Pause works with women who have experienced – or are at risk of – repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care. The programme gives women the chance to pause and take control over their lives, breaking a destructive cycle that causes both them and their children deep trauma.

Are you an ambitious, creative and influential practitioner who is passionate about reducing the number of children being removed into care by supporting women to bring about change in their lives?

As a Pause Practitioner Hackney, you will deliver a range of interventions and support measures as part of an integrated package of health, therapeutic and social support for women on the programme, under the direction of the Pause and STEPs Practice Lead.

You will undertake a creative and tenacious outreach approach to engage women and utilise a broad range of highly developed skills, alongside a high level of professional autonomy. The post holder will have the ability to adapt to shifting demands and priorities and be flexible in their approach to working with women on the programme.

You will be a big part of a small team, where everyone takes a flexible and collaborative approach to work and is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable and marginalised groups. Like Pause, you will be passionate about changing entrenched social issues and will respond by ‘doing things differently’.

The following criteria is essential for this post:

· Relevant professional qualification/experience in a field relevant to the work of the Pause team e.g. nursing, social work, mental health, education, criminal justice, youth work, therapeutic practice, counselling, criminal justice or equivalent

· Experience of working with families/individuals who present with a range of complex needs (mental health challenges, drug and alcohol misuse, domestic abuse) and demonstrate an ability to create rapport and build effective relationships

· Experience of case management including assessments, care planning and reviews with clients with complex needs

· Highly developed knowledge of adult safeguarding, childcare legislation and local Child Protection Procedures

· Ability to use influence and evidence to improve outcomes for Pause women

· An understanding of child development, parenting capacity, risk and protective factors

· Ability to work flexibly as part of a team

We are seeking to recruit a highly skilled Key Worker for our Key Worker Service in East Berkshire. The role will be diverse and service user centred and would suit someone with significant experience in supporting young people and young adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities and their families.

The day to day work will involve a flexible approach to coordination and direct support for the young person and their family, as well as providing responsive communication at times of increased need. This is an exciting role which allows for the Key Worker to support families to navigate the system whilst advocating for them and ensuring that their voice is heard.

There will be opportunities for collaboration and co-production and our vision is to provide young person and family centered support, whilst influencing system change to achieve better outcomes for more children,  young people and adults under the age of 25.

The service will be provided across the entire East Berkshire footprint covering: Slough, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Bracknell Forest.Although the team will be “virtual”, there will be frequent (weekly) travel within and across the East Berkshire area, therefore being a car driver with access to a car is essential, as well as being based near the local area. 

The Key Working Function has been developed as a response to the NHS England & NHS Improvement Long Term Plan (LTP) commitment that by 2023/24, children and young people with a learning disability, autism, or both, with the most complex needs will have a designated Key Worker, applying the recommendations made by Dame Christine Lenehan in ‘These are our Children'. The East Berkshire Key Worker Service has been established since 2023 and has developed and evolved over this time.

Princess Alice Hospice is one of the top ten adult hospices in the UK, providing specialist palliative care and support to a community of more than a million people living in Surrey, South West London and Middlesex. 

The Night Response Team (NR) provides specialist on call palliative nursing care between the hours of 22.00 and 08.00, 7 days a week for palliative care patients known to Princess Alice Hospice.

The Team also provides nursing care and assistance to palliative and general patients who are referred from the district nursing service, the OOH’s service (111), local ambulance services SECAMB and LAS, Mole Valley Telecare and Tunstall Community Alarm services. This includes palliative patients who are not known to PAH. Night Response visit patients in their own homes as well as in care and residential homes.

A Night Response shift will be covered by two members of staff per night, usually one RN and an SHCA, occasionally two RN’s.

We are based in an office on the in-patient unit at the Hospice. We receive calls, provide information, support and advice to patients, families, and other health care professionals, whilst visiting patients as required throughout the night.

The Night Response Service brings the skills and expertise of our highly trained and dedicated specialist team directly into the patients homes. This allows patients, their families and carers access to the vital support they need at home, when time matters most, providing the opportunity for patients to remain at home and reducing the need for hospital admissions.  

 About the role: 

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, dynamic and versatile Staff Nurse with excellent interpersonal, communication and telephone triage skills, to join our Night Response Team.

Experience in caring for patients who are terminally ill is essential. You will need to be able to work autonomously and have an excellent understanding of care provision in the community and be involved in auditing the service provided. 

You will need a full driving license with a maximum of 6 points for use of the hospice vehicle (automatic)

You will be motivated, a flexible thinker, and able to adapt to new ways of providing care to reach more patients within the community. You will have excellent communication skills and enjoy assessing the needs of patients, families, and carers.

We are looking for an experienced Trust Fundraiser with a background in securing income from charitable trusts and foundations to join our team to help Groundswell continue to create positive change in the lives of people, services and systems on their mission to tackle homeless health inequalities. Recently kicking off our new ‘Creating Positive Change’ strategy, coproduced by over 130 staff, volunteers, clients and partners, we have ambitious plans and a compelling model which in its simplest form promotes healthier lives and a better future for anyone who has experienced homelessness.  

The successful post holder will have experience in leading the development of well-written, compelling proposals and reports to charitable trusts and corporate foundations; demonstrating key relationship management skills to ensure all our funders feel part of Groundswell’s mission. You will be a flexible worker with strong organisational, research and written communication skills. One in seven babies is born premature or sick and needing care on a neonatal unit – this isn’t what most parents expect for their baby.

Bliss is the UK’s leading national charity for babies born premature or sick, and we are looking for a Baby Charter Programme Lead to join our enthusiastic and passionate team.
 

• Location: Hybrid, with a minimum of 1 day per week worked in our London Bridge office
• Salary: £38,910 FTE (£26,681 per annum actual salary)

• Terms: 24 hours per week, 12 month fixed term.

Role Details

We are looking for someone with a passion to improve healthcare for babies born premature or sick, through the leadership of Bliss’ major practice improvement programme, the Bliss Baby Charter.

The Baby Charter is a national accreditation programme being undertaken by most neonatal units in the UK. It aims to improve outcomes for babies born premature or sick by encouraging neonatal healthcare professionals to involve parents in the care of their baby. This is known as Family Integrated Care, or FICare.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: 

•Strong experience of planning and delivery of services for clients, customers, service-users or beneficiaries.
•Strong understanding of supportive line management, helping direct reports to achieve their objectives, to learn and develop in their roles
•Demonstrable experience of building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
•Strong understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in the context of service delivery
•Ability to work using own initiative, to work cooperatively as part of a team, and collaboratively across teams

• To support the Volunteer Manager and relevant departments through the coordination of volunteer opportunities, ensuring the smooth delivery of volunteering activities and events.
• To provide key administrative support in the accurate recording and reporting of volunteer information.
• To work alongside the Volunteer Manager, volunteers and teams to support Thames Valley Air Ambulance in achieving its vision to grow the scope of volunteering, maximising opportunities for both volunteers and the charity.

About you

• You will have good planning and organisation skills, as well as being a great communicator and able to motivate others.
• Ideally you will have experience of working with volunteers or with people in unpaid roles in the community. The successful candidate will be able to show an understanding of the motivation of volunteers and the challenges involved in recruiting, training and retaining volunteers.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office products is essential
• Above all, you will be enthusiastic with a can-do attitude and love working with people
