The role

As a Stock Transport Driver, you will be responsible for moving donations, including clothing for Scope Retail Area 18 across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

You will deliver a great customer experience to our donators when collecting or delivering donations. 

We will ask you to keep your vehicle and stock secure plus plan for routine maintenance and repairs.

About you

As a Scope Stock Transport Driver, you’ll need a full, clean driving licence with a willingness to undertake relevant training.

You’ll enjoy delivering great customer service and have a professional, courteous manner with the general public.

You must also be able to able to lift heavy and/or bulky items and happy to be trained in the use of lifting equipment for very heavy items.

You’ll enjoy being out and about working outdoors, in all weathers, travelling far and wide in your area.

It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day, so some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. We work 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.

The scope of the role of the Financial Controller is to lead a best-in-class financial control function which:

• meets and exceeds the charity’s legal and statutory responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervise the processing of the payroll, ensuring coding is correct and all payments, including deductions, are made on time.

• Ensure all income is banked promptly and all liabilities are settled when due.

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

• A fully qualified CCAB accountant
• Demonstrable experience in the preparation of SORP compliant accounts
• Strong internal control environments and effective month end and year-end routines
• Experience in the development of efficient business systems would also be desirable
• The ability to lead and develop a high performing team whilst successfully coordinating the work of the department to meet internal and external timescales is key to the role
• Excellent relationship management skills, and the ability to work within a cross-functional Leadership Team to continuously improve the service and support delivered by the Finance directorate

Derby Family Drug and Alcohol Safeguarding Service specializes in working with parents, families, and young people across a range of home and community settings supporting parents to build insight into the impact of parental substance misuse whilst developing safety and risk management strategies to minimize risk to the wider family. The support package includes person-centered 1:1 intervention as well as peer groups, YP activities, and educational parenting courses.

Right now, we’re looking for an energetic, self-confident and flexible individual to develop and implement a participation plan and co-production and support the delivery of a volunteer programme across the service. Among your challenges will be the need to ensure general service user participation and empowerment is implemented across the service to help adults and young people who use it have input into service delivery decision making and development. You’ll also be responsible for supporting the recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers. And, when it comes to creating a strategy for obtaining service user feedback or playing your part in wider organisational forums and groups, again, we will count on you to deliver.

To succeed, you’ll need broad experience of working with volunteers/peer mentor service users and promoting their needs, including within the substance misuse sector. A good understanding of the functional approach to substance misuse and the harm caused to individuals, families and communities by substance misuse and gambling will be key to your success, as will a commitment to the Recovery Agenda. Great at engaging with clients, you have what it takes to communicate and work effectively with people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds. Learning Disability Community Caseworker

Mencap's advice service are looking for a Learning Disability Community Caseworker that specialises in delivering energy and money advice using video calling, telephone and email advice and face to face in the community. 

This is a fixed term contract until March 2026, working 30 hours per week. We are flexible to where you do your work, but there will be an expectation of travel to our Peterborough office or community venues when needed.

Working with three other Energy and Money Advice Caseworkers - you will:

· Offer clear accessible advice to people with a Learning Disability, their families and carers.

· Manage a caseload of your own clients.

· Create, book and deliver workshops, events and webinars on Money and Energy Advice.

· Identify and undertake safeguarding alerts, following up on these and challenging them if necessary.

· Ensure that the caseworkers are at the right locations, with the right stock and equipment ensuring cost-efficient travel and venue planning/booking and excellent time management.

· Working with Subject Matter Experts in other nominated advice areas, to refer cases in and out of other parts of the team when the clients need more than Money and Energy Advice.

· Communicate effectively and accessibly, with empathy and clarity.

· Assist with the monitoring and evaluation of the project, capturing K.P.I's and flagging any slippage.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Warwickshire. Your role will require you to travel to locations such as clients’ homes, hospitals, care homes and within community settings across the area to meet with clients and professionals. You will be home based for administration; therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential. 

About you

Desirably you will have some experience of working in advocacy, or providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing education and support.

You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support services, education or young person’s services, or advice and guidance.

You will be responsible for ensuring the individual’s wishes, feelings, beliefs, needs, and values are met to create positive outcomes for the people you support.

You will support people to speak up for themselves and grow in confidence, equip them to understand and exercise their rights and options, and will assist them in the decision-making process relating to their care, treatment, and support.

You will work resourcefully and collaboratively with the individuals you support.  You’ll be creative in your approach to empower our clients by ensuring you meaningfully explain people’s options and rights to them.  You’ll support individuals to fully participate in decisions affecting them and will make sure they have their voices heard.

Hays Senior Finance is proud to be working in partnership with World Land Trust (WLT) who are looking to appoint a Head of Finance. This is a pivotal appointment where you will lead and deliver on financial aspects of their ambitious plans.

WLT is an international conservation charity that protects the world’s most biologically significant and threatened habitats and species. Their mission is to help people across the world protect and restore their land to safeguard biodiversity and the climate.  Working through a network of partner organisations around the world, WLT funds the creation of reserves and provides permanent protection for habitats and wildlife. Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Finance will provide a stable and flexible finance function to support the charity at an exciting time of growth and development. Working with teams across the organisation, this role is critical to maximising impact through excellent financial management. You will need to communicate with all levels to promote understanding of the finances of the charity, including preparing information to trustees and finance audit and risk committee, as well as being an advisor to the COO and wider Executive team in contributing to forward planning and strategy.

You will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the charity and its wholly owned subsidiary. This role will include overseeing and finalising the production of financial management information, leading on the production of budgets, forecasts and financial planning and analysis. The role will take on the main contact for relevant external stakeholders such as bankers, auditors and investment managers and will work closely with, and support, the COO on strategic planning to deliver organisational growth.

WLT has an ambitious growth strategy and is committed to investing in improved systems across the organisation to enhance their delivery. You will play an integral part in the management and delivery of WLT’s programmes, especially relating to cash management, budgeting and financial sustainability.

The ideal candidate will be a finance professional and be ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA qualified or equivalent, with previous experience of leading a finance team within a Charity or similar organisation. With a strong degree of financial acumen, you will have. the ability to liaise and communicate with high level key stakeholders, and create insightful financial information that will direct business planning and performance. You will be an effective team manager who is able to communicate professionally at all levels within the organisation and with proven experience in leading and developing finance teams to be organisational business partners in line with WLT’s stewardship model.

Horsham Matters - Overview

 Horsham Matters is a local Christian charity that works to prevent and relieve poverty throughout our district.  We do this by the provision of essential services such as food, fuel and household goods, providing advice and guidance to households in need, and working with partners to address the root causes of poverty. Our work is funded by income generated through donated goods which can be sold in our shop or online, by grants and donations and through public fundraising.

 Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is a critical role to ensure the smooth running of all our operations.  Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team with responsibility for leading a team of staff, volunteers and 3rd party contractors.  You will strive to continually improve systems and procedures across the Charity whilst maximising opportunities to increase income.

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week), which will also require some weekend working (approx. 8 Saturdays/year).

Core Responsibilities:

Operational leadership:

· Line management of Logistics Team including performance management, building capability and training etc.

· Ensure smooth communication and excellent links across Charity buildings

· Ensure the optimal use of the vans for delivery, collections etc., including the planning of routes which are cost effective and time efficient

· Work with the Office Manager team to ensure that the needs of clients requiring household items are met by the Logistics team

· Work with the Store Manager to ensure that the Charity store is stocked appropriately, including arrangements for stock rotation

· Support volunteers to develop their role in the warehouse, providing clear instructions and setting expectations

· Liaise with third party contractors including removals firm, IT contractor and others as required

 Safe environment

· Responsible for maintaining a safe environment at our Community Support Centre and other Charitable Activity venues; completing health and safety tasks

· Responsibility for all Horsham Matters buildings, ensuring effective maintenance and building related health and safety

· Ensure vehicles are safe and road worthy, ensuring essential maintenance takes place

· Fully participate and demonstrate best practice including the physical aspects of moving equipment and furniture, as well as driving the van and all other tasks across the logistics sector of the charity

· Ensure that items not suitable for sale are disposed of appropriately and in a timely manner to prevent health and safety issues arising

· Develop and continually review reuse and recycling ensuring that the Charity optimises reuse, as well as maximising revenue

Online sales

· Lead for on-line sales and all other sales avenues excluding our Charity shop (Love it Again) – including ensuring that items are collected, advertised sold and delivered appropriately and maximising gift aid opportunities with donors

· Provide excellent customer service to all members of the public

 Additional Duties

· As a small charity, all employees are required to work together flexibly and collaboratively which may require undertaking different tasks on occasion as agreed with the Managing Director

Alzheimer’s Research UK – Director of Individual Giving and Legacies

Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK), the UK’s leading dementia research charity, is seeking a mass fundraising specialist to head up its Individual Giving and Legacies Directorate.

ARUK has a vision of a world free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia. The charity is working to revolutionise the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia and exists for a cure.  With a network of centres of research excellence across the UK, alongside investing in the wider research community, ARUK has supported thousands of scientists working on breakthroughs in dementia research based across the UK and the world.
 
For the first time, new treatments are on the horizon that can slow the course of Alzheimer’s disease – the leading cause of dementia – and there have encouraging signs that blood tests could revolutionise its diagnosis. While these are promising steps forward, there is still a long way to transform the lives of people affected by all forms of dementia. That’s why the charity launched a new 10 year strategy in 2023 and a powerful new brand, to catalyse this progress and change lives.

This role will be the strategic lead for a directorate of approximately 40 people with a diverse portfolio covering direct marketing, legacy and in memoriam, data and CRM, and supporter care functions – teams that are responsible for generating around 50% of the charity’s fundraised income.

The Director will be responsible for developing and driving ARUK’s engagement and income growth ambitions, working alongside the Deputy Chief Executive & Executive Director of Fundraising and Marketing and fellow directors, with a focus on continuous improvement and learning.  They will also work across the charity to maximise opportunities to engage new supporters, inspiring long-term relationships and ensuring that supporters are at the heart of everything ARUK does.

 
ARUK are looking for a fundraiser with extensive mass fundraising experience across direct marketing and legacies, and a track record in driving significant income growth by developing and executing acquisition and retention strategies.  Candidates will also have a demonstrable aptitude and passion for data and CRM development, alongside experience of leading excellence in supporter care.  Candidates are sought with exemplary leadership skills and the ability to build relationships and inspire confidence and respect at all levels. A strong team player, the successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills, as well as being able to think strategically and creatively in a busy, dynamic environment. Finally, they will be passionate about the difference ARUK can make for everyone affected by dementia.
