Scope
The RHN is a leading national centre of excellence, providing adult person-centred services that span the entire care pathway from post-acute rehabilitation services to end of life care, for people with complex Neuro-disability and their families, underpinned by a strong research and education programme.
The Fundraising Department is a small and friendly team, responsible for raising funds for a variety of vital therapies and services for the patients and residents. Furthermore, through a variety of income streams, the team helps to fund capital projects, such as ward refurbishments and new facilities.
The post-holder will become a key part in the development and growth of the charity, maximising financial income and raising awareness of the RHN. You will maximise existing relationships and opportunities through excellent supporter stewardship and will identify new fundraising opportunities. This role will involve occasional weekend and evening work, so a flexible approach is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Work together with the Community Fundraising Manager to organise the full calendar of fundraising events, including sporting/challenge, bespoke, special and community events, working towards a £230,000 target and £3.1m team target.
- Recruit participants for a range of existing sporting and challenge events whilst identifying new activities. Overseeing the marketing and stewardship of each.
- Act as first point of contact to community and challenge supporters, providing a first-class standard of supporter care and stewardship to maximise fundraising and supporter experience.
- Support in the delivery of a small portfolio community fundraising events including (but not limited to) the Christmas Fair, Bridge events and school fun runs
- Support volunteers organising their own events in addition to third party fundraising events.
- Identify and build relationships with new community groups
- Work closely with the Communications Team to develop marketing and digital plans for fundraising activities.

You will work with the County Council’s Refuse Collection Teams and Waste Managers to deliver a programme of targeted doorstep engagement, monitoring and community engagement activity aimed at reducing contamination and increasing recycling. As a Recycling Engagement Officer you will exercise your delegated powers to address residential waste offences.

Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. We are part of ‘One Recovery Buckinghamshire’ (ORB), a partnership between Inclusion (MPFT NHS Trust), Aquarius, and Build on Belief providing support for alcohol and drug issues across Buckinghamshire.
We are looking for three Support Workers (Community Connectors – Assessment and Engagement Team) to join our team. We have three positions available in Aylesbury.
Your challenge? To provide advice, support, advocacy and key work for recovery plans and undertake elements of assessment and case management as directed. And, all the while, we’ll expect you to operate in a way that recognises and values diversity and understands the functional model of substance use, the Recovery Agenda and the problems caused by alcohol and drug misuse.
Preferably with a NVQ 2/3 in Social Care, or willing to attain this, you are used to working to policy and procedural requirements that include child protection, vulnerable adults, confidentiality and health & safety. We’ll also be looking for good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and fulfil data requirements. The Engagement and Activity Practitioner (EAP) will work closely with the children and young people in the care of TACT foster carers across the North West. The Engagement and Activity Practitioner will facilitate opportunities for participation by organising, and, attending, events and trips that are in line with the children’s interests, developmental stages, and abilities, inclusive of children with additional needs. The Engagement and Activity Practitioner will continue the development of the children’s buddying club, for children to meet on a regular basis and share their views, ideas, and interests for TACT as an organisation to meet their needs.
Overall Duties of the Engagement Activity Practitioner will include:
- Being an accessible point of contact for the children living with our carers and to our young people, keeping them up to date with the facilities and opportunities available with TACT
- Supporting interventions and activities to ensure stable placement arrangements
- Being able to transport children and young people to events, appointments and meetings (mileage reimbursed)
- Organising and participating in virtual and face-to-face events and occasional residential meet-ups
- Managing all paperwork associated with events and activities
- Willingness to work flexibly, according to deadlines and needs of our families
- Undertaking trauma-informed direct work with children and young people
The main role requirements for this role include:
- A formal qualification in working with children and young people
- Experience in a paid or voluntary capacity of participation, advocacy or direct work with young people
- A good working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation and statutory guidance
- Good understanding of child development
- Understanding the care experience for Children & Young People
- Can establish constructive and effective working relationships with other colleagues, agencies and partners
- Understands inter and multi-agency working
- Can relate well to young people
The successful candidate will be required to attend regular face-to-face meetings in the Liverpool area and attend other face-to-face meetings such as training and team wellbeing events as well as meeting with children and young people in person. The EAP is required to be available to transport and attend at least two residentials per year within the UK.
The candidate is expected to have access to their own vehicle for transportation and have the flexibility to work during busy times, which include, after school, school holidays and occasional weekends.

Aquarius work with families and young people across a range of home and community settings supporting parents to build insight into the impact of parental substance misuse whilst developing safety and risk management strategies to minimise risk to the wider family.

An energetic and confident self-starter, you will need a passion for working with families supported by a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).
