Our exploitation project workers work directly with children and young people who are survivors of abuse/ vulnerable to abuse through sexual and criminal exploitation. We also work with parents/ carers providing bespoke packages of support to help raise their knowledge and understanding of exploitation as well providing strategies which helps them to feel more confident in supporting and protecting their children.

This is a new and strategically important position in a growing team. Our advocacy - the use of information and evidence to drive change in policy, practices and attitudes - and the effective engagement of target audiences to stimulate action, is at the core of our success in forging a fairer water future.
As a senior member of the Public and Political Engagement team, the Advocacy and Engagement Manager will work closely with our Research and Operations teams, and partners across Africa, Asia and South America. They will engage with decision makers in government, business, financial institutions, multi-lateral and network organisations, local and international NGOs, and the media, to advance evidence-based solutions to the conjoined global crises of water, climate, nature and inequality.
In particular, they will play a key role in our Fair Water Footprints Campaign and the wider delivery of the Glasgow Declaration for Fair Water Footprints. With new funding from the UK Government’s Just Transitions for Water Security Programme, these game changing initiatives seek to end the abuse of water in our supply chains, and to establish responsible water stewardship as the global business norm by 2030 so that trade and business accelerate, rather than undermine, shared water security. This will be achieved through mobilising the power of scientific evidence and citizen voices to trigger change in government policies, corporate practices, financial disclosure, and political and public expectations. The choreography and delivery of this change will be a core focus of the successful candidate’s work.
This role will involve travel within the UK and internationally, including in Africa and South America, and would suit an exceptional communicator who is fluent in the technical and policy aspects of water and climate justice, and who has several years of demonstrable experience in using advocacy, communications, and stakeholder engagement to drive change. - Leading the process of creating the annual budget, strategic three-to-five-year forecasts, monthly/quarterly management accounts and preparation of budgets for funding bids and reporting
- Prepare and lead the annual audit process, including required governance with relevant bodies.
- Supporting budget holder colleagues to manage individual project finances.
- Preparing management accounts/finance reports to provide staff, Treasurer and trustees with the financial information they need for good decision making and planning future work

The Individual Giving Manager will contribute towards Ex Cathedra’s ongoing sustainability and success by maximising philanthropic income:
Strategy and research
• build, maintain and continually seek to expand a pipeline of prospects capable of making gifts at a high 4-, 5- and 6-figure level, making sure that all progress is tracked, monitored and reviewed on a routine basis
• explore our existing data to identify major gift prospects, working in line with data protection law and fundraising regulations
Individual giving
• work closely with the General Manager and Individual Giving Officer to further develop and implement strategies that will increase major gifts and legacy donations to Ex Cathedra, dovetailing with the Trusts and Foundations consultant where appropriate
• arrange and conduct face-to-face meetings with prospects and donors to help build and progress meaningful relationships through regular dialogue
• use their judgement to involve the artistic director, trustees and colleagues where most beneficial/advantageous
• align prospective donors with high-value funding opportunities for the performance programme, education and participation work, or area of greatest need according to the interests of the donor

About you

About the team
This is an important role based in a busy Operations team which covers office management, information technology, finance and human resources. The team play a key role in supporting the organisation to achieve its mission of supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to succeed.

We are looking for a talented professional with a strong understanding of CRM and digital systems and a passion for maximising the value of data, who is looking to join an organisation where they can put their skills to use across all aspects of our operations. This will include data from, and working with, all departments of Impetus, including our donors and prospects, our collaboration with partner charities, and our communications with email audiences. You will also manage the relationship with our existing Salesforce partner agency, drawing on them for additional support resource and coordinating broader development projects. The successful candidate will have experience developing and drawing value from Salesforce, including both technical development and collaborating closely with teams to drive engagement and best practice.
You will be responsible for our other cross-organisational digital systems, including our office and file storage platforms, data warehouse, visualisation, and ETL tools, website analytics, and Digital Asset Management system, as well as providing support for our Finance and HR systems, including providing training to staff and answering any questions related to these systems. You will collaborate closely with our Communications team, for example around website and social media analytics and reviewing the progress of the social media strategy. From time to time you may also be asked to provide support or advice to our portfolio charities. The role will also be responsible for helping to drive adoption of GenAI across Impetus.
As the sole technical and digital specialist role at Impetus, this position requires a collaborative individual who can work across diverse teams while also operating independently with a high level of autonomy. You will take ownership of CRM and systems for a dynamic, inquisitive, and growing organisation, helping to drive its growth and impact.
Key responsibilities
CRM:
- Own the development and administration of our Salesforce system.
- Work with all teams at Impetus to maximise their engagement with Salesforce and provide relevant training.
