About The Murray Parish Trust
Children with a serious illness are three times more likely to struggle with their mental health. Their childhoods are overshadowed by coming to terms with diagnosis, hospital stays, treatment, feeling different from friends or managing how their illness affects daily life. Many of them struggle with severe anxiety and depression, experiencing isolation and trauma during their journey. These children are at much higher risk of long-term mental health difficulties that are more complex and difficult to treat, on top of living with often complex medical needs.
Actors Jim Murray and Sarah Parish’s first daughter, Ella-Jayne, was born with Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome in 2009 and spent half her short life in paediatric intensive care, Southampton Children’s Hospital. Ella-Jayne died, at home, just eight months old. After they recovered from the immediate horror, Jim and Sarah felt an overwhelming drive to help other children and families and founded The Murray Parish Trust in 2014. They were awarded MBE’s in the King’s New Years Honours 2025 for services to seriously ill children and their families.
Our charity delivers projects that support the mental health of seriously ill children and their families. We improve access to specialist, imaginative and empowering support, at the earliest possible moment, to prevent long-term mental health difficulties. We do this by delivering a vast range of projects in children’s hospitals, hospices and other health or community settings across the UK. These include drama, dance, art, nature and music therapy; bereavement and mortuary suites, distraction equipment that reduces anxiety, sanctuary and quiet rooms; sibling support; counselling and therapy rooms; and psychological support for children/family members.
The role - Head of Public Fundraising and Operations
This is an exciting new chapter for The Murray Parish Trust. Our new Head of Public Fundraising and Operations will work closely with the Board of Trustees and our Head of Philanthropy and Projects to scale our impact and expand reach nationwide. They will play a pivotal role in leading operations and shaping the charity’s future, as well as leading on growing income from community, corporate, individual fundraising, which have been identified as strategic fundraising priorities.
We anticipate time will be split roughly equally between leading public fundraising and operational management. There is some freelance support with marketing, corporate and community fundraising, and volunteer coordination, plus trustee support with events; there is scope to expand the team as income grows. This role will support their work as well as personally deliver public fundraising activity, taking sole responsibility for individual giving and legacies.

Key responsibilities
Fundraising: Work alongside with the Head of Philanthropy and Projects to implement the fundraising strategy, including:
- Delivery of the specific fundraising activity delegated to this role to grow income year on year (individuals, community, corporate, legacies, events), supported by the work of freelancers.
- Strategic oversight of all public fundraising including monitoring, evaluating and reporting to the Board.
- Ensure excellence in donor stewardship that helps retain, grow and diversify support from existing donors.
- Maintain a proactive focus on donor acquisition, across the UK, prioritising areas where we have projects.
- Effectively utilise the CRM to proactively and accurately capture donor information and consents.
- Strong focus on return on investment to ensure efficiency in working nationwide, carefully prioritising activity.
Charity management and operations
- Help to shape organisational strategy, using data insight to drive decision making.
- Data management lead; incl. CRM management, data protection, embedding a culture of data collection.
- Lead on setting and managing annual income and expenditure budgets.
- Ensure compliance with the latest regulatory requirements and sector best practice.
- Coordinate and manage policy, procedure, risk management and wider charity administration.
- Provide support for financial management; incl. outsourced book keeping/monthly management accounts; working with accountants to ensure timely production of the Annual Report and Financial Statements
- Work closely with Board members with specific lead responsibility, incl. with the Treasurer in the production of cashflow and other financial reports.
- Supported by the volunteer coordinator (freelance), manage and develop a network of volunteers and ambassadors (e.g. talks, photo calls, events, collection tins, admin, research).
- Act as Secretary to the Board; including statutory filing, coordinating quarterly meetings and taking minutes, compiling/circulating Board papers, diarising other meetings and communication as needed.
- Represent the charity externally with diverse stakeholders.
- Responsible for the effective management and leadership of the public fundraising and operations team.

Job Overview
- Responsible for developing and delivering all fundraising events with the support of the Fundraising Events Manager
- Ensure that all event participants - virtual or physical have an exceptional experience to maximise income and are placed at the heart of everything that we do.

Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Legacy Manager with demonstrated experience, preferably within the charity sector or comparable commercial environment. The role will involve primarily working from home and must be situated in or near London to attend regular in person meetings with key staff.
Key responsibilities
Take responsibility for a portfolio of around 300 legacy pledgers in order to deepen relationships and offer excellent stewardship to ensure that legacy pledgers feel valued by STUK and their pledge is retained.
Act as the first point of contact for legacy enquiries, both internal and external, responding with authority, sensitivity and diplomacy, so that legacy enquirers and intenders choose to leave STUK a gift in their Will.
Plan and deliver a programme of marketing and advertising to promote legacy giving and grow our pipeline of legacy supporters. This will include contributing to campaign strategy development; producing marketing materials including newsletters; and consulting with the Head of Individual Giving re legacy mailings.
Undertake general legacy communications including developing a tangible legacy vision, make phone calls, arrange one to one meetings and write personal notes/letters.
Organise at least 2 – 3 legacy events per year including post-event follow-up.
Organise legacy stewardship activities such as recognition mechanisms.
Liaise with and oversee the administrative work of Legacy Link, our legacy administrators.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all legacy activity on Salesforce and in shared files.
Provide useful data insight and analysis producing regular statistical, qualitative and financial reports of legacy activity.
Manage in memoriam marketing.
Travel
There is limited but regular travel into London for regular team meetings as well as periodic travel as needed around the UK for meetings with legacy pledgers and to organise legacy events.
Required Education and Experience
5+ years of relevant experience with exposure to legacy marketing and liaison with legacy enquirers, considerers and pledgers preferred.
A proven history of generating significant growth in key legacy metrics such as numbers of legacy enquirers and pledgers.
Demonstrated success in developing substantive donor relationships and in supporting senior management and programme staff, to execute donor and engagement strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with both management and donors.
Extremely detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
Able to take ownership of a process and to use problem solving skills to resolve issues.
Able to make sound decisions based on analysis, experience and judgment.
Able to function both independently and as part of a global team.
Familiar with the MS Office and donor management systems. Knowledge of Salesforce and First Class preferred.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, although an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for this required level of education.

About the role
Music Services is the delivery arm of Nordoff & Robbins and encompasses the provision of music therapy and related activities including education, training and research.
The Music Services Administrator will be based on-site at our Newcastle centre 4 days per week and will work closely with the North East and Yorkshire and East Midlands Regional Managers as well as alongside other Music Services Administrators to ensure that the admin function is well run, organised, efficient and effective, and that clients, visitors and callers have a positive experience when they spend time with us. The Open Wing Alliance (OWA), a program of The Humane League, is a global coalition of approximately 90 animal protection organizations across 70+ countries united in a common goal: to end the abuse of chickens worldwide. For the past several years, we have focused our efforts on eliminating battery cages by securing cage-free policies from major retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers. OWA groups share tactics and resources to secure as many wins for animals as possible, specializing in institutional campaigning that can be tailored to our members’ unique circumstances and challenges.
As the Open Wing Alliance Grant Lead, you are accountable for overseeing the OWA’s grant and travel award programs, which provide funding to emerging farm animal protection groups around the world, empowering them to carry out cage-free and broiler campaign work. Your responsibilities include leading the grant application and review process, making funding recommendations, and regularly evaluating grantee progress. This position reports to the Senior OWA Projects Manager.
This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires domestic and international travel, equivalent to 3 or more trips per year.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the OWA’s annual grant cycle from start to finish; this includes collecting applications, leading the funding review process, consolidating feedback from the review team, and making funding recommendations. Conceive and implement improvements to the grant process to increase efficiency and impact.

Collaborate with OWA Regional Leads on the distribution of travel awards for each OWA summit, providing funding to assist OWA member groups with travel expenses.

Organize and lead meetings with grantees to evaluate progress. Develop clear guidelines for progress and financial reporting and build out systems and processes to increase accountability. Create an annual report on each grantee's progress, feedback, and overall success.

Continuously evaluate and enhance the OWA’s Grant Management System (GMS). Maintain up-to-date grant information in accordance with THL’s data privacy policy.

Collaborate with members of THL’s Legal and Finance teams to ensure timely, efficient, and compliant administration of program grants and travel awards. Develop written contracts in partnership with the Legal team, and maintain effective systems for payment processing.

Communicate effectively with OWA member groups in both written and verbal formats, answering questions, providing support, and gathering feedback to improve the grant program.

Ensure equitable access to OWA funding by providing clear and transparent guidelines, taking regional nuances into consideration in decision-making, and fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging.

The annual compensation range for this role is $68,473- $83,689 USD, or £38,203 - £46,692 GBP. At The Humane League, we believe in maintaining a fair and equitable work environment for all employees. Help build powerful and sustainable communities of peer support groups for kinship carers.
About the role:
Funded by the Department for Education, the National Peer Support Service is a game-changing service that creates a sustainable and life-changing legacy. It builds on Kinship’s 10 years of experience in developing peer support groups and two years of delivering a national service that has set up 145 new groups.
This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form Peer Support Groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub. You will be home-based with frequent travel across the London Boroughs and the South East of England, but initially predominantly working in and around Greater London. Note - some work outside this area may be required.
You will do this by working with local authorities, schools, other charities and community groups. Arranging information events such as coffee mornings to engage kinship carers.
You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment.
Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a person located in or close to Greater London, and willing to travel across the South East of England who possesses the drive, passion, and skills to:
- Establish new Peer Support Groups across a diverse range of communities
- Supervise a small team of Peer Support Development Officers
- Demonstrate the energy and enthusiasm required to inspire yourself and your team to achieve key targets and objectives
- Work collaboratively within the Peer Support and Community Team, as well as throughout the broader organisation, to ensure the delivery of safe and effective support services for the kinship community
- Maintain current Peer Support Groups, taking the lead from the national Hub
- Maintain accurate records that are used to populate reports, identify learning and share key insights across Kinship that allow the organisation to continuously improve our services and products
In the role of Senior Peer Support Officer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, consistent, and sustainable peer support service that has a significant impact on the lives of kinship carers.
You should have experience in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with various community-based stakeholders such as local authorities, health services, schools, charities, and kinship carers. You will need to understand the key success factors involved in establishing and developing new in-person groups in areas of high need, as well as how to support existing groups in their journey toward sustainability.
As a practical thinker, you will work creatively to identify stakeholders and assets in areas of high need. You will build local connections and bring together kinship carers across the region, empowering them to build resilient and robust peer support communities.
You will be confident in building relationships that generate referrals from external stakeholders and in contacting kinship carers directly to secure engagement with local coffee mornings, community, and training events that will help kick-start a thriving peer support group.
As you establish new groups, you will provide training to help them lead their groups effectively, and develop a healthy group culture, resilience, and skills to function independently while offering reassurance and support to empower them.
You will be an inspirational and energetic team leader with experience in providing day-to-day line management and operational support for a small team.
We are ideally looking for candidates based in or around Greater London and willing to work initially across the London Boroughs and into the South East of England. This role may involve work to establish groups on the periphery of this area that currently have no dedicated Development staff.
An essential requirement of the role is to be a driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Key responsibilities:
Service delivery:
- In person (face-to-face) strategic outreach into local and regional communities including setting up and attending local engagement events
- Work creatively to set up and develop new sustainable in peer support groups, attending up to six sessions in person (if needed) before transition to self-sufficiency. Existing groups that are at risk, closed or need support will need replacing or rejuvenating to maintain DfE service level agreements across the team, in addition to the development of new groups
- Recruit and retain support group leaders to develop their peer support groups
- Deliver training to support group leaders (group roles and responsibilities, safeguarding, setting up, running, and promoting a group)
- Develop strong boundaries and positive relationships with support group leaders – building resilience, empowerment, and community
- Support established groups in your area to access support group leader networks and training (this includes visiting groups in person) to build a peer community
- Help develop and deliver a service blueprint for sustainable peer support groups, thinking strategically about how to develop groups
- You'll collaborate closely with the ‘Hub’ team to provide a joined-up and positive user experience for kinship carers. This collaborative approach is key to our success and ensures that kinship carers receive the best possible support
- Manage special interest groups and regional online groups as required, transitioning to ‘Hub’ team for sustainability and work with partners

Business Development at Refugee Council
We operate two main service departments supporting refugees (resettlement, employment, and integration) and people seeking asylum (casework, therapeutic support, and social support for adults and children. We also have a smaller Practice Development team supporting Refugee Community Organisations and frontline practitioners to develop their skills and capacity to meet the needs of people seeking asylum and refugees. Our Business Development team sits within our Fundraising and External Affairs team and works closely with our services directorate.
The purpose of this role is to bolster the resource of our Business Development team in order to build the foundations for statutory income generation for Refugee Council in the immediate term and for the future. The key elements of the role are to:
- Identify the appropriate statutory commissioners to liaise with when presenting our service models. This is a time intensive task that requires research via different platforms and networks (e.g. LinkedIn, web searches, internal colleague contacts, and related market insights).
- Assess feedback and insights following engagement with commissioners, identify patterns and opportunities, and contribute towards Business Development’s funder engagement and fundraising strategy.
- Prepare background documents, such as up-to-date context statements and summaries, for use in proposals, tenders, service models, and related Business Development products. Lead on various administrative tasks to support the function of the Business Development team, such as completing selection questionnaires for competitive tenders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Research:
- Our Business Development Officer will lead the researching and mapping statutory commissioners, service delivery partners, and providers to produce a clear picture of service delivery landscape, commissioner interests, and commissioning trends to inform business development strategies across our geographical hub areas.
- They will identify appropriate and influential statutory commissioners (via internal colleagues, LinkedIn, online searches, and related sources) for Business Development colleagues to contact. Through their detailed research they will build an in-depth understanding of commissioner roles and remit, interests, and priority areas of work that will help us influence statutory commissioners.
- They will lead on developing and maintaining content-rich, in depth evidence-based summaries on clients’ and commissioners’ evolving needs for use in proposals, tenders, service models, and strategy documents. These summaries will be highly persuasive and enable to team to influence funders. They will be required to analyse complex data and evidence presenting asylum and refugee trends and figures as well as statutory funding available across a range of sources.
Contract: Fixed term until 31/10/2025.
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (would be open to part time working of 28 hours for the right candidate).
