The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional and visionary Chief Executive Officer to lead Pathfinders Neuromuscular Alliance. The CEO will be the public face of the organisation, building strong relationships with stakeholders, advocating for the voice of adults with muscle-weakening conditions and driving the organisation’s strategic vision.
This is a unique leadership opportunity for someone with lived experience of muscle-weakening conditions to shape the future of a dynamic and impactful organisation. You will ensure the charity’s sustainability, provide operational oversight and work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees, staff and beneficiaries to meet the priorities of our community.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver and implement the strategic vision of the organisation.

Represent Pathfinders as its public face, advocating for the needs and voices of adults with muscle-weakening conditions in public, media, and campaign spaces.

Build partnerships and networks across sectors, fostering collaboration to support our mission.

Work with trustees to oversee governance, ensure statutory compliance and risk management - building a culture of open communication with the trustees.

Build teamwork and co-operation within the Charities Management Team

Manage an appropriate risk management policy and ensure all policies are relevant and up to date.

Oversee fundraising initiatives to secure sustainable income, working across diverse funding streams.

Manage organisational finances, including budget preparation, financial oversight, and reporting to the Board and funding bodies.

Be responsible for budgeting and oversee payroll, HR and contracts.

Be able to manage projects and add extra project delivery capacity when needed.

Foster a positive and inclusive culture among staff and volunteers, ensuring alignment with Pathfinders’ mission and values.
Person Specification
Essential Skills and Experience:

Lived experience of muscle-weakening conditions
-
CEO experience, or equivalent within a large organisation
-
Experience of successfully working with Boards in order to ensure the current and future success of the organisation

Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, reporting and risk assessment.

Experience in fundraising, securing income from a range of sources (e.g., trusts, corporate sponsors, and community support).

Knowledge of charity governance, safeguarding, data protection and compliance requirements.

Excellent communication skills, with experience of building relationships with stakeholders and engaging with diverse audiences.

Understanding of human resources and personnel management.

We are seeking someone with a keen eye for detail and who has the ability to work on their own initiative as part of a remote team. A willingness to learn, get on with the job, to question and to challenge will be essential.
As the Governance and Reporting Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in the relationship with a key stakeholder and our largest funder, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), ensuring the good governance and excellent reporting of progress against this Grant. You’ll be a great communicator, with the ability to influence, negotiate and problem solve.
Key Responsibilities:
You’ll provide overall coordination of MHCLG grant governance and reporting, ensuring all areas delivering under the terms of the grant are aware of reporting deadlines, providing them with the necessary support and advice in preparing progress reports.
Supporting the production of concise, relevant and timely updates and responses for our Senior Leadership Team.
Delivering high quality reports by ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail is applied.
Supporting the Governance Team in ensuring high standards of governance and reporting in all activities.
Providing general administrative support to the overall grant governance process and to the Governance Manager including but not limited to checking stakeholder and key personnel availability for meetings, producing accurate minutes, records and action logs arising, coordinating company reporting to meet deadlines and reviewing documents for tone of voice, uniformity, conformity and completeness.
Building and maintaining good working relationships with key stakeholders.
Supporting continuous improvement of the reporting across the organisation by working with all areas of the organisation to improve the presentation, accuracy and consistency of data and reporting.
Undertaking such other tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Governance Manager.

Youth Liaison Officer – North Wales (Anglesey / Bangor area)
Location: Homebased with travel within North Wales
Salary: £18,731 pro-rata including holiday pay, based on a working pattern of 30hrs/week across 4 or 5 days, and 39 weeks/year. £26,700 FTE

Our charity, the Jon Egging Trust, is looking for a highly motivated individual with experience of working with young people, to plan and deliver inspiring teamwork, leadership and employability programmes in North Wales. The role involves liaising with school staff, local partners (including the Military and local businesses) and volunteers to ensure programmes meet the needs of our young people and is supported by the Regional Manager, North Wales.
The successful candidate will be based from home with a requirement to travel to partner schools and business sites in and around Anglesey, Bangor and occasionally along the A55 corridor. Fuel expenses are paid and travel time is included as part of working hours. Working with secondary schools to provide early support programmes, core delivery time is usually within the school working day and during school terms only. All other working hours can be managed with flexibility by the post holder to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed as required.

On 20th August 2011, Flt Lt Jon Egging lost his life whilst completing a display at the Bournemouth Air Festival. He was coming to the end of his first year with the world-famous Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, flying in the position of Red 4.
