We are looking for a Head of Philanthropy who will lead our philanthropy strategy in Central England & Wales. Role: Head of Remembrance Events

Location: Haig House, London (Hybrid)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Remembrance Events for an 18-month fixed term contract to lead our esteemed Remembrance Events team. Reporting directly to the Director of Remembrance, you will be responsible for leading  a team  of event professionals  to deliver the nation’s most longstanding Remembrance events.  As well as ensuring that the Festival of Remembrance and Veteran March Past the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday continue to evolve in line with our Remembrance for All approach you’ll lead the delivery of high profile one-off commemorative events.

You will be responsible for bringing the Remembrance Strategy to life through programming, developing, and delivering high-profile national events. TIn your role, you will contribute to the ongoing development of the Royal British Legion’s Remembrance strategy and plans, engaging key stakeholders to ensure a trusted and transparent relationship. You will lead on relationship development and liaison with key stakeholders, ensuring that Remembrance objectives are central to negotiations and event development. You will also create opportunities for engagement and long-term relationship development that supports the Royal British Legions strategic delivery, ensuring data-driven, targeted audience growth based on research and insight. 

Operationally, you will lead the planning and delivery of events that support the development of relationships with priority audiences, including youth, diverse, armed forces, and heartland communities. You will provide direction and line management to the Director of Music, ensuring events have suitable musical accompaniment. You will ensure each event is delivered using excellent project management practices, negotiate with partners and contractors to ensure alignment with the Royal British Legion’s objectives and best value for the charity.  You will develop a process of review and continuous improvement. This role requires strong financial management, control planning, and operational budgeting to ensure cost-effective delivery of activities while meeting key KPIs.

We are currently seeking a Grants and Trusts Fundraiser as part of the recently agreed investment in fundraising to help us to deliver our strategic and operational ambitions in line with our three-year plan.

The Trusts & Grants Fundraiser reports into the Head of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications and is responsible for developing our trust fundraising capability, investigating, researching and making approaches for new funding. You will use your excellent communication skills to develop our case for support and to complete impactful and professional applications.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of raising income from trusts, foundations and major grants (ideally within a hospice or healthcare context) together with excellent research, analytical, communication and relationship development skills. You will also be comfortable with working in a small team and with taking initiative and responsibility.

During the first 6 months, the successful candidate will be expected to establish themselves in the new role and develop our trust fundraising strategy with some early income generation. The Head of Development will deliver the charity's ambitious 3-year fundraising strategy and oversee all fundraising campaigns across membership, individual giving, trusts, foundations, and corporate support, as well as providing excellent stewardship to major donors. They will guide, inspire and support a high-performing and collaborative development team to achieve annual fundraising goals, as well as overseeing internal fundraising processes.

The postholder will manage and grow a portfolio of supporters, and work closely with the CEO on one-off major gift campaigns. They will also provide stewardship of funders to the highest standard, ensuring the delivery of promised benefits to all members and supporters, such as complimentary ticket requests, special events, and rehearsal attendance. Additionally, they will oversee the messaging and strategy for legacy giving and manage an engaging communications schedule for supporters that conveys the company's key messages and values.

The Role

This is a dynamic new and exciting role which will play a key part in our strategy for development and growth at Link to Change. The role involves managing our apprenticeship schemes, developing, and delivering our income generation strategy, providing business support to our Chief Executive, and collaborating with key partners and stakeholders.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of communication tactics that contribute to the impact of our work, focused on informing and influencing key audiences based upon the charity’s strategies.
• Assist in the planning, writing and development of the key strategies required to enhance Link to Change’s business capabilities.
• Managing the apprenticeship schemes in the delivery of the business, administration and communications strategies.
• Development of new business engagement plans- identifying, researching, engaging and cultivating new prospects and relationships, alongside the Operations Manager and Chief Executive.
• Manage and support with the improvement of systems, processes and administrative projects in line with the needs of the charity.
• Developing relationships with businesses, community groups, individual donors, trusts and foundations and local partners to encourage donations, CSR, gifts in kind, community events, campaigns and develop supporter journeys for the charity.

We’re seeking an interim Senior Marketing Manager to join our fantastic Engagement, Marketing and Communications team to cover maternity leave within our team.

• You’ll take a leading role in transforming audience experience across the charity

• You’ll lead our marketing approach for our integrated campaigns

• You’ll drive the development of our services marketing, using new insights and tactics

• You’ll lead a talented team of two
