Turn2us is a national charity tackling financial insecurity and its structural causes. We work with co-producers and partners to provide people in financial crisis with the means and agency to get back on their feet, build resilience, move forward with their lives and thrive.

Turn2us and its partners have secured £1.5 million from The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver an ambitious and innovative new programme that will support charities in England and Scotland to empower diverse and marginalised communities to respond to climate change and to get their voices heard in environmental policy and media debates.It will focus on Disabled people, those facing financial insecurity and people from ethnic minority communities. These voices are often the least heard from in national and local debates on our environment. This new work aims to change that.

As part of this programme, The National Lottery Community Fund have funded the creation of an Engagement Manager post at Turn2us to work with those facing financial insecurity. The Engagement Manager employed by Turn2us will deliver activity with smaller charities and grassroots organisations supporting those facing financial insecurity that:

• Increases awareness of the impact of environmental change and related policy on different communities 
• Listens to people in these communities to find out what actions they want charities and local government to take
• Develops shared local environmental policy priorities and empowers these organisations to advocate directly to local and national policy makers
• Identifies actions that these organisations can take to support communities to respond to climate change, and helps organisations to implement them
• Identifies people with lived experience to receive hands on training in order to act as diverse champions to media and policy makers

They will work closely with Community Engagement Managers employed by Disability Rights UK, and Race Equality Foundation, focussed on reaching organisations supporting Disabled people and people from ethnic minority communities. 

We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working. Please note that all employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 4 days a month on a weekly basis.

Some roles may be required to be in the office more often than others and this will be agreed with the hiring manager upon starting at Turn2us.

About the role:

The British Museum is seeking a Management Accountant to join the Finance department and provide a first-class management accounting service across the Museum. In this role, you will prepare timely and accurate management accounts, analysis and forecasts, whilst delivering projects on time and within budget.

Group Financial Controller | up to £700 per day (Umbrella) | Hybrid | London | 12-months +

For a large international organisation, we are recruiting an Interim Group Financial Controller to focus on their short-term cash flow forecast model, intercompany, and trapped cash. Critically, this role will fully implement and embed the use of a 13-week short term cashflow forecast and will oversee the cash repatriation to the UK from overseas entities, liaising with Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Group Statutory Reporting, and the MSP. The Group Financial Controller will also lead monthly close, balance sheet integrity, intercompany processes and compliance, and develop insight and understanding of the company's working capital to drive initiatives to optimise.

Main Duties:

• Fully develop and embed the short-term 13-week cash flow forecast and process notes with the goal of transferring this to the MSP

About the role

As one of two Regional Programmes Manager, you’ll inspire and lead a team of Senior Programmes Officers and Kinship Family Workers to effectively deliver high quality support services for kinship families across Greater London, the South of England and the Midlands.

You’ll do this by working in close collaboration with local authority teams who have commissioned our services and other funders where appropriate.

You’ll have accountability and ownership for ensuring we deliver impactful services for kinship carers and that we meet targets for our commissioned services. Working collaboratively with our other managers in other services, you’ll ensure we’re delivering high impact programmes.

You’ll ensure your team have real clarity and direction on their role and responsibilities - encouraging curiosity, learning and solutions-focused thinking. As a leader in the organisation, you are a key model for the team.

Your team will deliver the following programmes:

• Kinship Connected – in-person one-to-one support and support groups in the community
• Kinship Reach – remote one-to-one support and virtual support groups
• Kinship Ready – online workshops to prepare new and prospective special guardians for their role, as well as wraparound one-to-one support (in one local authority)

You will also manage a new role of Grants Officer - London, funded by the Aviva Foundation.

As one of our deputy safeguarding leads, you’ll be part of our key safeguarding structure.  This means you’ll take ownership to make sure our people feel confident and well supported to demonstrate best practice and making sure safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

Essential requirements include:

• Substantial experience in managing a regional service or programme with high quality outputs (national experience desirable but not essential).
• Substantial experience of managing, developing and evaluating effective and innovative services for families experiencing crisis and experience in reaching ‘hidden communities’ and a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Experience of leading and managing continuous improvement in changing contexts.
• Experience of governance and managing risk on high profile service delivery.
• Experience of ensuring that services are designed and led with user needs at the heart, ensuring that the voices of our kinship carers inform ongoing design and development of our programmes.

Our Finance team is looking to recruit a Finance Officer to join our Accounts Payable (AP) team to support the work and transactions that British Heart Foundation (BHF) perform for us to fund lifesaving science.
 
As an Accounts Payable Finance Officer, you'll:

• support the team and deliver a high-quality service in terms of timely, accurate and efficient entry of BHF expenditure onto our central accounting system
• ensure you achieve key performance indicators and individual targets agreed upon and set by the AP Team leader
• ensure that all transactions are coded and authorised to meet month end deadlines and meet agreed service levels.
• work on data capture and will have knowledge of IPOS queue management.
   

The AP team provides a high level of customer service, ensuring colleagues and suppliers are kept updated in the process and that the payment process is as smooth as possible, so you’ll effectively manage your workload and escalate complex issues to the team lead.

Understanding the needs of customers, you’ll raise the profile of finance through provision across the AP team of best-in-class service both internally and externally.

The role involves dealing with internal & external customers via email and over the phone, so you’ll be confident communicating in both conversation and writing.

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

About you 
 

You’ll have previous experience within accounts payable or be someone wanting to get into Finance with strong organisational skills, able to pick up tasks quickly and with ease.

With excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, you’ll be able to build strong working relationships within Finance and across the BHF and be comfortable communicating finance information to non-finance colleagues. 

The role is working within a high-volume, fast-paced team, so you’ll have excellent time management and organisational skills.

To excel in the role you will have:

• Accounts payable experience: A strong understanding and experience of BACs, invoicing, reconciliation, finance administration, and Account Payable processes. Familiarity with HMRC requirements for VAT and payments within the UK banking system, and a good knowledge of GDPR.
• Proficient IT and financial systems skills: Excellent IT skills including MS Excel and financial application software packages. 
• Problem-solving and analytical skills: Outstanding attention to detail with an analytical approach to data. Strong problem-solving skills with a logical and methodical approach to identifying and resolving issues independently.
• Team player with a can-do attitude: A self-starter who is proactive and a good team player. Exhibits a can-do attitude and is able to manage workload with direction from the team lead.

Purpose of the role

To lead on corporate partnerships and support the other areas of income generation, including trusts and foundations fundraising and service development. This role will have a national remit and work closely with Brook’s Executive Team and colleagues across the organisation to support business growth and innovation through effective management of existing and new partnerships.

Essential criteria

• Proven experience of securing effective and successful corporate partnerships within the charitable sector.    
• Significant experience of securing funding and generating income through charitable trusts, foundations or other funding bodies and partnership working. 
• Outstanding communication skills at all levels, with the ability to build successful relationships with a range of partners, including corporate/ business partners 
• Good financial understanding and ability to develop and present budgets and financial information. 
• Knowledge of corporate/ charitable relationships and the added value these can bring to both partners.

• Hours: Full Time 37.5 Hours per week

(Upon completing your probationary period, you will be eligible to join the 4 Day Week program, which allows you to work 20% fewer hours without a decrease in salary)
