To support this transformation, we are seeking a Deputy Director of IT who will lead in delivering a reliable, secure, and innovative IT environment that enhances the charity’s operations.
In this role, you will lead technical teams, manage projects, oversee IT infrastructure, and ensure that technology aligns with the charity’s strategic goals. You will play a vital role in advancing our digital capabilities, enabling efficient operations and supporting the expansion of our mission-driven activities.
As a strategic leader, you will contribute to the overall strategy for Finance and Corporate Services, offering insights and guidance. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders such as fundraising, clinical, finance and people teams to understand their IT needs and explore opportunities to enhance service delivery, fundraising, and donor engagement through technology. Your oversight of IT infrastructure will span servers, networks, cloud environments and data centers, ensuring reliable and secure operations while implementing best practices in security and data protection. You will also ensure that IT policies and procedures comply with industry standards, including GDPR, Charity Commission requirements, and data security guidelines.
To succeed in this role, you will have a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with extensive experience in senior IT management, with a focus on infrastructure, security, and project management. You will possess sound knowledge of IT governance, security, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR) and have experience with cloud platforms, network infrastructure, and database management. Exceptional communication skills will be essential, enabling you to convey complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

The Partnerships Manager will be responsible for securing and building funding partnerships, overseeing external communications, and spearheading grant applications. The Partnerships Manager will work closely with the Managing Director.

This is a full-time, permanent position paying a salary of £29,612.93 to £38,412.80 per annum depending on experience. The role is based at their site in Thurrock, Essex.
The Supporter CRM and Data Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management of the hospice’s supporter data and income operations strategy and developing annual delivery plans, including strategic planning and management of the Fundraising team’s supporter CRM, data insight and income operations function. You will develop, manage and review processes and procedures for all fundraising income and data across on and offline platforms and ensure all income and supporter data is processed accurately, in a timely manner and in line with Hospice policies and service level agreements.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of CRM database management and developing and maintaining database processes and procedures. You will have demonstrable experience of working with data for marketing purposes, including effective and compliant handling of communication preferences.

About the Role:
You will ideally have newsroom or busy press office or agency experience, work well under pressure, and be full of creative media ideas. As a news driven, creative and ambitious Senior Media Officer, you will lead on a wide range of media activities including timely statements, ground-breaking research reports, fundraising appeals and events, and key policy and advocacy moments.
You will also work on projects with celebrity ambassadors, corporate partners and staff from across WaterAid's global federation - all in support of WaterAid's mission to change normal for millions of people living without water, decent toilets and good hygiene so they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.
You will drive, develop and implement proactive and reactive media strategies, use your warm media contacts and build new contacts to achieve organisational communications objectives, including increasing awareness of the global water and sanitation crisis as well as our work around the world and our policy, fundraising and campaigning activities.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Write audience centric media strategies for advocacy research and reports and campaigns, with political and public stakeholders in mind.
- Build and ensure effective media relations by establishing and nurturing relationships with key journalists and media outlets, maintaining media lists using relevant media databases.
- Ensure a responsive, agile news desk and respond to enquiries on the key issues we work on.
- Draft and distribute first class media materials, including press releases, media messages, statements, op-eds and thought leadership pieces, and lines against enquiry.
- Integrate media activity across communications and the wider communications and fundraising directorate to ensure media work is impactful and supports wider strategic objectives.
- Advise WaterAid staff up to the Chief Executive using your media expertise.
- Build on and maintain excellent relationships with teams across the organisation and in countries where we work.

- Evaluate and report back on key campaigns to the team and rest of the organisation

About You:
- Proven experience in media relations, working in a busy press office, agency or as a journalist.
- Experience of working in a large, matrix organisation
- Experience of liaising with journalists of all levels
- Strong understanding of the UK and global media landscape, with an excellent nose for a story and established relationships with key journalists and media outlets for major UK and global titles.
- Proven experience in launching policy and research reports and data-driven stories to the media
- Proven experience on working on public engagement and supporter focused media
- Excellent command of written English and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling media materials and media messages at the highest quality
- Experience in developing and executing media strategies and securing impactful coverage.
- To have initiative, deadline driven, strong project management skills, able to work autonomously while contributing to a high performing team

This role will be responsible for leading on the digital communications and content strategy, in collaboration with the digital communications and brand lead.
