About the role
We are looking for an Engagement Manager to join our team while our Director of Development is on maternity leave. The person will be responsible for project managing the work of the engagement team, delivering key engagement priorities, and overseeing fundraising events/campaigns and communications.
Location: We operate a hybrid working policy and require a minimum of one day per week in our London office.
Salary: £35,202
Contract: Until 28th February 2026

Communication

“Bogs and Bitterns": Somerset Wetland Restoration is one of twenty schemes being funded by the Government's Species Survival Fund.
As Species Survival Project Fund Coordinator, you will provide project management and co-ordination of the Species Survival Fund project and work on the development of specific species and habitat works at the Brides Mound and St Brigid’s Chapel site in Glastonbury.

This project is funded by the Government's Species Survival Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency. “Bogs and Bitterns: Somerset Wetland restoration is one of twenty schemes being funded across the country. Within our project area we aim to deliver 50 hectares of wetland habitat restoring and expanding to improve and create quality ‘stepping stone’ sites of high quality biodiversity and to enable species abundance across the wider county. We are looking for an individual with both hands on experience of delivering nature conservation work and project management expertise.
As Species Survival Project Fund Coordinator, you will have two main areas of work. The main part of the role is to provide project management and co-ordination of the Species Survival Fund project, ensuring we are on track, including meeting budget requirements, collating information and reporting as required, and providing line manager support to the project Ecologist. The second part of the role is to also to work on the development of specific species and habitat works at the Brides Mound and St Brigid’s Chapel site in Glastonbury; here SWT is working in close co-operation with the Friends of Brides Mound and Southwest Heritage Trust and is funded by the Glastonbury Town Deal Fund.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Responsibility 1: Manage the Project
- Share knowledge and expertise by:
- Providing project management and coordination and building relationship with key stakeholders.
- Ensuring concise information gathering and reporting for the Species Survival Fund project.
- Providing and sharing expertise on species survival, whilst coordinating evidence and monitoring of the project.
- Undertaking a wide range of complex, technical and professional tasks in differing situations, with a degree of personal responsibility and autonomy. It is important to be able to work both alone and as a member of the team.
- Adopting environmentally friendly working practices, setting, and maintaining high personal standards of efficiency and customer care and fostering a ‘can do’ culture based on ownership, initiative, teamwork, and exchange of information. All staff are ambassadors for the organisation both internally and externally and are expected to always act in a professional manner. They are required to abide by organisational rules, policies and procedures as laid down in the staff handbook.
Responsibility 2: Line Management
Provide leadership and support by:
- Providing direct line management to the Species Survival Fund Project Ecologist to ensure best practice and to drive the project forward.
- Managing the workload, performance, and personal development of the Species Survival Fund Project Ecologist.
- Having budgetary responsibility for the project and expenditure.
- Keeping abreast of national and international species recovery programmes and relate these to Somerset.
Responsibility 3: Work with Partners and Volunteers
Provide leadership and training opportunities as an influencer for the Trust by:
- Contributing to discussions, workstreams and providing support to the developing St Brigid’s Chapel and Brides Mound Project.
- Leading on working with other partners to design and implement habitat works across this landholding.
- Enabling the development of volunteering and training opportunities with the Friends of Brides Mound so they are resilient as a community to continue managing this land as part of the nature recovery network at the end of current funded works.
- Working in close collaboration with the communications and fundraising teams to promote the project including the production of articles, blogs and social media posts.
General

Primary Objectives:
This is a new role and offers an exciting opportunity to be instrumental in the co-design of collaboration, support and services to meet the unmet needs of Deaf children and those that are hard of hearing (HOH). Working with the Head of CYPS, and in collaboration with other Teams.
The role has two parts:
1) Working with the Head of Department to scope and develop a new service that will meet the needs of Deaf children, young people and their families. Working in collaboration with other charities and organisations to enhance the support available, and to discover future opportunities to work collaboratively.
2) Offering direct family support to parents and carers with Deaf or HOH children.
Service Development
· Liaising with appropriate people including parents, colleagues within our organisation, and professionals from other organisations to develop and implement a support service that will meet the needs of families whose children are Deaf or HOH.
· When unmet needs are identified, to seek creative solutions to find the best way forward to address the arising issues.
· To work with the Fundraising Team to support funding applications.
· Attend internal and external meetings as appropriate to highlight identified needs, promote the Charity’s vision with regards to services for children who are Deaf/HOH. Highlighting our aims and objectives in regard to the development of this service.
· To demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities paying particular attention as to how these principles apply to Deaf and HOH children, and those who have a multi-sensory impairment, as well as highlighting the added impact this can have on those children who have additional complex needs.
· To keep up to date with current legislation, local & national policies and research.
· As appropriate to work with parents, children and young people to enable them to participate and influence this service development.
· To keep records of findings, decisions, meetings, outcomes etc ensuring that the organisation has an accurate record of how the service is being developed alongside the decision-making process throughout the life of the project.
Family Support Worker role
· To support parents and carers whose children are Deaf/HOH assisting them when appropriate.
· To adhere to the standards and legislation for confidentiality, equality, and diversity. Keeping accurate and up to date records.
· To assess and identify when the needs of the children and their families are not being met and work with parents, other professionals, and organisations as appropriate to address the issues, with the aim of ensuring that the children have the opportunities and environments that will enable them to reach their potential and achieve their aspirations.
· To facilitate effective support networks to enable parents and carers to share experiences and provide peer support.
· To run parent-led support groups giving parents the opportunity to meet without their children present enabling them to voice their opinions.
· Ensure the family support element of our service is needs led and inclusive.
· Offer emotional support to parents and young people as appropriate.
· To act as a point of contact for the child or young person and their family to offer support, information and guidance and referral route to appropriate services.
· To advocate for the family/ child’s needs, attend meetings, write supporting letters, attend appointments etc.
Main Duties:
To work with the Head of Department to identify unmet needs, scope out and develop services for Deaf and hard of hearing children and their families to address challenges, ensuring that children and young people have equity in the opportunities available to them.
To identify gaps in services available to children and their families in relation to their backgrounds and lifestyles ensuring access to appropriate support services.
To deliver a range of support services that promotes good practice reflecting the requirements of children and young people and their families.
To provide a positive role model at all times to children, young people, their families and the wider community.
To ensure services provided are of a high quality and enable every child to have the opportunity to achieve their aspirations and reach their full potential.
Where appropriate to work in partnership with outside agencies such as Surrey County Council Physical and Sensory Education, Social Care, Health services, Housing and other relevant charities.
Develop information and resources about the opportunities available to families whose children/ young people are Deaf, or hard of hearing.
To support children and young people through transition from children’s services into adult services, engaging with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) services, and adult services where appropriate.
To support parents, carers and other professionals with Education & Health Care Plans (EHCP’s) to ensure they accurately reflect the needs of the child or young person.
To be proactive in safeguarding all children and adults from abuse, prevent abuse from occurring, and report any suspected incidents of abuse, following our Policies and Procedures which link with Surrey County Council local Multi-Agency Policies and Procedures.
As appropriate attend Team Around the Family (TAF), Child In Need (CIN), Education & Health Care Planning (EHCP), Transition meetings and case conferences etc.
To work with parents, carers and children individually ensuring that each interaction is person centred to meet the needs of the child/ family.
To maintain effective recording of work undertaken, concerns, decisions, actions etc. to respect and uphold the confidential nature of personal information as required by the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
To take responsibility for the reporting on the key performance indicators and outcomes attached to both the developmental element of the service and the family support element of this role, in order to meet the requirements of the funders of the service.
To support the Fundraising Team in developing funding bids and applications based on outcomes.
To work with the admin team to keep accurate statistics and report on the outcomes of the service.
To represent the charity at external forums and as appropriate, attend meetings as a representative.
To co-operate fully as a member of the staff team and to ensure good communication at all times including attending team meetings, supervision and annual appraisal.
To participate in training and development events as appropriate, and to take responsibility for personal development and learning.
Skills and qualities
Essential criteria
1) Competent British Sign Language user (BSL Level 3 as a minimum for non-native BSL users).
2) Knowledge with regards to child developmental milestones, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, safeguarding, health and safety, equality and data protection legislation, that will enable post holder to ensure activities always comply and operate within the law.
3) Ability to work imaginatively, creatively and reflectively, with regards to problem solving and service development.
4) Ability to work as part of a wider team, both within the immediate department and across the wider organisation, and other organisations and charities that we work collaboratively with.
5) Working in partnership, acknowledging what families bring and what practitioners contribute. In all interactions with families, effective communication is key to building real relationships.
6) To work flexibly and be available to support children, young people, and their families. Occasionally families may benefit from appointments outside of normal office hours.
7) To have professional experience and excellent communication skills that enable the post holder to work with very emotional situations and as far as possible meet the needs of parents & their children while remaining professional at all times.

Role Overview -
The Multibank Manager will focus on driving the growth and impact of the West Midlands Multibank by building strong relationships with referral and donation partners, overseeing daily operations including inventory management and distribution, and ensuring the project's financial sustainability through effective communications and fundraising. It also involves evaluating the Multibank’s impact to identify unmet needs and emerging trends, while providing direct line management to the Logistics Co-Ordinator and coordinating all staff and volunteer teams to deliver efficient and equitable support to communities in need.
Key Reponsibilities
· Develop and grow the impact and scale of the West Midlands Multibank including building relationships with potential referral and donation partners.
- Engage with organisations to establish and maintain an appropriate network of referral partners to support those in need to access the support of the Multibank
- Build and manage relationships with local businesses and corporations in order to secure additional donations for distribution and to secure Corporate support, with support of BVSC leadership
- Work collaboratively with partners to ensure the Multibank is meeting the needs of communities effectively and supporting those in poverty to access resource and wider help as needed
· Manage the day to day running of the West Midlands Multibank, including the referral and distribution processes and inventory management
- Manage the work of the Logistics Co-Ordinator with additional Multibank staff to ensure the smooth day to day running of the Multibank
- Manage Health and Safety processes within the Multibank
- Collaborate with referral and distribution partners and the Logistics Co-Ordinator to ensure available inventory is appropriate for local communities and meeting identified need

The Director of Community Programmes is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring that Lewisham Music offers a diverse and quality music education offer across our communities. Main purpose of the role:
To support the team, working across all aspects of the programme. The role offers a unique opportunity to work with the industry’s leading brands reaching over 1.2 million employees across the UK.
Main responsibility of the role:
- Provide administrative and logistical support across all programme steering groups

The Vacancy
The Programme Development Manager is committed to supporting colleagues and partners in programme design and development. The team also connects programmatic issues and global policy and advocacy to ensure they are complementary and conducive to external change based on evidence from the ground.
Saferworld’s income is secured primarily from statutory and institutional donors; however, securing funding to support our partners in conflict-affected countries and allow for more flexible programming increasingly requires a more diverse funding base. The Programme Development Manager will support efforts to identify and secure funds from statutory donors, trusts and foundations, and other non-traditional funding mechanisms.
The Programme Development Manager will support a portfolio of Saferworld’s teams in designing and mobilising funding for peace, security and justice programmes. The successful applicant will have a focus of approximately 4 countries, which will be decided based on the candidate’s experience and preference. Working closely with Country Managers/Directors, and programme and grant management colleagues, the post-holder will lead on: coordinating and facilitating programme development processes (including taking the lead in drafting high quality concept notes and proposals, theories of change, logical models, risk matrixes and budgets); developing and supporting the implementation of long-term country funding strategies and donor engagement strategies; and supporting new donor engagement and sustaining relationships with current donors. The post-holder will be responsible for growing institutional funding portfolios in our programmes.
The post-holder will have a successful track record in developing programmes and leading new business development efforts with institutional donors such as the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), United States Government (USG)/United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the European Union (EU), UN agencies and European Governments such as Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
