Established in 2000, our services range from grant and contract bid writing and review, to developing fundraising strategies, developing M&E frameworks and undertaking project and programme evaluations. We are seeking an exceptional fundraiser who can offer a strong track record of driving organisational growth in the voluntary sector. Multi-year experience in two or more of the following core service areas is essential:
- Achieving major grant funding from trusts, foundations, lottery distributors, public sector agencies or similar.
- Planning and developing successful fundraising strategies and action plans.
- Undertaking voluntary sector project evaluations / developing M&E frameworks.
- Planning and developing successful contract tender submissions.
The role is varied and interesting - managing a portfolio of clients and supporting them directly or strategically with their fundraising, impact evaluation and organisational development. Our consultants are all employees and we work closely together as a supportive team, sharing and developing skills and knowledge. We anticipate the appointee may not hold experience across all core areas of our services. We will enable the appointee to focus on projects that play to their strengths and experience and provide further support and training as necessary.
Based from home (must be UK resident), with ad hoc client and team meetings/socials (all travel paid), mostly within England. All IT equipment provided. Full-time or part-time (minimum 0.8 FTE - 28 hrs).

Location

Purpose of the Role
The post holder will be responsible for the management of the charities fundraising and supporting individual fundraising on behalf of the charity. This includes working with the CEO and Deputy CEO to maximise income and manage our grants programmes. The post holder will also need good financial knowledge, specifically relating to the charity sector. This role requires an enthusiastic individual who can build and take fundraising projects from inception to successful delivery, provide leadership to others, and work closely with partners in the statutory, voluntary and private sectors.
Main Areas of Responsibility
· Development and delivery of the sustainability plan

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
· Recent experience of working in a charity environment, or experience in related areas.
· A track record in developing and delivering fundraising strategies and plans that support organisational growth and income generation targets
· Demonstrable experience of developing donor relationships and leading (or supporting) major donor fundraising with individual and/or corporate major donors (which we define as those making gifts over £1000)
· Knowledge of current fundraising trends, emerging opportunities, and best practice

Metabolic Support UK (MSUK) is the umbrella patient organisation for people living with and affected by Inherited Metabolic Disorders (IMDs). We are a UK-based organisation with an international reach. There are approximately 40,000 people in the UK living with one of around 1,500 IMDs. Globally an estimated 71, 260 people are born with these conditions each year and 1.43 million people live with IMDs worldwide.
IMDs are rare, lifelong genetic disorders that affect people in a variety of ways including lifestyle, lifespan, diet and medication needs and symptoms. Sadly, some disorders can cause irreversible complications or death.

The role
MSUK is looking to recruit a dynamic, ambitious and confident Fundraising Manager to work with the Chief Executive to develop and implement our income strategy. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be a core member of the team, developing and delivering the income stream for the charity with fundraising strategies that support MSUK’s mission. The role will report to the Chief Executive and will be responsible for driving forward all aspects of fundraising, including building corporate partnerships, individual giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, legacies and community. Main Responsibilities:
Fundraising Management and Development

Work with the Chief Executive to develop and implement a balanced and realistic fundraising strategy, which builds on MSUK strengths and maximises income for the charity.

About the role
You’ll manage, coach and develop a team of eight home based Parkinson’s Local Advisers (PLAs) to deliver a high standard of service across Scotland. You’ll ensure that the team is supported in meeting service demand which will include more complex casework, covering gaps, or supporting new/inexperienced colleagues.
You’ll work with colleagues across the wider Parkinson’s UK Scotland team to support the delivery of local priorities to reach and support more people affected by Parkinson’s.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a team of Parkinson’s Local Advisers to deliver a professional service that gives accurate, tailored information and support based on needs in line with optimal service practice
- Ensure quality service standards are met, including assessing needs, advocacy, information and support given and referrals
- Provide support and guidance to your team of advisers, including on complex casework and safeguarding cases. Occasional need to pick up direct casework at busy times/absences etc.
- Ensure appropriate staffing cover and support other teams as required

The Regional Manager’s responsibilities include the researching, developing and supporting local community fundraising across the region. Working closely with volunteers, county committees and local partners – developing, delivering and evaluating new initiatives to reach new audiences, grow support for RABI and make a difference for the farming community.
You will:
- Demonstrate relevant experience and proven track record within volunteering and community engagement / fundraising.
- Have a good understanding of volunteer motivations, with the ability to manage and work with volunteers and / or local communities.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written, a clear and confident presentation style, and the ability to carry out public speaking, handling press / media enquiries and use of social media.
- Have strong project management and events experience.
- Have exceptional time management and highly developed organisational skills.
- Be IT literate – with good working knowledge of email, Word and Excel, as well as CRM and event management systems.
- Be analytical and numerate, confident in report writing including assessing return on investment etc.
A self-starter, you will be confident decision maker, able to work in a sometimes-pressurised environment. You will be a collaborative team player, with the ability to build relationships with people across all levels. You will have empathy and understanding of UK agricultural methods/people and issues facing the industry. Experience with living and/or working among or knowledge of the farming community would be an advantage.
Please note: due the nature of the role it will be necessary to work unsocial hours to fulfil this role e.g., attend weekend shows, evening meetings and events. A full UK Driving Licence and use of a car is essential.

The Role:
- Lead on the development and implementation of the Individual Giving strategy and programme to retain, acquire and develop donors

Role responsibilities
· Develop and be accountable for the collation and aggregation of evidence for the financial inclusion programme at a national and local level, including reach and impact, implementing and oversight of the ongoing management of reporting processes, and using appropriate data systems.
