Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join the Stroke Recovery Services, based in the Morecambe Bay area. 

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

Position: S11246 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Morecambe Bay. However, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (will include team meetings, other work related meetings and home visits)

Hours: Part-time, 28 hours per week

Salary: Circa £21,391 per annum

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months. Our services are contracted, we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2028.

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes.

The Stroke Support Coordinator will:

• Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.

• Provide personalised information, advice and support.

• Support stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes to live well after stroke.

• Work collaboratively with NHS colleagues and other areas of the community to make a difference in the lives of people affected by stroke.

About You

You will:

• Have a background in a caring and/or charity profession supporting people with disabilities.

• Be able to demonstrate previous experience of working collaboratively with other organisations to achieve joint ambitions. 

• Have experience of working with people who may have additional communication support needs.

• Have the ability to use basic Microsoft system.

This role requires the post holder to travel across the locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

About the opportunity:

The Tutor Communications Officer will work closely with the Communications and Media Manager to support all aspects of stakeholder communications and engagement at Action Tutoring. The role will require you to develop engaging and motivational content when communicating with our volunteer tutor network, schools and other stakeholders.

The Tutor Communications Officer will develop their data management and analytical skills, when evaluating the impact of communications and maintaining subscriber data. They will also develop detailed knowledge of our e-communications software (Campaign Monitor) to create precise and engaging email campaigns with accurate segmentation of recipients. 

Comprehensive induction and training will be provided. Action Tutoring is committed to providing development opportunities for its staff and, as a growing charity, there are plenty of opportunities to take on new areas of responsibility. 

Key responsibilities of the role: 

• Work with Communications and Engagement teams to create impactful communications that recruit new tutors, re-engage lapsed volunteers, and convert former tutors into long-term charity supporters.
• Maintain and analyse data across our e-communications platforms (ValueText, Campaign Monitor) and our volunteer database (Salesforce) to optimize audience targeting and engagement, while ensuring GDPR compliance and data cleanliness.
• Respond to tutors’ enquiries and feedback complaints as part of managing the communications’ team inbox, whilst supporting the wider team to do the same.
• Work with the Communications and Media Manager and other communications officer to produce interesting and relevant pupil and tutor case studies throughout the year. Collaborate with our Programme Team and your MarComms colleagues to source appropriate case studies from our partner schools and volunteer network.

We are looking for a hands-on, all-round marketing and communications professional who will be supported by and work closely with a Strategic Communications Consultant to help manage our social media channels, roll-out campaigns, and progress sustainable, low-budget marketing and communications approaches. A large part of the role will include being responsible for maintaining our existing social media channels, including developing content ideas from start to fruition, and organic posting across Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn.

Requirements

• Knowledge of best practice for social media, comfortable working closely with an animator / video editor with minimal supervision, with evidence of publishing on social media for a business or charitable organisation
• Able to write for a variety of channels including social media, email, web with minimal supervision
• Experience of optimising posts for different audiences and platforms
• Experience of using Canva, Adobe or other graphic design and editing software

An exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of a growing adult literacy charity as it expands across London

One in 20 adults in the UK has never learnt to read at all, but it is never too late to learn. Read Easy UK is a volunteer organisation that delivers one-to-one reading coaching to adults aged from 18-88 through a network of affiliated, locally run volunteer groups.  

With its free, flexible, confidential approach, Read Easy encourages many people who are too embarrassed to join a class to come forward for one-to-one support. Each new reader is provided with their own personal Reading Coach, so that they can learn in private and at their own pace. Learning to read transforms their lives in many other ways as well, including enabling them to support their children’s and grandchildren’s reading, and so transfers the benefits to the next generation.

There are currently 80 affiliated Read Easy groups across England, together involving more than a thousand volunteers. Read Easy UK is the registered charity and umbrella organisation which supports this network of affiliated volunteer groups and provides the structure, training and support to enable volunteers to establish groups in new areas.

As our London Regional Adviser, your aim would be to find volunteers to ‘pioneer’ four new groups in London, and then provide them and our 15 existing groups in the city, with high-quality support. Your support will ensure that they provide the same for their volunteers and new Readers. From meeting with Team Leaders to provide one to one support, to delivering presentations and training for small groups of volunteers, this is a dynamic and rewarding role.

This is a part-time (18 hours per week) home-based post requiring flexibility, some early evening working and occasional travel to visit groups.

The successful candidate will have been employed to work with volunteers for at least two years; have strong people management and interpersonal skills; excellent communication skills; and the confidence to run meetings and deliver presentations.

It’s a special role and will influence everything we do as an organisation - so we are keen to have someone really fantastic in it. • Noticing themes that emerge, and bringing together people from across networks to take action. This will include co- producing research, written information, video/podcasts and convening groups who are trying to influence change.

Strategy

Lead the sustainable growth of MOVE Against Cancer, ensuring that the organisation adapts to the evolving landscape of cancer support and related sectors. Work with the Board to regularly review and refine the organisation’s strategy, ensuring it remains responsive to external changes and opportunities.

HR, Compliance & Infrastructure Management

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements, including health and safety, Charity Commission guidance, safeguarding, and fundraising regulations. Oversee data protection policies, ensuring that MOVE Against Cancer meets all General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and data privacy laws. Develop and review organisational policies and procedures at appropriate intervals to ensure best practices and compliance with regulations. Establish a continuous improvement framework, gathering feedback and data to guide the organisation’s strategic direction and operational excellence. Coordinate with senior leadership to ensure that all services meet or exceed the expectations of funders, partners, and beneficiaries.

Qualifications & Experience

Significant experience in growing and leading a charitable (or similar) organisation, with a proven track record of success in expanding reach and impact. Previous experience leading a charitable (or similar) organisation, including strategic planning, governance, and financial management. Demonstrated experience in leading and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including managing major donor relationships, grants, corporate partnerships, and community fundraising campaigns. In-depth knowledge and experience of cancer support services and the challenges faced by people living with and beyond cancer, including their families. Strong track record of working collaboratively with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to achieve shared goals. Excellent communication, public speaking, and relationshipbuilding skills, with the ability to engage a variety of stakeholders including funders, healthcare professionals, and the public.

About The Role
Home-Start UK is seeking an impressive, values-based leader to provide strategic oversight of organisational operations, performance, and delivery and to provide effective leadership and support to Infrastructure functions – Finance and Governance, People, and IT and Facilities.

The Operations Manager will work closely with the Managing Director to ensure the charity operates effectively. The Operations Manager will lead on the development of policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance, and robust management processes.

The Operations Manager will add to the staff team by bringing a skillset that is grounded in administration processes, excellent IT competence, and a numerate, systemising and detail-orientated mindset.

Drive Partnership DAPO Triage IDVA

Location: Home working. The posts are remote but will be delivering in the pilot sites of London, Manchester, Cleveland and North Wales. There is the potential this could include further pilot sites at a later date. This will be discussed further at interview, and if you are successful at interview.

Travel Requirements: You will be required to travel when the role requires it. Expenses for travel will be provided for specific work-related travel, and will be clearly articulated in interview, and employment contracts.

Responsible to: DAPO Triage Team Leader 

Salary: Point 31-34 £34,016 to £36,754 (a London Allowance will be applied

To employees who live in London, Plus 6% employers pension which is subject to an additional minimum contribution of 2% by the employee)

We are pleased to offer a starting salary at the beginning point of the salary band. This position offers opportunities for salary increases based on performance and tenure.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week, with funding until 2026 and

with a desire to extend this, based on securing additional funding.

About the role:

The Triage IDVA will work as part of the Triage Team in their pilot area, reporting to the Triage Team Leader and working alongside the Triage Worker. They will be responsible for supporting and presenting the voice of the victims and their children in cases where the perpetrator has been referred to the team for an assessment of suitability for a Positive Requirement during an application for a DAPO.

They will be responsible for attempting to contact the victims to carry out the relevant safety checks, risk assessments and provide advocacy during the assessment stage and make onward referrals for further support for the victim. They will capture the voice of the victim as part of the overall assessment for a positive requirement and feed their views and any relevant information about risk or need into the overall recommendation. The IDVA’s work and expertise will ensure that the risks and needs for both the Perpetrator and Victims/families are considered so that a co-ordinated and individual intervention plan can be created when appropriate and safe to apply as part of the DAPO.

About you:

The post holder will have a demonstrable track record as an accredited IDVA with experience of working complex cases within a multi-agency environment and have been part of implanting multi-agency plans to reduce risk and harm to victims and families who have suffered Domestic Abuse.
