Katherine Low Settlement is a busy, local charity that has been serving Battersea and the wider Wandsworth community since 1924. We are dedicated to building stronger communities and enable people to challenge and find ways out of poverty and isolation.

We run a range of our own community services to support older people and children, young people, and their families from refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people.

Role Purpose: Lead strategic direction and operational management of KLS’ Refugee Family Programme, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, responsive service delivery, and community impact maximization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear leadership and management for KLS’ Refugee Family Programme, integrating previous projects into a cohesive, holistic approach.
• Manage programme budget and financial development, supporting fundraising efforts for sustainability.
• Lead the strategic planning and expansion of the Refugee Family Programme, enhancing community outreach, advocacy, education, mentoring, and club initiatives.
• Conduct ongoing horizon scanning and environmental analysis to identify growth opportunities and evolving community needs.
• Cultivate and sustain effective networks and partnerships to empower program participants.
• Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer to implement robust processes and systems for continuous improvement and impactful reporting.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Administration:

• Recruit, train, manage, and support program team members, conducting regular supervision sessions, appraisals, and training.

• Ensure adherence to KLS’ safeguarding policies and procedures across the program team, acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date member and project records using Salesforce.
• Manage program budget in collaboration with Senior Leadership and Finance Director, monitoring income, expenditure, and financial reporting to the Board of Trustees.
• Supervise the use of Salesforce database, ensuring data accuracy, integration with KLS’ systems, and compliance with data protection regulations.

• Embed safeguarding best practices across the program team, ensuring appropriate management and recording of safeguarding concerns.

The Finance and Operations Team underpins the Charity’s delivery of its mission and is responsible for management of the Charity’s endowment, financial sustainability and charitable impact, governance and compliance, and management of business operations such as IT, facilities etc.

One of their goals for the next five years is to ensure that the Charity’s assets continue to be in good order, and this job holder will play a pivotal role in ensuring successful project delivery and well-executed business processes.

The charity operates primarily within the four boroughs served by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham, and Southwark), but the work they fund has the potential for wider impact at both national and international levels, through the sharing of the outcomes with the wider mental health community.

• An understanding of autism and experience working with autistic adults without a learning disability
• Strong understanding of the duties of statutory services and key legislation that underpins the rights of autistic people

International Field Officer - various locations overseas (January 2025 start date)

£25,956 increasing to £33,959 following completion of training

Location: Initial Field Officer training will be in Cambodia or Sri Lanka. First posting will be assigned across any of our global programmes.

The mission of the HALO Trust is: “To lead the effort to save lives and restore livelihoods for those affected by conflict”. HALO clears landmines, disposes of explosive ordnance including IEDs, and is involved in weapon control.

When you become a Field Officer in HALO, you join a team with a shared commitment to making a difference in some of the most vulnerable communities in the world. HALO offers a full training package for the role of Field Officer, and you do not require previous knowledge of landmine clearance or ordnance disposal.

HALO wants people who have a sense of adventure but are responsible and mature. We are looking for leaders who are resilient and self-motivated.

HALO’s Field Officers work across our programmes in various roles and with early responsibilities. You will need the aptitude to be able to function in dynamic and challenging environments and you should have demonstrable management and leadership skills.

HALO’s training will prepare you for deployment to one of our programmes where you could be leading between 250 and 1,000 local employees. On the Field Officer course you will receive technical training in mine clearance, basic explosive ordnance disposal and minefield survey. You will cover HALO’s finance, logistics, security and quality management systems. Once deployed to a programme, in addition to operational field work you will be involved in equipment auditing and maintenance, overseeing repair of vehicles, and writing reports and proposals.

Working for HALO is rewarding, but it is also physically and mentally demanding. Living and operating in remote locations in basic conditions can be wearing. You will be away from home for months on end. HALO Field Officers must be flexible and be willing to be posted to any of HALO's programmes.

Job Purpose
Your legacy will be a tangible impact on slowing down climate change and helping nature recover by overseeing and leading on income generation and financial sustainability. We are looking for a positive people-person with commercial development experience, financial acumen and the ambition to help take Avon Needs Trees (ANT) to our next level of impact, as we prepare for exponential growth over the next year. Your work will ensure the short- and long-term sustainability of ANT, enabling us to keep delivering impact for decades to come. You will secure ANT financially and drive forward innovative new commercial opportunities, helping to deliver on our goals to plant hundreds of thousands of trees and complementary habitats. Immediate commercial opportunities include natural capital sales, ethical investing, business model development for Landscape Recovery in the Lower Chew and development of ANT’s ecotourism trading arm.

As a fast-growing, high impact charity all of our roles have direct operational responsibilities in addition to managing teams and thinking strategically and with vision.

Main responsibilities
● Lead on ANT’s overall commercial development strategy to ensure long term financial viability and sustainability of the charity
● Pioneer the development and implementation of a new Commercial Trading Arm for ANT to support and accelerate ANT’s charitable impact
● Champion and drive forward new sources of income for ANT including natural capital development, ethical investments and ecotourism development
● Direct the development of business models and natural capital finance models and plans to support Landscape Recovery across thousands of acres of land in the Lower Chew
● Identify, seize and support new income, funding and fundraising opportunities, and help guide ANT through a period of business and transformation and growth
● Line-manage and oversee the work of our finance and natural capital staff, and ultimately trading body staff, to ensure our people are well-supported and our work is impactful
● Direct operational responsibilities to advance our work at pace
● Work with the Chief Executive and other Heads on organisational strategy, finance and organisational sustainability
● Work with the Chief Executive to ensure trustees have appropriate information and understanding of our finances and commercial strategy

ACT (or Aldates Community Transformation Initiatives) is a welcoming community that includes many with lived experience of prison, street homelessness or addiction. Through street and prison outreach, community meals, mentoring and housing, we help people rebuild their lives after some of life’s toughest experiences.

Everything we do is designed to help people find belonging, purpose and hope. That looks different for each person. But most of our activities are rooted in relationship – whether that’s bacon butty breakfasts, small group sessions, back-to-work projects or our annual holiday.

ACT is a registered charity with the board of trustees drawn from within the church, including the Rector. Occasionally we invite other trustees with specific expertise. ACT has a total income of around £400,000 per annum, five salaried staff, and over 100 volunteers from within the church. Staff are employed by St Aldates PCC and seconded to the ACT Charity with the Head of Charity line managed by the St Aldates COO.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Crucial to the success of ACT is the Head of Charity, who provides leadership and vision, ensures that its activities are underpinned by prayer, and that this work remains central to the ministry of St Aldates.

As the Head of Charity, you will drive the charity's mission and vision alongside the Board, ensuring our community receives the best possible support.

You will have a heart for those who have been marginalised, and experience of running a business or charity. Your role will be to lead staff and volunteers in the vision and manage funds and key projects. Partnering with others across other charities, key stakeholders and donors you will become a strong ambassador for the charity.

Are you a proactive, highly organised and compassionate individual with a proven record of successfully engaging with young people involved in or at risk of serious youth violence and exploitation?  Do you have strong experience of providing support, advice and advocacy and the ability to communicate clients’ needs effectively?

If so, St Giles is looking for a Senior Children and Young People Caseworker to join us and provide both face-to-face and virtual/remote one-to-one casework to young people aged between 10-25 years old at risk or on the periphery of gangs, serious youth violence and offending.

About St Giles Trust 

An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need.  Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.

About this key role

You will manage a caseload of up to 15 clients and support a minimum of 20 new clients annually and play a central role in preventing serious youth violence, exploitation, offending and ensuring the safety of at-risk individuals. To achieve this, you will conduct initial needs assessments, before developing individual support and risk management plans, ensuring that you promote inter-agency collaborating in the process, and regularly reviewing the progress against these plans.

We will also count on you to provide vital holistic support, including social and housing support, finances, benefits, parenting, health, education, training & employment, and criminal justice system involvement.  Working closely with colleagues to ensure team effectiveness and building and maintaining relationships with partner agencies are also both key aspects of this role, as are collecting information and evidence for monitoring and service evaluation and ensuring that you efficiently close cases and identify ongoing support routes for your clients.

What we are looking for

• Proven record of recruiting, engaging, and motivating target client groups

• Experience of the effective delivery of bespoke training to one-to-one or with small groups

• A sound understanding of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area

• Knowledge of issues facing this client group, including youth offending, knife crime, social exclusion, child criminal exploitation, adverse childhood experiences, and trauma

• Developing monitoring systems and writing case studies on client sessions

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

• A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.
