West London Centre for Counselling is a well-established and highly respected charity providing psychological counselling to primary care. The charity is now looking for an experienced Director to lead the strategic and operational management of the Centre and its staff. The position involves developing business plans and procedures required for the effective running of the Centre and the meeting of its objectives.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of running a charity in the healthcare sector, of collaborating with statutory bodies and raising funds for charitable purposes. The charity employs 37 staff and has an operating budget of circa £1m.

Salary will be in the region of £60-65,000 pro rata depending on experience. Part-time and hybrid working negotiable, although please note that the Director will be expected to work from the charity's offices in Hammersmith at least 2-3 days per week.

People & Culture

• Lead the review and development of HR policies and processes to ensure that they embody People’s Economy’s values, and support effective working and staff wellbeing, drawing in external expertise as necessary.

• Lead the development and implementation of recruitment processes for staff vacancies, ensuring compliance with People’s Economy’s recruitment policy and employment law.

• Lead the implementation of formal HR processes e.g. disciplinary processes, contract variations, and act as the key point of contact with People’s Economy’s external HR advisers. 

• Contribute to the development of organisational culture and values and ensure that they are embedded, promoted and enacted throughout the organisation.

Operations

Finance

• Lead People’s Economy’s financial management and control, including:

  • Manage People’s Economy’s book-keeping and payroll providers to ensure that high quality records of income and expenditure are maintained and the smooth operation of supplier payments, invoicing, payroll and pensions contributions.

  • Oversee the timely production of regular financial reporting including management accounts, cash forecasting and quarterly reporting to the Board. Scrutinise regular finance reports and work to resolve any issues identified. 

  • Liaise with People’s Economy’s accountant and manage the annual process of independent examination and producing year-end reports and accounts.

• Lead on financial planning, including the preparation of an annual organisational budget and lead on updating budget information throughout the year.

• Create systems and processes to support staff to develop and manage budgets for the programmes and projects that they are leading.

• With support from the Executive Director, lead the development of organisational business plans and monitoring of progress against them, including reporting on progress to the Trustee Board.

• Lead on maintaining robust and up-to-date information about the organisation’s income pipeline. 

• Lead on fundraising administration:

  • Track progress against income targets ensuring information is kept up to date and regularly updating the Executive Director on the position.

Governance and Legal

• Lead on compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements including data protection, employment law, health and safety, and charity law.

Background to School Food Matters

School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.

Job Purpose

· To manage an exciting, new programme in Southwark implementing a whole school approach (WSA) to food

· To promote, develop and deliver the programme across nurseries, primaries, secondaries and SEN schools in Southwark

· To ensure that the programme is delivered on time and on budget

Key Tasks include:

• Onboard and line-manage a Project Officer and volunteers to support delivery, providing training as required
• Conduct desk research to group schools and nurseries using a RAG rating, based on level of support required to achieve a WSA to food
• Create a detailed project plan for delivery
• Support with the development of resources and training packages for schools
• Work with an early years’ consultant to tailor resources and training to nursery settings

· Recruit schools to take part in the programme

Since 2018, Connect: North Korea (CNK) has grown from a small community start-up into an effective and impactful organisation with an annual income of approaching £500,000, mainly through grants from Trusts and Foundations. We now want to develop our individual giving programme to build our unrestricted income and secure our long term growth.

As our new Head of Individual Giving, you will be responsible for growing our income from our individual and corporate base to help us reach more vulnerable members of our community. You will lead on  individual fundraising relationships and initiatives, including appeals, fundraising campaigns, and all direct marketing activities and communications. You will position us in our supporters’ minds and encourage them to actively support CNK in 2025 and beyond.

Position: Head of Individual Giving 

Responsible to: CEO

Based at: Our offices in New Malden KT3 with some remote/home working.  We will be as flexible as possible to accommodate the right candidate.

Annual Corporate and Individual Giving Programmes:

• Develop and deliver CNK corporate and individual giving fundraising programme of events, campaigns and appeals to raise £100,000 in 2025. 

• Work closely with CEO and CNK team members to craft information into compelling copy, asks, supporter updates, social media content and personalised campaign appeals. 

• Plan and deliver low and mid level individual giving campaigns to cultivate new donors, convert existing supporters from once off donations to regular givers and inspire donors to increase their current support.

• Design and deliver our annual major donor giving programme. Cultivate, communicate and inspire new major donors to join us with the aim of increasing our current major donor pool by 10%. Steward current donors, keep in touch, craft compelling asks to support their progression towards more frequent or higher-value donations.

• Report monthly to the CEO on the success of campaigns and programming, income raised, number of new supporters/followers, conversion rates, offering insight on ROI, learnings and how we will incorporate this learning to improve how we do things in future. 

Fundraising compliance:

• Save all profiles, donations, giving history, gift aid agreements, correspondence, and communications with supporters on CNK CRM database. Uphold GDPR and comply with fundraising best practice.

US Individual Giving Programme:

• Contribute towards developing a new US individual giving portfolio through prospect research and crafting compelling fundraising asks.

Staff & Volunteer Management:

• Create and manage a volunteer fundraising programme to grow individual giving through community events, social media and awareness raising. 

The role has no direct line reports at present but there may be in future, budget permitting

Essential skills and experience:

You will have at least five, ideally eight, years experience of:

• individual giving fundraising for a small charity, with a track record of developing and delivering successful individual giving campaigns that have generated 5 figure sums 

• building a supporter base - both amongst low value, but also mid level and major donors

• gathering information, case studies, data and finances, distilling and crafting high quality, well articulated compelling funding asks

• growing charity brand and positioning, thorough consistent approach, campaigns, asks,use of language and artwork

• digital marketing including social media, email marketing, and website content management

• designing tools, inputting data and keeping CRM software updated, using data analytics to report on donor journey and drive fundraising decisions

• relevant fundraising regulations and best practices, including GDPR compliance.

The Advance Specialist Prison & Probation Advocate will support women within the prison setting, provide pre-release support, focused on Accommodation, Finance, debt & benefits, Family & significant others and Social inclusion including ‘through the gate’ support.

This exciting new role will be based in HMP Bronzefield and will support in developing referral pathways for women and work in partnership with different departments and services within the prison as well as those in the community. You will co-design an action plan with women accessing support, enabling you to support them to address their accommodation, finance, debt and benefits and health needs and any risks in relation to the interventions identified, as they prepare for release. The role will involve a combination of casework-based approach with delivery of programmes and courses, along with a signposting and advice service for the women in custody.

You will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working with women in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally working with prisoners and/or their families.

You will build strong relationships with the Pre Release teams to ensure clients are able to maintain or access suitable accommodation, finance, benefits and debt, family and social inclusion support including negotiating terms on behalf of the women. Ensure that interventions are responsive to and meet the needs of women from diverse and minoritised backgrounds. This, together with referrals to wider partner organisations in the community, will ensure additional support needs are addressed post-release and continuity of support exists.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Advance Specialist Prison & Probation Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

Knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system obtained through academic study, experience of working in the criminal justice system (or closely associated social system).

The ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.

You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.

Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines

You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

The Director is a member of the Senior Leadership Team of MSI and is a member of the Technical Services Team. This role reports to the VP & Director of the Technical Services Department. There is a high level of interaction with MSI’s Executive Team, Regional Directors, Medical team and country teams. It is a full-time role, based out of London or core countries where MSI has an operating entity, with possibility of remote work for exceptional candidates.  This role will require extensive travel to MSI Country Programmes in Africa and Asia.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to drive our mission forward. We are looking for:

• Clinic/maternity healthcare management specialist who excels in commercial financial acumen, optimising centre efficiency; appreciates and upholds clinical governance; and cares deeply about client experience. You will bring a strong skillset that spans these areas and your expertise should seamlessly blend patient-centric care with cutting-edge digital solutions.  This expertise has ideally been developed by running a clinic or maternity facility.
• Strong expertise in health financing models for revenue: able to analyse and interpret external partners financial statements and reports; possessing an in-depth understanding of healthcare delivery systems and payment models; familiarity with health insurance products and reimbursement mechanisms; and awareness of current trends and innovations in private healthcare financing.
• Strategic acumen: We're seeking a strategic thinker who can translate complex data into actionable insights. You should be adept at identifying unmet consumer needs and market gaps. Your ability to anticipate future scenarios and develop innovative responses to a rapidly changing private sector is key.
• Leadership: The role requires exceptional leadership skills, particularly in "boundary spanning" – the ability to inspire and facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration. You should be comfortable working across cultures and at all levels of organizations, (including the Executive Team at MSI), building trust and fostering collaboration among team members, partners, and decision-makers. You should possess a track record in achieving ambitious goals at a senior level.
• Communication: Your communication skills should be excellent, allowing you to present complex ideas with clarity and confidence in various settings, from international meetings to practical technical workshops. We are looking for someone who can tell compelling data-driven stories, translating technical information for both expert and non-expert audiences.
• Problem solving and analytical thinking: You should bring highly developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills to the table. We need someone who can approach complex issues methodically, identifying patterns and trends in information, and proposing practical, innovative solutions. Experience in developing new models to enhance performance will be essential.

Location: London Support Office (hybrid working - 2 office days per week) or where any MSI country programme operates.

Full-time: 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday (For UK based team members).

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: £66,200 – £86,700 per annum for UK based candidates. Discretionary bonus + benefits. For all other locations, the salary will be banded within the national context.

Helping the team to achieve to our mutually developed strategic plan for growth in these key areas: service uptake, service provision, quality and resourcing.  While also raising the profile of Maypole Project Model of support.

Ensuring standardised ways of recording data and disseminating the impact of our services in communications to a range of stakeholders including for contracts/grants as well as for key supporters and internally the Board and staff team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic HR and Office Administrator with great people skills to be a part of our core Head Office team.

The successful candidate will be willing to get involved in all aspects of our work and thrive in a role engaging with staff all over the country and supporting great internal communications. 

Working closely with our CEO and Senior Management Team, a key part of the role is ensuring that we have effective organisational governance, contracting and HR systems in place. You will also support all aspects of HR, working with our HR Advisor to support recruitment processes, staff checks, induction, and development for our staff team.

The successful applicant will have excellent people skills, the ability to develop and maintain administrative organisational systems, and be happy getting involved in a range of different work. Experience of the charity sector, and experience of supporting HR, would be an asset but are not essential. 

Working days are flexible but likely to require Wednesdays.

You’ll be supported by a collaborative team, including senior leadership and the Chair of Trustees, and will have key strategic and operational input into the success of our fundraising, the growth of the team, and the broader impact of our charity.

QuarterFive are delighted to be partnering with The Orpheus Centre, which supports young disabled adults to live and work as independently as they are able. They do this through developing their confidence and independent living skills, using arts-based, bespoke learning, work experience and supported living programmes delivered from their base in Surrey. All of their learners are learning disabled and some are also physically disabled.

The Orpheus Centre is located at a beautiful converted farm that provides teaching and performance spaces and self-contained accommodation. However, their success in enabling these young people to thrive means that they are over subscribed every year and have outgrown the current facilities.

The capital appeal will convert a building next to the Centre to allow for more learners to enrol, in particular more learners with more complex needs. Currently, the quiet phase is projected for 2024-2027, with the build phase being projected for 2027-2029.

The Head of Capital Appeal will sit on the SMT, reporting to the CEO, and be responsible for leading a small team of fundraisers also dedicated to raising funds for the build. While there will be a team to support, the Head of Capital Appeal will spend most of their time personally fundraising as well. There are existing opportunities, including a well-connected President (also the Founder), a Capital Appeal Committee which will be set up, and an existing pool of donors. A focus on new business, however, will also be crucial for the success of the project.

As Head of Capital Appeal, you will: 

• Develop, implement and monitor the private and public phases of the capital appeal strategy to enable the Orpheus Centre to meet the appeal target
• Establish a high performing capital appeal committee of volunteers to cultivate and steward potential significant donors
• Deliver target income from a range of sources, primarily major donors, trusts and foundations and statutory sources, but not discounting other viable income streams
• Personally secure significant major gifts for the capital project
• Design, recruit and lead a team of fundraisers to support on fundraising for the capital project
• Research and identify potential funders for the capital project
• Work closely with the build project team, to ensure clear communication between the funding and the building of the project
• Provide timely reports for Senior Management Team and Trustees to facilitate effective cash flow management and decision making

Ideal skills and experience:

• Significant experience in a senior high value fundraising role
• Demonstrable experience of securing 5- and 6-figure major gifts
• Extensive track record in working with trusts, major donors and statutory funders
• Experience of line managing teams of fundraisers
• Ability to adapt to different audiences, including donors, senior volunteers, team members, learners and all colleagues in the wider organisation
• Experience in managing senior level volunteers and fundraising committees
• Understanding of disability language and issues
• Ability to demonstrate an appreciation of the arts
