About the organisation
The organisation is a small, thriving national charity supporting people in rural areas to set up and run successful businesses in community ownership. They do this to achieve their UK-wide vision for resilient, thriving and inclusive rural communities. The charity is based in Oxfordshire with around 25 staff and a turnover of around £1.2 million annually.
Community-owned businesses are owned and controlled by community members and range from village shops, pubs and cafes, through to woodlands, fisheries and farms. The charity has been promoting the community ownership model for over 100 years because of its track record for delivering better businesses for people, communities, the economy, and the environment.
The charity is in a sound financial position with strong reserves. The focus moving forward is to diversify income streams away from the traditional model of grants, trusts and foundations to increased self-generated income from projects, corporate sponsorship and placemaking initiatives with housing organisations.
The new Head of Finance will be joining the organisation at an exciting time as they progress on this journey.
About the role
Reporting to the COO and managing 1 Finance Officer, The Head of Finance is the lead staff member for all matters relating to the Finance Team and is responsible for all areas of its strategic management and day-to-day operations. The Head of Finance makes up part of the Senior Leadership Team.
Typical finance duties include the development and implementation of finance strategies and policies, the production of financial reports and management accounts, leading on the budgeting & forecasting process, leading on the production of the annual statutory accounts, and supporting the Finance Officer with all elements of transactional finance such as reconciliations & VAT.
The Head of Finance will also take an active role on the Senior Leadership Team including contributing to business plans, networking with partner organisations and contributing to the continued strategy to diversify the charity’s income.
The charity uses Xero accounting software and has a December financial year-end. There is a current interim Head of Finance in post, and a handover with this person is likely.
The role would suit an experienced charity sector Head of Finance, seeking to work on a part-time basis. The role will ideally be offered on a 3 day per week basis, with at least one day per week required in the office in Oxfordshire.
The salary offered is £60,000 - £66,000 per annum FTE (pro-rata) and benefits include flexible working, an employee benefits programme, training opportunities, 6% employer pension contribution and a generous holiday entitlement of 27 days plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part-time staff).
Requirements
• Qualified or near qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent
• A strong understanding of UK charity accounting including fund accounting and SORP
• Prior experience managing the finances of a small to medium sized charity, and management of a finance team
• A proactive attitude and the ability to ‘muck in’ with a broad range of duties sometimes outside the scope of the role
• Excellent analytical skills, ability to identify financial trends and create a supportive narrative
• Experience with Xero and Salesforce would be advantageous

THINK EQUAL is a global education initiative with a mission to ensure that Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) becomes a mandatory subject for all children in early years settings globally. SEL is the process through which knowledge, attitudes, values and skills such as emotional intelligence, empathy, self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making are developed.
To support governments and educators to achieve this mission, THINK EQUAL has developed a global SEL Programme for 3-6 years-olds. The Programme is constructed around teacher training, and the provision of narrative children’s books, lesson plans and teaching resources, which provide the concrete tools educators need to teach SEL in a low-cost and adaptable format.
The THINK EQUAL Programme has a global presence across six continents (in 30 countries) and has undergone three randomised control trials in contexts as varied as Colombia, Botswana and Australia. There is a growing demand from other countries for the THINK EQUAL Programme and the organisation is now strengthening its team to be able to respond to this demand.
Purpose of the Role
To manage the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Think Equal programmes in UK and Europe. This role has a special focus on representing Think Equal and maintaining strong relationships with local authorities, regional and national government ministries (education and health primarily), and other stakeholders, and managing a region or country team as needed. It also involves strategic planning, reporting on, budgeting and costing of programme implementation, guiding, reviewing, approving and ensuring high quality implementation including:

Supporting business development efforts, translations (only if needed), and evaluations.

Leading on partnership and government relationships, training plans and the monitoring of programme implementation. The role is one of primary oversight and responsibility for the embedding of Think Equal within the early years education system in the UK and various European countries, and the sustainability of the programme, insofar as possible.

Responsibilities
Line Management

Provide line management (guidance, strategy, supervision, and support as needed) to the relevant Regional and Country managers, Programme Officers and coordinators.

Identify the needs for additional staff to support the implementation on the ground and participate in the corresponding recruitment processes.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication among team members.
Partnerships Management

Co-lead and support the business development strategy for Europe - with a special emphasis on England - in close coordination with the CEO and the Business Development team.

Utilise own networks to secure and nurture robust relationships with local authorities (with special focus on the UK) and other stakeholders in line with the organization’s strategy.

Proactively approach, present to and enrol national and local authorities for the implementation of the Think Equal programme.

Ensure high-quality sustainable implementation within Europe, with a special emphasis in the UK.

Maintain timely reporting and communication mechanisms with donors (in close coordination with the CEO and the Business Development Team) and other stakeholders as agreed in MOAs and as needed.

Communicate and liaise regularly with relevant stakeholders, representing the organisation when higher-level representation is needed.

Coordinate with the communications and business development colleagues at Think Equal to raise the visibility of the programmes.
Programme Development and Implementation

In line with the organizational strategy, lead and supervise the development of project proposals and programme implementation plans and ensure their correct and effective implementation in cooperation with the country’s teams.

Ensure the budgeting of, costing, spending and reporting on programmes in alignment with the Think Equal finance policy and donor requirements.

Provide regular status updates on the progress of the programme’s rollout in the UK and Europe.
Monitoring and Evaluation

Support the development and strengthening of Monitoring Evaluation & Learning (MEL) tools and their use by the key stakeholders in order to ensure the sustainability of Think Equal.

Work collaboratively with the Think Equal MEL manager.

Lead and supervise monitoring actions that provide useful information to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Think Equal concluded, pipeline and active projects.

Undertaking any other reasonable support, initiative and or activity as required (e.g., support specific projects as directed by the CEO and other appropriate members of the Senior Leadership Team).

Education and Experience

Degree or equivalent in relevant fields, preferably in project management, business, economics, international affairs or development. (Essential)

Key responsibilities:
· Collaborate with the MMUK Board of Trustees and MMI to lead the design and execution of an ambitious growth strategy, to ensure the organisation can achieve its mission and stays true to our values.
· In collaboration with our Director of Supporter Engagement & Income, develop and deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy for MMUK, focused on growing our supporter base, developing new partnerships and nurturing existing partnerships with various networks and other grassroots communities.

About the role

Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for a Content Support Officer to join our team. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return you will receive a salary of £22,861 - £24,385 per annum. The role is home based with occasional National travel.
About the Content Support Officer role:
The Virtual Village Hall (VVH) is the main Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) live online interactive platform by which the charity interacts with and supports people in communities across the nation. Through its virtual setting, it supports the wider NHS and health care systems to improve and maintain the health of the nation and also tackle health inequalities, social deprivation and drive digital inclusion. VVH has touch points and is embedded with every aspect of the charity and provides a holistic nationwide offer.
The purpose of the Content Support Officer is to support delivery of the VVH Communications Plan. They will provide written content to support the promotion and every day running of the service and will research and secure talent and organisations to host new/themed sessions. They will be a key member of the Virtual Village Hall team and will provide input into the planning and growth of the Virtual Village Hall.
The First Time for Everything project (FTFE) provides new opportunities and experiences for people over 55 to try something new for free in their local community and to be social and active, particularly those that are older or less mobile. The programme has nationwide reach but targets areas of social deprivation and seeks to address health inequalities. A percentage of programmes are therefore delivered in targeted areas to reflect this.
The purpose of the Content Support Officer is to support FTFE activity coordinators to attract participation in events and raise awareness of the FTFE programme. They will provide written content for local media, case studies for fundraising and marketing purposes, and occasional briefing documents for RVS media interviewees.
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Whilst the role is advertised as full time we welcome applicants that would like to be considered for part-time or job share.

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become the first Administration Officer for the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland. The charity and our membership and activities have grown rapidly over the last five years through two rounds of strategic change. Practical details:
We are offering an initial six-month, remote contract based in Belgium or the UK, with the possibility of full-time employment following a satisfactory review. The salary is based on a gross annual salary of £25,000 in the UK, or €35,000 (including benefits) in Belgium. Candidates should be prepared to work 38 hours a week, with flexibility to accommodate different time zones. You will receive 25 days annual leave, plus one additional day per year worked.
