This is a new role working across Battersea’s Income Generation department, in particular Philanthropy, Partnerships and Commercial (PP&C), to help drive income growth and maintain strong funder relationships.
As part of this role, you will work primarily on information gathering and management, and the creation of inspiring cases for support, funding propositions and impact reports. You will keep fundraisers informed of updates and progress in key projects and areas of work, supporting funder meetings by providing up to date information. You will also help us explore more creative ways of delivering cases for support, funding propositions and impact reports, so that we stand out from other organisations.

The Willow Major Events Team hosts a range of events to engage Willow’s key supporters. These range in large-scale events such as the Willow Ball and London Football Awards, to smaller more intimate events such as Golf and Shoot Days.
Job purpose
- This role will support the delivery of Willow’s programme of Major Events, as well as supporting third party events, ensuring that these promote and present Willow in a professional and compelling manner, maximising opportunities for donor cultivation, fundraising and maximising income generation.

Key responsibilities
Core Events
- To support the events strategy through delivery of high-quality events, designed to attract current and new supporters.
- To support the Events Fundraising Manager in ensuring that each event plan is actioned in a timely and efficient manner, as well as working with external suppliers, ensuring all suppliers work to agreed terms and conditions
- To assist in the research, development and planning of potential new event opportunities, ensuring that the events programme evolves in response to new fundraising requirements, opportunities and sector trends.

Auction
- Lead on securing auction prizes for relevant events, developing relationships with key supporters and external businesses to secure exclusive and desirable auction items.
- Manage the auction fulfilment process, ensuring all auction winners are thanked post event and that lots are fulfilled in a timely manner.
- Oversee online auction platform, ensuring accurate listings, engaging descriptions and looking for ways to maximise income.
Event Supporter Stewardship
- Provide support on guest management, ensuring a smooth process for guests during the lead up to and on the day of the event.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, guests and stakeholders ensuring excellent stewardship and recognition
- To identify opportunities to engage or recruit new event supporters to existing or new events in the Willow calendar.
General
- To support the Events Manager with financial management of each event, supporting on areas such as: budgeting, planning, controlling and monitoring expenditure as appropriate and managing income against targets, KPI’s and provide regular revised projections as required.

What the job involves
This is a unique chance to play a pivotal role in driving impactful external communication strategies that support Individual Giving and Events and Community Fundraising. As a key player in the Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team, you’ll enable the integration of mass fundraising activities into wider organisational communications, inspiring action to fund life-saving initiatives that help men navigate prostate cancer.
Supporting the Head of Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand in embedding and developing our Business Partnering model. A major part of the role will be enabling the integration of Mass Fundraising activity into the wider communications plan to enhance results from our communications.
You’ll guide the planning process for projects and campaigns to grow fundraising revenue, support our community and improve outcomes for all men affected by and at risk of prostate cancer.

About Us
Get Further is an award-winning charity that helps students from disadvantaged backgrounds secure essential English and maths qualifications. We support students in further education by providing specialist tuition, helping them progress into higher education, apprenticeships, and employment. To help more students get further, we are seeking a driven and passionate Head of Fundraising who will build relationships with major donors to the charity – especially Trusts and Foundations – to secure a significant portion of the charity’s income.

About the Role
The Head of Fundraising will be a key member of our Senior Management Team (SMT) and take ownership of our Fundraising Strategy to support the diversification of our income. Strategy and Leadership
- Lead the delivery of our fundraising strategy in line with our current organisational strategy which runs from 2024-2029.
- Lead on the management of key information about Get Further’s fundraising activity and ensure it is stored appropriately, well organised and with high attention to detail. This will include supporting the transition of the fundraising function onto Salesforce.
- Prepare fundraising update reports for the Finance and Risk Committee and the Board of Trustees as required.
- Contribute to and attend internal/external events on behalf of Get Further as required.
Fundraising and Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead the core fundraising activities, including line managing our Fundraising Officer. This includes developing an in-depth understanding of existing and potential supporters to provide tailored relationship management, including engagement opportunities, to meet significant targets over multiple years.
- Support the Fundraising Officer to identify new prospects, in particular, charitable trusts and foundations that have the potential to support Get Further for the first time. You will effectively qualify and engage with prospects to build a pipeline for the coming years, matching prospects with appropriate asks.
- Oversee and write compelling applications for funding that are tailored to each recipient and make a convincing case for how their support with help more young people achieve their gateway qualifications.
- Lead on ensuring all supporters and donors receive updates and reports within the required timeframes and that these are crafted with impact data and case studies to ensure maximum stakeholder engagement.
Team Management and Collaboration
- Provide effective line management of our Fundraising Officer to support their personal development and successful delivery of their role.
- Work closely with the COO to develop budgets to accompany applications and provide financial reports to funders and partners.
- Work closely with the Impact Team to develop efficient processes for impact reporting to funders.
- Support the COO to ensure that policies relating to fundraising are up to date and fit for purpose.

The merger of Fight for Sight and Vision Foundation on 1st April 2023 has enabled us to address both questions. By combining our strengths and expertise we are now the only significant national funder with the efficiency, capability, and capacity to increase investment in medical research and social improvement. Together we can mitigate both the prevalence and impact of sight loss.
We have a clear ambition, led by our CEO, Keith Valentine, who has valuable lived experience of sight loss. We’ve secured well-respected and highly engaged ambassadors and patrons, from Sir John Major and Marsha De Cordova MP.
We are looking for a driven, committed, and creative individual to join our dynamic team as we devise and launch a new five-year strategy. You’ll be part of something impactful and a key support within the fundraising team.

Role Responsibilities:
Individual Giving
- Support the Individual Giving Manager with day-to-day communications with our donor base, including timely database administration to capture communication preferences and personal details.
- Support the Database Manager with data and financial processes, including recording and batching donations, generating reports, contributing to supporter journeys and reconciling income.
- Undertake research into new projects and areas of fundraising and highlight areas of potential opportunities to raise income and ensure continuous supporter engagement.
- Liaise with design and print suppliers to deliver appeals and other campaigns.
- Support the Individual Giving team in-person in the office, with the processing of direct marketing appeal responses, including banking of donations and sending thank you letters.
- Work with the Individual Giving Managers to implement supporter journeys to encourage further support to the organisation.
Events and Community
- Use a CRM database to effectively administer and manage event and community activities.
- To be an ambassador at all events, supporting the delivery of our vision and ensuring that the charity’s profile and reputation are enhanced.
- Work with the Events and Community team to send out literature and parcels to community groups and event participants in an efficient and timely manner.
- Researching and sourcing event materials and fulfilling event packs when required.
- Support with logistics for virtual and in-person events as required.
Wider fundraising
- Answering inbound calls as part of the head office call team, at least two days per week, and responding to or triaging enquiries to be resolved in a timely manner.
- Working with suppliers to help design, proof and order new and replacement fundraising materials (fundraising packs, t-shirts, collecting boxes etc) as necessary.
- Act as the first point of contact for external enquiries and manage internal post, including sorting incoming post and organising outgoing fundraising post from head office.
- Work with the Communications team to ensure social media posts and other promotion opportunities are carefully planned and well executed.
- Work alongside the high value team Partnerships Assistant on key events and appeal tasks when required.
- Provide general administration support across the fundraising team as required.
- Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy as a member of the Fundraising team. Share learnings and points of interest in team meetings, as well as work-based updates.

What you will be doing
The Director of Fundraising will be a key member of our executive team reporting directly to the Secretary General. As our first Director of Fundraising, you will have the opportunity to build and develop your own team to help you deliver the fundraising strategy.
In taking forward the strategy, you will identify and articulate areas for support, research relevant funding potential and secure income through the development and execution of both the short and long-term fundraising strategy across the funding spectrum. 1. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB
The Director of Fundraising will lead the continued development, co-ordination and delivery of our new fundraising strategy, to build and maintain philanthropic income.
The post holder will work under the direction of the Secretary General and Trustees to:
1. Deliver our new Fundraising Strategy which has been prepared, maximising resources through major donors, trusts and foundations, individual giving, corporates and legacies throughout the world.
2. Build a new fundraising team.

2. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

b) Create and manage fundraising: major donors, trusts and foundations, corporates, and legacies across the organisation.
c) Monitor, collect and manage information on relevant sources of funding, including public and charitable funds, commissioning and procurement, and emerging opportunities for income generation.
d) Develop, implement and oversee quality control, evaluation and reporting procedures to ensure a high standard of bid submission, monitoring and reporting at all times.
e) Build relationships with major donors and maintain good stewardship of donors and funders. We expect our contributor base to include international donors, and not just those who may be UK-based.
