ability to write and present clearly and persuasively. You should have experience securing major donations or other high-value support, or managing influential partnerships; ideally within a similar role in either the charity or commercial sector. Building and maintaining excellent relationships with individuals and organisations at all levels is essential.
A proven track record of meeting or exceeding financial targets is desirable. You should be creative and adaptable, able to identify and maximise opportunities. Strong IT skills are important, and knowledge of Raisers Edge is a plus.
You should be able to prioritise tasks and work flexibly across organisational boundaries, thriving as part of a team. A full driving licence for UK travel is desirable but not essential.

This is a new role that will be responsible for overseeing the quality, development and evaluation of the Young Citizens’ education offer for children and young people – with a specific focus on resources and training.
The Education and Impact Manager will project manage our work across subject areas (social, democratic and legal education) and across educational phases (mainly primary and secondary). In addition, this role will lead our evaluation processes so we can evidence the impact and outcomes of our work against our theory of change.
Role snapshot:
- Review and develop our educational resources and training offer
- Project manage the delivery of new and updated materials/training and liaise with our internal team as well as external partners in their effective delivery and dissemination
- Oversee their implementation in different settings, writing some personally and using freelance contributors and/or corporate volunteers
- Create and implement an impact measurement framework that feeds into our theory of change and that meets that reporting requirements of our funders and partners
- Develop consistent mechanisms to generate effective and resource-conscious evaluation and feedback to inform decision-making and development
- Manage the staff or freelance contributors responsible for developing our learning resources – ensuring that goals and targets are set in line with organisational plans
- Actively manage corporate partners to provide key updates around any contracted development
Who are we looking for?
We believe the ideal candidate is passionate about writing and developing quality and engaging educational resources for school aged children.
You will have up-to-date knowledge of the UK educational system and detailed knowledge of the PSHE and/or citizenship curriculums for schools.
You will have strong interpersonal skills and project management skills with demonstratable experience working collaboratively and proactively with key stakeholders to deliver high standards of work.

About You:
Having worked in a third sector direct marketing role previously, you will have experience running effective national and regional campaigns using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email, social media, direct mail, and telemarketing. You will have knowledge of usability testing, user research methods and conversion rate optimisation as well as an understanding of fundraising regulator guidance, gambling commission compliance and GDPR.
About The Role
- Manage the delivery of all Retention campaigns from concept through to evaluation, using data and insight to drive creative and production, drawing up schedules, and managing the approval processes
- Work collaboratively with data teams to ensure effective use of supporter profiling for delivery across a range of Retention campaigns
- Manage relationships with external agencies including media houses, designers and printers; to negotiate costs and relevant performance reviews
- Responsibility for collation of all KPI tracking, trend analysis and activity results that feed into the team’s reporting and performance structure
- Work alongside the Content team to research and develop strong cases for support to appeal to existing donors. To gather information, case studies and photos for use in all direct marketing campaigns. Where appropriate, to liaise with external agencies such as designers and copywriters
