ABOUT THE ROLE:
As our Individual Giving Manager you will organise and oversee all our individual giving activities. You will develop income and engagement from individuals working across a range of income streams including but not limited to Regular Giving, Philanthropy, Legacy, Appeals and Lottery.
You will also oversee strategy with a view to gaining ongoing growth, through developing engaging fundraising campaigns and delivering high quality, timely and personalised stewardship to recruit new and retain existing supporters.
You’ll be an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of using a variety of direct marketing techniques to grow Individual Giving. You will work closely with our MarComms team to create content across various channels ensuring relevant and engaging communications are sent to supporters across email, BHWT newsletters, social media, BHWT magazine and video.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- To develop and deliver strategy across Individual Giving in an effort to maximise income.
- To steward and recruit donors whilst developing and retaining regular and cash givers.
- To manage a calendar of compelling fundraising projects and campaigns including direct marketing appeals across electronic, postal and social media channels.
- To utilise insight and data to set, monitor and evaluate campaigns and revenue performance.
- Management of our BHWT lottery.
- To build and nurture effective relationships with a number of segments including major donors, regular givers and pledged legators, increasing value and loyalty from new and existing donors.
- To examine supporter data to identify patterns and trends, helping to build and develop insights into BHWT supporters.
- To segment various data audiences for postal appeals using Salesforce.
- To explore and test new methods for donor recruitment and retention.
- To analyse and report on fundraising activities to maximise return on investment and feed key findings to the CEO.
- Collaborate closely with MarComms to build understanding and support across the organisation whilst delivering rewarding, interconnected projects and appeals.
- To create and update donor records ensuring accuracy and consistency at all times.
- To provide support to other areas of fundraising where appropriate.
- To undertake ad hoc tasks from time to time as required.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A strong empathy for animal welfare and the work of the BHWT
- Demonstrable successes in growing income across multiple IG revenues with a wide range of activities, campaigns, and appeals
- Proven experience of researching, evaluating, testing and implementing successful fundraising products or activities
- Experience of utilising performance metrics and KPIs for donor acquisition, cost-benefit, and return-on-investment analyses
- Proven experience of campaign management and delivery
- Track record of developing and optimising supporter-focused content and products that increase reach and engagement across a wide range of channels
- Experience of using a fundraising database and segmenting relevant fundraising data
- Ability to drive success and inspire others to ensure relevant targets and standards are met
- Ability to prioritise and manage a busy programme to ensure the smooth running of a full calendar
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and persuade a wide range of stakeholders including suppliers, supporters, and colleagues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to different types of audience through various channels

mySociety is a small, purposeful charity which uses digital tools to help people to participate more fully in democracy, make governments and society more transparent and help people work together to address societal challenges. This is a fixed-term maternity cover contract with a pro-rated salary in the range of £55,000 to £65,000 per year, plus pension (4% employer, 4% employee).

Key responsibilities
• Be the first point of contact for supporters, campaigners and others, managing enquiries via post, online and over the phone to ensure everyone has a quality experience.
• Manage processes for fundraising donations.
• Work with teams across the organisation and with carers to produce creative and engaging thank you and stewardship materials.
• Support the fundraising team with prospect research to help identify potential new supporters.
• Draft funder reports, small trust funding applications and fundraising communications.

Role purpose:
• With other leaders, to set a new fundraising strategy to further our missions, with a focus on diversification and sustainability of funding.
• To lead the execution of the fundraising strategy.
Key duties:
• To sit on their leadership group, playing a key role in the strategic development of the charity, representing the charity at events/meetings and engaging in peer support within a great team.
• To work with the MD on the charity’s new website, general copy and marketing materials.
• Where required, to delegate and supervise development and fundraising tasks.
• To develop and manage a pipeline of Trusts & Foundations, alongside competitor/prospect analysis, to achieve fundraising goals.
• To draft high quality funding applications and compelling funding proposals, including via strong narrative storytelling and researched data.
• To manage relationships with grant makers, meeting a range of funders and writing post-grant reports according to donor deadlines.
• To maintain and grow relationships with corporate funders.
• To increase the number of regular, small donors.
• To manage ongoing donor relationship management.
• To collaborate with their research activities.
Person specification:
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, committed to achieving excellent outcomes for clients, in line with the vision and values of the charity. They will have a proven record of generating income from a range of multiple streams in the public or charitable sector, including securing at least five figure grants. They will have well-developed research and IT skills. They will be able to demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication. They will have resilience – and a sense of humour is also a must!

Purpose of the role:
RMC attracts funding from a wide range of areas including trusts and foundations, Local Authorities and individuals. The Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Manager will work closely with fundraising and operational colleagues to diversify and grow income from Trusts, Foundations, Statutory bodies, and other institutional funders to enable the organisation to fulfill its strategic priorities. You will tailor applications to donors and nurture relationships in a way designed to inspire funding partners to act and support our services.

Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the post holder will work closely with other senior managers
and colleagues at RMC.
Key responsibilities:
· To play an integral role alongside other senior colleagues to pursue an ambitious Income Generation Plan.
· To secure significant income through charitable Trusts and grant making organisations including statutory bodies to provide income to support organisational priorities.
· To research and identify appropriate funders whose criteria match RMCs’ work and develop plans, prepare cases for support, and submit compelling bids and complex grant applications as appropriate.
· To develop and maintain a strong pipeline of £50k+ prospects, working with fundraising and operational colleagues to develop high-value, strategic and multi-year opportunities.
· Work across teams and build effective relationships with team members to identify suitable projects for funding in line with strategy and budgets.
· Ensure we meet the funders reporting requirements, and that grant payments and income are monitored and reported against.
· Contribute to the overall Fundraising Strategy
· Where required, support the preparation of funding applications by members of the team to other donors, including corporate donors, major donors, and other charity partners (NGOs).
Organisational
· Conduct all work according to the policies and procedures of RMC as appropriate and participate in review of these as required.

Personal specification
Knowledge and Experience:
· At least 5 years’ experience of Trusts and Foundations and Statutory fundraising, with a proven track record of success in winning large (above £50,000) and multi – year grants.
· Experience of managing relationships with external stakeholders
· Experience of writing impactful progress and monitoring reports to funders
· Experience of developing and managing budgets in line with funding applications.
· Experience of administration and record-keeping using a CRM – we currently use Donorfy
· Excellent research skills with an eye to identify opportunities.
