KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE CEO

The CEO will represent CPI’s vision for reimagining government, grounded in systems thinking and complexity theory. They will be an active thought leader driving the intellectual frontier forward. Through thought leadership—whether via podcasts, reports, conferences, or advocacy—the CEO will position CPI to attract partners, collaborators, and projects that align with our unique approach and capabilities. Beyond our project portfolio, the CEO will inspire and grow a broader movement of changemakers, expanding CPI’s influence and impact across sectors and geographies.
Therefore, we seek a CEO who will:
• Inspire big conversations and tell powerful stories: The CEO will reflect, imagine, and communicate boundary-pushing thought leadership that challenges teams and engages public and social sector leaders. By sharing the ideas, insights, and inspirations that emerge from CPI’s work through blogs, podcasts, conferences, and public speaking, the CEO will inspire external audiences and catalyze bold conversations. Through storytelling, the CEO will amplify CPI’s vision, challenging others to achieve greater impact and contributing to a global movement reimagining government across sectors and geographies.
• Support public service innovation and impact: Ensure CPI is designing creative programs with our partners that help civil servants excel as stewards of public resources
• Advocate for better governance: Promote policy and governance reforms that prioritise empathy, inclusivity, and trust, positioning CPI as a global thought leader in reimagining the role of government in society.
• Convene thought leaders: Recognising government reform is hard work and hugely complex, the CEO can leverage CPI networks to create meaningful spaces for shared learning and co- produced thought leadership.
3. Strategy- Positioning CPI, prioritising our focus areas, sequencing our organizational development
CPI’s approach starts with a shift in values and thinking before driving system change and service design. Our work spans thematic areas like democratic governance, climate change, AI, gender equity, public health, and more. We use diverse tools—from service design and challenge prizes to partnership- building and fund management. As CPI grows across regions like North America, Europe, and Asia, we need a leader who can balance visionary positioning with operational priorities.
Therefore, we need a CEO who can:
• Cultivate our strategy: Building on existing strengths, develop a long-term strategy for the organization that delivers on its mission and for its partners, while harnessing the full range of capabilities within the team. CPI has a regionally federated structure, with authority appropriately devolved to trusted leaders across the organization. The CEO will play a critical role in uniting these efforts by identifying CPI’s core strengths and focus areas and clearly articulating strategic priorities for both the short and long term. At the same time, the CEO must ensure that CPI remains agile and responsive to emerging opportunities for growth and impact.
• Communicate CPI’s identity: Clarify and strengthen CPI’s identity. Ensure that our work, though complex, is communicated boldly and clearly to raise our profile. Our recent re-brand is part of this, but our next CEO will help craft a bolder, sharper presentation of who we are and how we serve.
• Global perspective and leadership: Continue to build a truly global organization, with a presence across multiple regions. While much of our team, work, and revenue are currently concentrated in the United States, we are committed to maintaining and expanding our international presence. The next CEO must have a global outlook, be comfortable working across different cultures, and actively support CPI’s vision of remaining a diverse and internationally balanced organization. It will be crucial for the CEO to lead efforts to rebalance our organizational focus, ensuring that we continue to strengthen CPI’s work across the world.
• Strengthen our operational core: Build a cohesive and high-functioning foundation across Finance, People & Culture, and Communications. The next CEO will ensure that CPI remains adaptive and entrepreneurial while developing the robust infrastructure needed for sustainable growth. This includes strengthening key operational systems to support CPI’s long-term success without compromising its innovative spirit. The CEO will maintain a strong overview of the financial health and funding forecast for CPI.
• Partner with the Board: Maintain a strong, collaborative relationship with CPI’s Board of Directors, including regular updates on progress and co-creating strategies for future growth. Support the identification and onboarding of new Board members who bring diverse perspectives and are committed to CPI’s mission and values.
4. Partnerships – expanding and deepening our collaborations Collaboration is at the heart of CPI’s work. The CEO will be a bridge-builder across sectors, geographies, and themes, growing the community of those re-imagining government.
Therefore, we expect our next CEO to:
• Steward our partnership with BCG: With our branding recently shifting from “a BCG Foundation” to “founded by BCG,” we have a unique opportunity to further maximize the benefits of our heritage and deepen our partnership with BCG. As valued learning partners and collaborators, BCG has been a steadfast supporter and proud champion of CPI. While CPI operates independently, this exceptional partnership allows us to both benefit from and contribute to BCG’s expertise, creating mutual value and enhancing our collective impact.
• Foster our strategic relationships: Strengthen and deepen relationships with governments, foundations, corporates, and changemakers. Use these collaborations to extend CPI’s impact and mutual learning.
• Network and build partnerships: Act as an ambassador for CPI, catalyzing new partnerships and co-designing innovative solutions.
• Fundraise: Although we primarily operate under a contract-based business model, our recent rebranding presents a unique opportunity to expand our ambitions and elevate our funding strategy. The next CEO will have the chance to attract larger and more innovative funding partners who share our vision and ambition, enabling us to secure core funding that strengthens CPI’s long-term impact and reach.

Our CEO must be comfortable also sitting with uncertainty and ambiguity, letting solutions be emergent and co-created in a relational context, embracing experimentation’s iterative process.

REMUNERATION
At CPI, we are committed to aligning our compensation framework with the principles of fairness, equity, and transparency. We benchmark salaries using national, country-specific data and aim to offer compensation between the 50th and 75th percentiles for all staff roles. Additionally, we maintain a 5-to-1 ratio between the most senior and junior staff, ensuring that our compensation structure remains equitable across the organization.
For the CEO role, a competitive salary will be offered in line with local benchmarking for the country where the CEO is based. As a reference, in our two largest offices, the salary range for a UK-based CEO is £170,000-200,000, and for a US-based CEO, the range is $275,000-310,000. Beyond base salary, we take a holistic approach to compensation, offering a benefits package designed to support work-life balance. This includes a generous package and leave entitlement, comprehensive health care, and flexible working arrangements. CPI’s CEO would preferably be based in the US (East Coast) or Western Europe, but we are open to discussing other locations in an exceptional circumstance. Travel will be an important part of the role, with consideration given to climate impact and effective use of time and resources. Travel will include visits to team meetings, attending key global forums, client meetings, and events that showcase CPI’s vision and inspire the re-imagination of government.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

About the role
Working across the Crisis Brent teams you will lead on the delivery of our volunteer programme and member involvement opportunities. You will be responsible for the recruitment of new volunteers, the support of existing volunteers and volunteer supervisors to maintain a positive volunteer experience. You will work across teams to ensure volunteer’s experience of volunteering is positive and play a key role in volunteer retention. You will be collaborative and dynamic in working with the team to identify and develop new volunteering opportunities. You will have the ability and confidence to increase the diversity and variety of our volunteering opportunities to reflect our local community and better serve our members. You will be flexible and innovative in reaching a diverse group of people from across the local community.
You will have experience of working with people who are social excluded and have lived experience of homelessness. You will understand the importance of delivering equitable services and can empower our members to share their experience and contribute to continuous service adaptations and improvements. You will be creative and inclusive in establishing Brent-specific member involvement opportunities so members can influence our service locally. You will work across teams to ensure we deliver our service with people experiencing homelessness, instead of delivering a service to people experiencing homelessness. You will work with the central Crisis team to respond to member involvement opportunities, influencing policy and providing members with the opportunity to share their story with the wider public and media.

The person:
This successful candidate will have substantial experience as a Finance Officer, either in the charity sector, the grant making arena or similar experience within the corporate sector. Highly organised, a great communicator with superb attention to detail, this person will be AAT qualified or working towards the qualification or similar Finance related qualifications. They will have had experience of working in a busy Finance department, with a broad understanding of accounting principles, reconciliation and financial reporting in addition to excellent database and IT skills. Accuracy will be absolutely essential to success in this role in addition to being able to relate sometimes quite complex information to a wide variety or audiences.
A genuine enthusiasm for the work of LCF will underpin this person’s approach to the role and will fuel success and development within the organisation.
Worldwide Veterinary Service is searching for a dedicated and enthusiastic person to join the team, helping to grow our Young Vets Club membership programme, an animal welfare club aimed at children aged 6 - 12.
This exciting role will involve supporting the Young Vets Club Manager to expand the Young Vets Club programme, including creating content for members, supporting on promotional campaigns, dealing with member queries, attending events, and helping to inspire the next generation of animal lovers and veterinarians.
This role offers a great opportunity for the right candidate, with opportunity to learn new skills within a friendly team. There is some flexibility for working at home, but the role will require a minimum of 2 days a week at one of the WVS offices, either near Tregony, Cornwall or Cranborne, Dorset.
About Us
At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.
We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi and the Galápagos Islands. We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world.
Last year, WVS treated over 70,000 animals, trained over 3,000 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 800 parcels of veterinary supplies to 206 charities in 66 countries.
Young Vets Club is an important part of the future plans of WVS and is designed to inspire future generations of animal lovers and veterinarians, through engaging educational content.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Young Vets Club manager in providing content for Young Vets Club materials including the magazine, social media and the website.
- Manage the Young Vets Club social media channels, with the support of the wider Marketing team.
- Attend and organise events to raise awareness of the work of WVS and grow membership of Young Vets Club.
- Assist in the sending out of supporter communications including membership packs and magazines.
- Keep the CRM up to date, monitor stock and ensure members receive communication on time.
- Assist the wider team with other tasks as needed.

Based in Hayle, we are looking for a new team player to join this high performing team who deal with all incoming requests for help, both by telephone and email, to listen to and record the needs of elderly and/or terminally ill people and their pets.
Where help is required, to raise a computerised record to log the case, task volunteers nationwide by telephone and email to offer assistance to elderly petitioners with the pet care and reassurance needed in order to honour our mission statement of “Peace of mind for owners, love care and safety for their pets”. Liaise with both petitioner and volunteer throughout to ensure the delivery of our service. This post will require a good overall understanding of the needs of elderly people and their pets.
An essential occupational requirement of this role is to participate with on-call midweek evenings and weekends (this will be one full week in five). Together with other members of the on-call team you will participate with on-call on a rota basis to help ensure and maintain our emergency telephone line during these times.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
i. To assist in contacting volunteers nationwide by telephone and email and tasking by telephone as required to help petitioners with their pets.
ii. To listen to the needs of each petitioner and accurately record information for each petitioner and their pet by completion of a computerised case to record volunteers assigned and the service provided.
iii. To ensure you record all of your communications onto the database in an accurate and timely fashion by way of comments on each petitioner case at the end of each conversation.
iv. To help maintain up-to-date records and mailing lists for petitioners, petitioners’ contacts and volunteers throughout the course of your work.
v. To ensure the appropriate delivery and quality of service provided to petitioners when you are handling a request for:-
a) Dog Walking
Task a minimum of two volunteers per case to assist with dog walking. Contact all volunteers after their first dog walk to check and ensure they have started, log all responses onto the database, then complete the case.
b) Home Checks
When a potential long term fosterer is identified, you will be asked to task a volunteer to visit and carry out a home check. Once the completed home check has been received, complete the case – (all home checks will be valid for 12 months).
c) Short Term Fostering (stf)
To initially gather as much information about the pet(s) as you can and how soon a foster is required. Raise a case and log all details onto the database, begin a computerised search for a suitable volunteer to foster, arrange transport, if needed, to take the pet(s) to the volunteer and follow up 24 hours after the pet arrives to ensure all is well. Keep in touch weekly.
If the pet goes home – arrange transport to take the pet back home, again follow up 24 hours after the pet has returned home with a phone call to the petitioner to ensure all is well. If dog walking or any other assistance is needed, raise a new case and task the appropriate volunteers to either dog walk, offer Pet Care, reassure etc.
If the pet(s) goes into long term foster – refer to your line manager, once a decision is made, then follow the protocols for Long Term Fostering see below.
d) Long Term Fostering (ltf)
Raise a Long Term Foster Case, if needed, identify and chat to potential individuals, all of whom must already be home checked, run through the home check with the person to identify any changes, refer to your line manager, once the right individual is selected, arrange transport to take the pet(s) to their new ltf home. Once the pet(s) have arrived, follow up 24 hours later to ensure all is well.
e) Pet Care
When required, task a volunteer to visit a petitioner and offer pet care, whether it is to administer medicine, groom, clean out a litter tray, bird cage, reassure, or any other pet care as agreed with your line manager as this is not an exhaustive list.
f) Talks
To task a volunteer to give a talk, attend an event, or represent The Trust, but, always take advice from your line manager with regard to appropriate volunteers for these tasks.
g) On-call
To ensure delivery of our service by participating in on-call and helping to maintain our emergency telephone line. Together with other members of the on-call team, on a rota basis to help answer on-call emergencies this will be one full week in five – Monday to Monday including the weekend encompassing bank holidays, if applicable. A day in lieu will be given for working bank holidays.
Upon completion of an entire week on-call and following a debrief with your line manager, a rest period of 1 day will be given to you immediately after ie Tuesday.
On-call is for emergencies which will require an urgent response, for example if an ambulance is waiting to take someone to hospital, your urgent response is vital to provide peace of mind for the owner, love care and safety for a frightened bewildered pet.
v. To liaise with all other members of The Trust to help maintain a quality service.
vi. To contribute to the team by helping to update volunteer and petitioner cases in the course of your communications.
vii. To help maintain filing and filing systems related to your work.
viii. To liaise with all other staff of The Trust in a flexible manner.
ix. To liaise with all petitioners and members of the general public in a polite and helpful way.

Over eight years, the charity has grown rapidly, with now over 800 volunteers delivering up to 150 appointments daily across three sites. TLP receives 750 new referrals every month and will provide support to 8000 people struggling with suicidal feelings this year. This growth, achieved without waiting lists, highlights how TLP balances ambition with a commitment to high-quality, person-centered support. With plans to expand to East London and strong donor and media interest, it’s an exciting time to join this effective, community-led service.
