We are looking for an experienced, highly organised detail-oriented individual to assist our Finance Operations Manager in a part-time role. This position will be responsible for assisting with sales ledger, purchase ledger, journal entries, assisting with accounts preparation and ensuring payments are made. We are looking for a trustworthy person to join our small team to enable the charity to deliver fantastic outcomes for our beneficiaries
Skills and Qualities
Essential:
- Working with QuickBooks or similar software
- Working independently and within a team of paid staff and volunteers
- Working with online banking systems
- Excellent numeracy and organisational skills paying close attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills, including MS Office package especially Excel
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure

We are looking for an experienced project manager, who can rely on their expertise while tailoring their approach to the context and reporting requirements of the Church in Wales.
You should be a self-starter – someone who can combine their creative and time-management skills to motivate and organise local church teams to embrace new initiatives, develop new, innovative projects, and see these through to completion. The ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, will be key to success.
You should have experience of reporting on project progress to diverse audiences. Reporting and accountability are key in this role; to support this, you will have direct access to meet with the bishop, as project sponsor. You will be expected to meet regularly – both individually, and together with other project managers across the province – with the nominated officer of the Representative Body, as funder.
You will have experience of working with finance colleagues to ensure that accurate and detailed income and expenditure records are being kept for the project and summarised as part of the regular project reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the charity, including payroll, pension, banking, purchase and sales ledgers across multiple organisations
- Lead on good practice, implementing effective working methods, checks and controls to improve efficiency of processing across all finance activities
- Adapt and progress working methods to cover all aspects of the Charitable activity – Education, Commissioned services, OEC short courses. Considering the varied nature of clients, suppliers and staff for every activity
- Implement revised processes to cover site development – Project Learnhive
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management accounts, cash flow and performance reports for the CEO, Board of Trustees, and external stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to internal charity controls on authorisation for revenue and capital spending.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including timely submission of annual reports, HMRC filings, Pension compliance, Education Funding Agency and adherence to charity accounting standard requirements (SORP)
- Develop and manage financial policies and procedures to ensure robust internal controls are in place

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Finance Officer to join our Finance team at Samaritans. As Finance Officer, you’ll support the Branch Finance function and branch treasurers, in particular leading the annual Central Charity contribution (‘New Branch Contribution’/NBC) process with affiliate branches and handling administrative tasks on branch banking.
You’ll have previous experience working within a Finance/Accounts department, with good Microsoft Excel skills. You’ll be highly organised and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Role
We have 201 branches across the UK and Ireland. The core of this role involves coordinating the annual Central Charity contribution process, reviewing NBC calculations, co-ordinating invoicing and receipts, and escalating NBC queries, with total NBCs amounting to £0.7m-£1.3m a year. You will also be supporting our branch treasurers with banking processes and other administrative matters that are key to managing the finances of our branches.

What the role involves
- Work with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board to set the financial strategy for Safer London.
- Lead the development and delivery of the Finance function, including financial systems planning, risk management and payroll and pension activities.
- Lead on the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget and oversee all financial reporting - including forecasts, management accounts, cashflow statements and annual audit.
- As a member of the SLT, take collaborative corporate responsibility for the leadership of the organisation.

About the role
Sightsavers are currently seeking an experience Finance and Support Services Manager (FSSM) to join the Country Officer Senior Management Team to oversee and supervise the development, co-ordination and management of Sightsavers finance and support services in our Guinea office.
The FSSM will be responsible for a number of specified areas of the overall finance and support services function, through close collaboration with colleagues, partners and others, and will identify areas for growth and improvement.
The FSSM duties include:
- Ensuring financial control and managing risk.
- Ensure the conformity to the organisational Financial Framework.
- Financial Management & Controls.
- Financial Planning and Budgeting.
- Financial Monitoring & Audits.
- Monitor and Retain financial record.

You will have demonstrable charity sector experience, including strong knowledge of Charity SORP, gift aid claims and restricted/unrestricted charity funds. You will have excellent communication skills, able to be a strong team player and contribute to the overall development of the organisation.
