Rays of Sunshine exits to brighten the lives of seriously ill children aged three to 18 across the UK by granting magical wishes and providing ongoing support within the community. Our work creates a positive distraction, reduces isolation, improves self-esteem and creates precious memories and smiles.
In this role you will be responsible for working across corporate partnerships, major donors, trusts and foundations, with a prominent focus on developing our pipeline of prospects and relationships across corporate partnerships and major donors. The charity has a history of success in these areas and we would love to have someone join the team to build upon this success.
The ideal candidate will be driven and ambitious, with experience in one or more of the above areas but you must have significant experience in developing a pipeline and evidence of securing 5 and 6 figure partnerships or gifts.
With a new fundraising strategy and 3-year income growth plan, and support from the organisation where fundraising is embedded throughout, including a supportive board of Trustees and connectors, you will have plenty of opportunities to build relationships and to be a part of the future success.

JOB PURPOSE
UK for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency's national charity partner, is looking for an ambitious and proactive Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer to join the Private Partnerships & Philanthropy team.
ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES
- Account management of a portfolio of high value partnerships, providing first-class relationship management and maximising value, including financial, advocacy, pro bono and in-kind support.
- Work with existing corporate engagement products and support the development of new employee fundraising ideas.
- Research new trends and innovations and emerging areas of interest for corporate partners.
- Act as team lead for quarterly corporate e-newsletter.
- Remain flexible and quickly respond to emergency situations, identifying and responding to fundraising opportunities.
- Support a calendar of cultivation and stewardship events and identify visibility opportunities for UK for UNHCR.
- Collaborate with UK and international Private Partnerships & Philanthropy colleagues where possible to strengthen engagement with partners and prospects across channels.
- Support Senior New Business Officer with prospecting, research and cultivation in designated sectors.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate data on donors on Salesforce and SharePoint
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Experience
- A track record of stewarding and maximising multi-year corporate partnership(s), preferably within the charity sector.
- A track record of devising and delivering bespoke and engaging partnership fundraising plans and campaigns to increase income.
- Experience of communicating complex themes and subjects to a variety of audiences, written and verbal.
- Experience of event management and co-ordination to engage corporates and their employees
Essential Skills/Knowledge
- Ability to act proactively to identify new engagement and fundraising opportunities.
- Ability to juggle and prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines within a collaborative team environment.
- Good attention to detail, strong ability to proof-read and pick up inconsistencies.

About the role
We are seeking a Communications and Marketing Manager to join our dedicated and ambitious team. A newly created role, the successful candidate will lead on the review and refresh of our website, e-newsletters and digital stakeholder engagement.
The successful candidate will report to our Director of Communications and Marketing. The role has no line management responsibility but will work closely with colleagues – including our Communications and Campaigns Manager, Digital Communications Assistant, Junior Graphic Designer and the fundraising teams – so you should be used to collaborating with others, in a dynamic environment.

Duties and responsibilities
Communications and PR
- Develop and deliver an increased presence in national media to raise organisational profile and support growth in our reach, impact and fundraising.
- With the Communications and Campaigns Manager, manage reactive and proactive media activity.
- Support the wider organisation with key campaigns such as International Women’s Day and Smart Works Unemployment Index, suggesting ideas and aiding with the creation and delivery of content on key channels.
- Develop and champion Smart Work’s brand ensuring our vision, mission and values are central in all our communications and that our tone of voice, wider identity and brand principles are followed.
Website and Digital
- Manage the current website and planned updates, and review for future development with key audiences and local centres in mind.
- Develop and maintain the overall e-newsletter plan, and implement digital marketing activity to drive audiences to our website to take action to support our work
- Implement paid content marketing initiatives, recommending content, channels and budgets.
- With the Digital Communications Executive, develop and deliver Smart Work’s digital plan, coordinate proactive social and digital media activities.
- Utilise tools and analysis to report on specific projects and campaigns as needed, providing commentary and making recommendations on improving performance.
Person Specification
- A track record of meeting/exceeding communications and marketing targets, preferably within a charity and/or volunteer environment.
- Able to build an effective brand in line with a charities values and vision to meet organisation goals (including fundraising targets and increased use of services)
- Proven skills in digital communications, including managing websites, content management systems and e-newsletters, with an ability to analyse campaigns and content.
- Strong experience with SEO and social media platforms - with strategic use of targeting/retargeting tools across channels.
- Highly organised, able to plan and balance the need to support income generation with delivering impact for people who could benefit from Smart Work’s services.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to write concisely and with impact
- Great team working skills and an awareness of expectations from other colleagues - collaborative, flexible and supportive.
- Project management skills: ability to plan and deliver projects on time, within budget to meet or exceed an objective.
- A strong creative and proactive approach to all areas of work, with ideas of how to engage target audiences and drive actions through communications.

The role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Community/Events fundraiser, who has a passion for the cause of homelessness. You will continue to build a sustainable Events & Community fundraising programme. The role will involve building relationships with donors and fundraisers to increase income from corporates, individuals, and legacies.
This role plays a pivotal role in growing York Road Project’s voluntary income as well as raising awareness and brand recognition in our local area.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Chief Executive and Fundraising sub-committee to develop and implement a fundraising strategy and execution plan that meet the organisation's income targets.
• Support the Chief Executive in building relationships with major donors.
• Proactively seek out and develop new funding opportunities, with an emphasis on chasing opportunities for long-term and unrestricted income.
• Develop a York Road Project annual fundraising event/campaign, overseeing all administrative tasks, such as mailing list preparation, guest lists, and distribution on campaign items.
• Promote ‘challenge events’ (such as the Surrey Half Marathon) and encourage supporters to take part.
• Encourage supporters to leave legacies in their wills to support the work of the organisation.
• Collaborate with other colleagues and trustees to ensure a coordinated approach to fundraising.
• Accurately record and manage donor data, keeping records up-to-date and GDPR compliant.
• Promote the idea of regular donations to our ad-hoc donors.
• Stay current on fundraising trends and techniques, act as the charity’s thought-leading expert, and drive these trends and techniques into the organisation's fundraising activities.
• Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with relevant regulation and ethical
standards; for example, The Fundraising Regulator, The Charity Commission etc.
• Create marketing and promotional material in accordance with York Road Project branding, to support fundraising activities as required.
• Develop a volunteer program to enhance community involvement and contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives. These activities will be fundraising related, in order to engage local businesses.
• Identify opportunities to develop funding support from companies and organisations to elicit support (at local, regional, and national levels).
• Manage low risk press releases and enquiries.
• Create content for social media (and other digital channels) while always ensuring consistency in line with brand guidelines.
• Plan and drive digital campaigns including Small Charity Week and World Homeless Day.
