Waterloo Uncovered is the ground-breaking charity that combines world-class archaeology with veteran recovery and wellbeing.  Since 2015 we have been supporting veterans and serving military personnel, through programmes centred around the archaeology of the Waterloo battlefield.  For example, learning archaeological skills through excavation on the battlefield supported by a wellbeing team, bringing the artefacts discovered at Waterloo to beneficiaries in their community, or supporting beneficiaries to explore archaeology and history of conflict through our online programme.  All our programmes link conflicts past to conflict present, as beneficiaries uncover, recover and discover.  

As Administrative Assistant you will be part of our small, dynamic, and passionate team, which is supported by an extensive network of volunteers.  You will work closely with the Chief Executive on all aspects of our administration in support of our operational delivery, communications, fundraising and outreach.

Key responsibilities:

• Programme administration, engaging directly in support of beneficiaries for onboarding, logistics and follow up, answering enquiries and general tasks.

• Customer service, responding to email and telephone enquiries and correspondence.

• Database and spreadsheet management, including managing contacts and suppliers, as well as donor and volunteer data on our CRM system and digital filing.

• Processing financial and accounting requirements, including invoices, payroll, expenses and supplier payments.

• Virtual office support, arranging meetings and team events, providing secretariat to Trustee Board, office contracts, suppliers and administration.

• Researches as requested, complies and summarises information for drafting applications for grants and trusts, managing fundraising pipeline and tracking, reporting schedules and reports.

• Administration of social media accounts, support to drafts of newsletter and impact reports, and other communication initiatives.

• Event administration, including bookings, logistics and support to outreach and event delivery.

What you will need

• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, able to present a professional and positive image for the organisation.

Internal-facing Support:

• Support the Programme Management Team with maintaining the integrity of data within Salesforce.
• Working with the Senior Programme Manager to support the effective programme management and launch of Flourishing Leaders and Teachers.
• Lead on administrative tasks relating to recruitment of Flourishing Leaders and Teachers.
• Event administration for Flourishing Leaders and Teachers, including keeping the calendar up to date, creating online meetings, liaising with staff who will participate, and ensuring Blackboard is updated as needed.
• Support Programme Management Team with preparation of monthly reports, with key updates on recruitment, engagement and quality assurance.

PSTT is a registered charity with a clear vision – we want to see excellent teaching of science in every primary classroom in the UK. Our 2023-28 strategy is building on these strengths to reach more teachers across a more diverse range of schools.

Our Priority Areas initiative is being piloted in 30 schools, and in September 2025 we plan to launch this programme in a further 30 schools. Our Regional Mentors have worked with more than 3,000 schools across England, with exceptionally positive feedback.

Job summary

There are two parts to the Primary Science Mentor role. The majority of the role will focus on strengthening primary science teaching and leadership by leading our second Priority Areas initiative. Through their knowledge of and passion for primary science education, the successful candidate will inspire transformational change in schools taking part in this project. They will build close working relationships with participating schools and create a vibrant and exciting learning community based on mutual support and the sharing of expertise.

The remaining hours in the role will be as a Regional Mentor: joining PSTT’s growing team of primary science experts who provide bespoke support directly to individual schools, multi-academy trusts and other school groupings and organisations. This includes developing and delivering training in a variety of contexts, including online; working individually with Science Leaders; being a leading voice, expert and advocate for primary science (both regionally and nationally); and creating partnerships with other organisations that support science within the region.

Position Overview: 

 As the Global Impact Associate, you play a crucial role in contributing to the organization's overall effectiveness. Your multifaceted role involves maintaining the retrospective knowledge repository, managing data collection instruments, leading story collection efforts, deriving thematic insights, and supporting strategic KLI activities. You are instrumental in operationalizing impact practices, preparing reports, facilitating organizational learning, and conducting research on prioritized themes.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Developing data collection tools and systems and liaising with the respective program teams to manage and upkeep them.

• Conducting data analysis, including (1) qualitative interviews with current and previous programmatic staff, partners, and participants, (2) quantitative data from surveys (3) literature reviews on thought pieces across the broader ecosystem.

• Drafting reports, visuals, and presentations to communicate trends and insights from our programmatic body of work framed for internal and external audiences.

• Managing and updating organisational knowledge repository systems by coordinating with teams across the organization.

• Working in conjunction with the Senior Manager to develop strategic pieces, including annual reports, learning circles, communities of practice, etc.

• Regularly engaging in feedback practices with managers and peers in an effort to upskill and grow within the portfolio 

Skills & Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who has:

• 1-3 years of professional experience in a relevant area, with some understanding of how impact is evaluated in development work (e.g., reporting to funders, managing data, and using systems approaches). 

• Qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills, especially in translating observations into resonant stories and actionable insights

• Ability to cultivate strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and seek timely feedback from their manager

• Strong project management skills  with an ability to anticipate challenges, plan ahead and independently prioritise tasks

• Commitment to learning about and advancing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging within the impact work and broader engagements at CPI

We are recruiting for a Senior Administrative Assistant to join our team to support the delivery of projects, products and services.

The Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) is the professional home for archaeologists in the UK and overseas. We set high standards and benchmark good practice in archaeology to inspire trust in, and respect for, the profession of archaeology. As well as providing training and networks for over 4000 members, we develop and deliver regulated qualifications, accredit undergraduate degree programmes in archaeology and undertake a range of funded projects aimed at supporting the archaeology sector.

We are a fully remote organisation with home-based staff located across the UK. We work collaboratively online using MS Teams, with regular one-to-one, team and project meetings. 

We are looking for a focussed and self-motivated individual to provide administrative support across the professional skills and standards areas of our work. You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills, good attention to detail and be confident communicating with stakeholders in a customer facing role. You will be familiar with a range of IT systems, particularly Office365 and be confident using databases and spreadsheets.

· providing efficient and effective support for meetings
