Responsibilities of our Senior Prospect Research Officer
- The prospect research officer will join a dynamic team contributing to the overall growth of our Partnerships and Philanthropic income and sits within the newly formed Research and Engagement team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing detailed knowledge and insight on donors and potential sources of philanthropic funds. Underpinning the team's ability to increase opportunities to build successful donor relationships alongside ethical gift acceptance processes, pipeline and information management.

- Our team is responsible for ensuring direct fundraisers are equipped to make compelling asks and steward donors. We cover prospect research, KPI and pipeline reporting, high value events, stewardship and engagement asset creation, and cross team operational support.

About the role
Working closely with the Therapy Manager, Clinical Lead and Director of Services, you will deliver the marketing of a programme of member-led training for external organisations and other services at Headway East London. Working directly with our members, you will deliver projects of a high standard which are co-produced and reflect the diversity of our community. You will take a lead on developing and delivering the marketing material. You will collaborate with our members, staff and partners to advance our aims to educate professionals in the public sector, whilst exploring ways to generate income for the organisation through this source.
Principle duties and responsibilities
1. Identify opportunities to engage external stakeholders with the member-led training project of delivering external training to professionals within the public sector.
2. Work directly with Headway members to develop and deliver this project, embedding this work within the organisation’s co-production strategy.
3. Support members to participate in these events in collaboration with other teams, by providing direct practical assistance to members.
4. Identify and seek out new external opportunities which support the development of our therapy service, ensuring that opportunities are quickly acted on.
5. Explore potential income generation for Headway East London.
6. Lead on the design work associated with some of this work (e.g., mock-ups, early design concepts, marketing collateral) and present this externally and through social media channels.
7. Assist with fundraising activity related to the ongoing reporting and development of this project.
8. Lead on the marketing and promotion of this project alongside other services.
9. Maintain accurate records and filing systems and ensure effective documentation of project deliverables.
10. Work in close collaboration with Headway East London teams to stay informed of new members, interests and needs.

The Vacancy
The Programme Development Manager is committed to supporting colleagues and partners in programme design and development. The team also connects programmatic issues and global policy and advocacy to ensure they are complementary and conducive to external change based on evidence from the ground.
Saferworld’s income is secured primarily from statutory and institutional donors; however, securing funding to support our partners in conflict-affected countries and allow for more flexible programming increasingly requires a more diverse funding base. The Programme Development Manager will support efforts to identify and secure funds from statutory donors, trusts and foundations, and other non-traditional funding mechanisms.
The Programme Development Manager will support a portfolio of Saferworld’s teams in designing and mobilising funding for peace, security and justice programmes. The successful applicant will have a focus of approximately 4 countries, which will be decided based on the candidate’s experience and preference. Working closely with Country Managers/Directors, and programme and grant management colleagues, the post-holder will lead on: coordinating and facilitating programme development processes (including taking the lead in drafting high quality concept notes and proposals, theories of change, logical models, risk matrixes and budgets); developing and supporting the implementation of long-term country funding strategies and donor engagement strategies; and supporting new donor engagement and sustaining relationships with current donors. The post-holder will be responsible for growing institutional funding portfolios in our programmes.
The post-holder will have a successful track record in developing programmes and leading new business development efforts with institutional donors such as the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), United States Government (USG)/United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the European Union (EU), UN agencies and European Governments such as Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). The Panathlon Foundation is seeking a highly motivated Major Trust and Major Donor Fundraiser to help it achieve its aims of supporting and developing the young Special Educational Needs children of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Panathlon Foundation due to demand for participation in its programmes seeks to add to its income generation streams in order to enable us to do more for SEND children through sport, leadership and inclusion. The Programme Development Manager will provide high quality project information to both internal and external stakeholders, extracting and quality assuring project data relevant for reporting, and making sure all projects are compliant with donor requirements. Philanthropy Manager
Contract: Permanent, Full time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £39,358 - £41,325 per annum with excellent benefits.
Location: London, UK
Hybrid Working: A minimum of 40% of working time is spent face to face, either in London office, or as a result of external engagement or travel for WaterAid. WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base.

About the Team:
The WaterAid Philanthropy & Trusts team grows crucial individual philanthropic relationships. We have an ambitious strategy and growth plan, whilst raising significant funding for WaterAid’s work.
About the Role:
As our driven and passionate Philanthropy Manager you will have a proven track record of business development and raising income from new and exciting partnerships. Those that partnerships you secure, you will go on to provide excellent stewardship.
You’ll also:
- Build a sustainable pipeline of new business prospects with the potential to give at £100k+ per annum.
- Develop high quality funding propositions and reports in line with donor requirements.
- Support the Philanthropy & Events Manager with the delivery of first class stewardship and cultivation events.
- Develop and implement creative solicitation plans to maximise donor engagement and income, delivering against a £450k+ personal income target which is made up of existing and new business prospects
- Research, develop and write high quality funding proposals, appeal letters and reports, personalised to your donors. Secure grants for unrestricted funds and complex restricted funding projects tailored to donor requirements.
- Develop an excellent knowledge of WaterAid’s work, liaise with colleagues to prepare and present high-quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for the donor. This includes working closely with country programme colleagues, the grant unit, Trustees and Directors as appropriate.
- Help develop cross-selling opportunities with other teams in WaterAid, to maximise major donor prospects and new relationships
- Maintain an awareness of philanthropy trends, news, events and legislation in the UK and – where appropriate – overseas.
About You:
- Have a proven ability to raise income from new business, manage a new philanthropy portfolio and achieve targets as part of a strategic plan.
- Be able to develop strong relationships with individuals, identifying opportunities for growth and innovative engagement.
- Have experience of compelling proposal and report writing for a philanthropic audience.
Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:
- Experience in peer to peer fundraising.
- Experience in developing and executing a new business prospecting strategy.

Our Brand and Marketing team is looking for a creative, strategic and proactive individual to join our corporate partnership marketing team to develop brand awareness through partners and inspire young people to access our support. No corporate partner has the same needs, and whilst our purpose remains the same, this role requires flexibility, ability to manage a portfolio workload, communicate ideas and influence to ensure the partnership maximises brand opportunity for The King's Trust.
Working as part of a team of marketing and brand managers and executives, you will work with our corporate partnership team to develop and deliver mutually beneficial marketing campaigns, raising the profile of The King's Trust and the importance of our work to support young people. You will also work closely with our in-house creative services team to commission and review content, corporate partners creative agencies and use data and insights to improve our marketing and innovate to help deliver against our EDI strategy.
This role is perfect for you if you are an experienced marketing professional, confident producing marketing strategy and campaigns, influencing stakeholders and a range of digital marketing skills including using social media channels, , as well as have a detailed understanding of the marketing communication mix – understanding the right media to reach particular audiences.
It is an exciting time to join the team as we develop our approach to our new name and brand, with some exciting opportunities to work on high profile activity as we head towards our 50th anniversary in 2026.

We are seeking a self-starter; an experienced and energetic fundraiser with a proven track-record of successfully securing five and six figure gifts from a wide range of donors. You have experience of fundraising from global high-value trusts and foundations, as well as from government or multilateral donors (e.g. the European Union).
You are an experienced donor account manager with excellent communication skills. You will promote best practice within your field of expertise and will work to ensure the highest quality and levels of efficiency.
