Addiction Family Support is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting adults affected or bereaved by a loved one's harmful use of alcohol, drugs, or gambling.

The Role: Family Support Worker (Bereavement)

As a Family Support Worker at Addiction Family Support, you will provide crucial emotional and practical assistance to individuals bereaved by the loss of a loved one due to addiction. You will be responsible for delivering a range of services to provide support to people bereaved (and affected) by someone else’s harmful use of alcohol, drugs or gambling. Through both individual and group support, you will offer a compassionate and understanding presence, helping people navigate grief and loss in a safe and supportive environment.

Our service delivery takes place via several methods, including taking calls on our telephone Helpline, responding to emails through our email service and delivering the 5-Step Method intervention to individuals, couples and groups and facilitating group support via an online platform.

Working patterns are flexible to allow our services to run from 9am and 9pm 7 days a week. You may be expected to work on a rota basis, covering shifts during this period.

We would hope to be able to offer more hours per week in time when funding allows it.

You will need to be confident in your ability to provide support via a variety of remote and digital platforms, being able to respond to immediate requests for support. You will be an active and involved member of our team and contribute to all aspects of our work to help us achieve our strategic goals and work towards achieving our vision.

Responsibilities:

• Offer empathetic and non-judgmental emotional support to those affected by the bereavement of a loved one due to addiction (via a Helpline and adapted 5-Step Method).
• Provide information, literature, and resources to help individuals and groups manage grief and cope with their situations.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate bereavement support group meetings, creating a safe space for participants to share their experiences and provide mutual support.
• Respond to inquiries and offer structured emotional support through helplines or support groups, following guidelines and safeguarding practices.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR and the charity’s policies.
• Ensure safeguarding concerns are addressed promptly and signpost individuals to additional services where appropriate.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Director of Income Generation to join our Senior Leadership Team on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. Chief Executive Officer

About the role: 

This is a crucial position as it will be your responsibility to ensure the growth of the charity, enabling us to support even more children and their families in Darfur, Sudan. You will be an experienced and highly motivated leader overseeing the overall development of the charity, ensuring its continued success in its next phase of the charity’s growth. You will oversee the charity’s budget to ensure the long-term financial sustainability and be responsible for the charity’s fundraising, grants, individuals and our events. You will lead a passionate and dedicated team including working with our volunteers, both in the UK and in the USA and Australia. You will also play a key role in building relationships with donors, potential donors, corporates and other stakeholders. 

You will work closely with the Country Director (currently our Founder) for Darfur and oversee projects and assist recruitment in Sudan as soon as it is safe to do so. At present our Sudan staff are working from outside the country as Darfur faces extreme violence. Projects within Darfur are implemented by the Steering Committee, who are volunteer village leaders working with the charity since 2010.

Your main duties will include:

• Provide vision and leadership for the charity setting the overall vision and strategic direction, ensuring alignment with its mission and values.

• Develop and implement a strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Trustees.

• Act as the public face of the charity, undertaking a range of speaking opportunities and acting as a media spokesperson.

• Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring the effectiveness and efficient use of charity resources.

• Oversee budgeting and financial planning – manage the charity’s finances, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.

• Build relationships with celebrities, Patrons and key Stakeholders.

• Ensure the charity is compliant with legal, regulatory and financial requirements.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will provide key administrative support to teams across one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Personal Wellbeing services in Wales. This will involve monitoring and managing the receipt of referrals from Probation through the Customer Approved System (CAS) ensuring they are successfully assigned to Personal Wellbeing Coaches, plus managing the CAS to ensure all inputting is accurate and within agreed timescales.

• A sound knowledge of the barriers faced by people with complex and multiple needs as well as relevant specialist support services.

Our charity, the Jon Egging Trust, is looking for a highly motivated individual with experience of working with young people, to plan and deliver inspiring teamwork, leadership and employability programmes in North Wales. The role involves liaising with school staff, local partners (including the Military and local businesses) and volunteers to ensure programmes meet the needs of our young people and is supported by the Regional Manager, North Wales.

The successful candidate will be based from home with a requirement to travel to partner schools and business sites in and around Anglesey, Bangor and occasionally along the A55 corridor. Fuel expenses are paid and travel time is included as part of working hours. Working with secondary schools to provide early support programmes, core delivery time is usually within the school working day and during school terms only. All other working hours can be managed with flexibility by the post holder to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed as required.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a governance professional to join the Society as a Senior Governance Officer. Reporting to the Head of Legal & Governance & Company Secretary, you will be part of the Finance and Assurance directorate. 
The role focuses on delivering the best governance service primarily to our Executive Leadership Team, providing dedicated support to their meetings, and providing support to selected Trustee committee meetings. This role would suit a candidate who has strong governance experience, an eye for detail, an abundance of initiative and a commitment to achieving best governance standards.
You’ll work closely with our Chief Executive and Head of Legal and Governance to proactively plan the Executive Leadership Team meetings. You’ll work with the rest of the governance team to ensure that matters flow through the Society’s governance structures to the Board of Trustees in a timely and effective manner. 
The role is fast-paced, and you’ll be liaising with key senior staff across the Society to plan governance business. You’ll be an experienced governance professional who will ensure that the Executive Leadership Team’s meetings focus on the right issues to enable them to make the right decision at the right time. You’ll be a key point of contact across the organisation for Executive Leadership Team governance. You’ll have experience working in a large organisation and understanding how decisions are made and flow through an organisation’s decision-making points.
While an Executive Assistant oversees the Chief Executive’s schedule and personal arrangements, as a Senior Governance Officer you will be responsible for overseeing Executive Leadership Team meeting arrangements. It’s crucial that you are a team player to ensure this work seamlessly. Demonstrating exceptional decision-making skills will be crucial, as on occasions, you may be responsible for making decisions on behalf of the Chief Executive relating to Executive Leadership Team agendas to ensure optimal use of their time.
The role is home-based, although there will be a requirement to attend meetings in person, so you must hold a current UK passport and reside in the UK. Our meetings are held roughly every fortnight in our London office, although they may be held at other offices around the country and may be held more frequently. Where meetings are in person, you will be required to attend those meetings in person.

Mission Without Borders (MWBI) is an international network of Christians who journey with the poor and marginalized, bringing practical and spiritual support with hope of a better future, enabling and encouraging people to lift themselves out of poverty, always sharing the hope found in Jesus Christ. We serve people without regard to their religion or ethnic background.

Mission Without Borders International leads and co-ordinates the work of six countries in Eastern Europe where we conduct our program work and twelve countries where we raise support for these programs and associated MWBI costs. An international executive team (IET) supports this work in terms of program maintenance and development, fundraising, communications, finance, risk management and compliance and it and digital.

Purpose of role

The overarching governing body of the Mission is the Board of Mission Without Borders International. The International Board are seeking a senior International Fundraising Director who will help drive our fundraising strategy by strengthening and diversifying our fundraising sources. The Mission requires an experienced leader with a proven track record in international fundraising who will inspire our international fundraising teams to differentiate and grow income as we enter this new phase of strategic growth.

The International Fundraising Director will provide leadership, oversight and guidance to the Mission’s National Fundraising Directors. They will: implement and manage the diversification of income, including major donor income and field sourced income; work closely with the digital team in fundraising and communication; engage with field countries on beneficiary management and sponsor engagement; lead on impact reporting and work with other members of IET to lead the executive and operational elements of the Mission.

A strong communicator and strategic thinker with practical fundraising experience, they will be an experienced leader and innovative thinker focused on the development of a team and capable of working well with the existing team. They will have significant practical experience of major donors, trusts and foundations, institutional, and corporate fundraising together with a deep understanding of individual fundraising through sponsorship and appeals.

Primary responsibilities

Donor development and outreach

· To provide strategic direction, leadership and drive for fundraising in all new development areas across the Mission. They will have direct responsibility for raising funds at the international level with a specific focus on driving forward major donors, trusts and institutions income as this is currently an underdeveloped source of income for the Mission. They will also lead the development of field sourced fundraising.

· Deliver strategic plans for driving income growth, diversifying income sources and improving donor engagement by incorporating traditional and digital fundraising methods.

· Lead the International Fundraising Team to deliver strategic objectives across all fundraising channels, support National Fundraising Directors, create a collaborative fundraising culture across the organization internationally, and monitor fundraising metrics to deliver growth and efficiency.

· Create a donor-centric fundraising culture, implementing systems and reporting to deliver effective supporter journeys across all disciplines.

· Lead in understanding fundraising trends and working with National Fundraising Directors to improve agility in response to these trends and detailed data analysis of internal trends.

· Drive consistency in restricted and unrestricted giving reporting.

Leadership and management

· Work with the International Executive Team to drive the Mission’s international strategy.

· Collaborate with and coach the National Fundraising Directors to meet strategic goals.

· Nurture team members in excellence in operational tasks as well as personal development, ensuring an engaged and fulfilled team.

Introduction

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis (CF). We fund vital research, improve care, speak out and race towards effective treatments for all. We won’t stop until everyone with cystic fibrosis can live without limits.  Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system.  It affects more than 11,000 people in the UK.

In recent years, improvements in the treatments for CF have transformed the symptoms and quality of life experienced by many, but not all of the community.  The enormous leap forward that has been made is both wonderful and challenging and brings new support needs.

With better health, more people with CF now want to plan careers, but need to balance this with management of their condition.  Others still need support with barriers to work or help to navigate their rights at work when they need to focus on their health.  This led us to create Work Forwards, a dedicated programme of career, work and employment support for the CF community.

Background about the Work Forwards Programme

Building on the foundations of our existing financial and welfare support, our Work Forwards employment programme aims to give people with CF the confidence and skills to move towards secure, fulfilling employment which fits around their health needs.

Having secured three-year funding from the National Lottery Community Fund in autumn 2022, since then the programme has been helping people affected by CF with work, employment and careers. The project’s ultimate aim is to ensure they have the finances and resources to stay as well as possible and live a long, fulfilling life.

The project employs two staff and sits within our wider support service team lead by the Head of Support and Programmes. There are a number of key deliverables for the project including one-to-one support and guidance, online sessions, information resources, and a case study library. Outcome measures are focused on improing skills and confidence and ensuring people affected by CF can navigate barriers to work and employment.

Project Brief

We are now looking to evaluate the programme and seeking a freelance/consultant with expertise in evaluating programmes.

Working closely with Cystic Fibrosis Trust throughout, the consultant will design, implement and deliver an evaluation to enable us to monitor and assess to what extent the project is achieving the programme aims and make recommendations for future delivery.

The overall aim of this work is to compile and provide us with a comprehensive, well-presented, and easy-to-read independent report to demonstrate to what extent we have met the outcomes intended throughout this project, as described in the funding proposal.

The deadline for when we need this report completed is July 2025 and which we can then submit to the National Lottery Community Fund and use this to inform the development of future funding bids. 

Key Deliverables

· Quickly develop a deep understanding of our project and anticipated project outcomes.

· Work with us to quickly develop the ways in which we will evaluate how we have achieved the project outcomes, through qualitative and quantitative data collection.

· Take lead responsibility for ensuring all research data and information is collected as required, to inform the development of a comprehensive report.

· Liaise with us throughout the process to ensure the report is developed to the standard we expect.

· By July 2025, provide us with an excellent final report which tells the story of the delivery of our project, the challenges, learnings and how we have met the project outcomes.

· Suggest a suitable methodology, within timeframe and budget, but we would expect it to include;

1. - Interviews with beneficiaries who have been involved in the programme.
2. - A review of key documents and resources produced through the programme.
3. - Interviews/focus groups with people affected by CF to identify any future needs around work and employment not covered by the programme.
4. - Review and compilation of all impact and evaluation data collected through the programme.
5. - Review of the successes and challenges of the programme so far, to support us to learn from these and to suggest where they may be gaps in delivery/further opportunities to help us shape our possible future work in this area.

 

Indicative Budget

There is budget available to deliver this project and this is up to a maximum of £6,000. This must cover all costs to complete this work, including consultant fees, and any materials and resources needed to undertake the research and data-gathering element of the project.

It is accepted that it may be the responsibility of some other providers (including ourselves) to collect and provide some of the data required.

Role Requirements

The successful person will:

· Be a suitably experienced project consultant, researcher and report-writer.

· Have knowledge of delivery of funded programmes within a charity, particularly those funded by NLCF.

· Ideally understand work and employment programmes in a charity environment.

· Ideally have lived experience of cystic fibrosis – this will be a distinct advantage.

We are recruiting for an exciting new role:

• Participation and Networks Coordinator. 
• 28 hours per week at £15.00 an hour (Actual salary £21,840 -FTE £27,300).
• Fully remote with occasional prearranged in person meetings

This job is essentially about facilitating great conversations and then making sure that the learning from those conversations has real life impact. It’s a special role and will influence everything we do as an organisation - so we are keen to have someone really fantastic in it. Every day will be different in this role but you will be responsible for:

• Growing and managing our network groups, including those for researchers, universities, professionals, support groups, PDAers themselves & family members.
• Noticing themes that emerge, and bringing together people from across networks to take action. This will include co- producing research, written information, video/podcasts and convening groups who are trying to influence change.
• Encouraging people in networks to understand and use their power and influence, resulting in more and better research about PDA, new ways to share best practice, and a better understanding of PDA generally.
• Managing and supporting change projects alongside people in networks.

To do this role, you’ll need to understand PDA, and be an enthusiastic, inclusive and engaging facilitator. You’ll need to be self- organised, trustworthy and good with deadlines. Excellent writing skills, the ability to adjust your communication style to meet the needs of your audience, as well as the ability to use or quickly learn to use different software are also essential. In addition you will have the skills to be able to credibly and effectively design and push forward projects involving everyone we work with, treating everybody with respect.
